Stacey Lopez is one of the top dancers from Puerto Rico. He began dancing professionally in 1979. In 1985 he moved to New York to go to Graduate School and was hired on the spot by the Eddie Torres Dancers (Eddie Torres was the originator of NY Style Salsa and his group is still one of the top dance companies in NY). After five interrupted years he formed his own company “The New York Mambo Dancers” producing four events in a year span for the RMM Record Company (the top Salsa record label at the time with shows at Madison Square Gardens, Radio City Music Hall, Carnegie Hall, etc...) and traveling around the world as an instructor. Stacey has danced and choreographed for many of the salsa bands from NY and PR and is known as the musicality master.
Christina Morrison is the director of Salsa Caliente in Victoria, BC, Canada. She has a background in music (she also plays the saxophone) as well as ballet, jazz and competitive ballroom. She has been dancing salsa for over 18 years and is certified by the World Salsa University to teach LA, New York & Puerto Rican Salsa. Christina has traveled to perform all over the West Coast as well as in Italy, Puerto Rico, New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Atlanta, the Bahamas and Mexico. She has competed twice for Canada in the World Salsa Open Championships and is now a certified judge. Christina has choreographed for Salsa Team Canada, as well as for numerous music videos and has had the honor of dancing on tour with some of the top bands including Juno nominated band “The Puentes Brothers” and Grammy Award winners “Spanish Harlem Orchestra”. www.CalienteDance.com
