I fully agree. Totes work well to temporarily store wood and move it around. Organized stacking takes up less space and works best for your own personal firewood, especially when space is limited. Totes are nice to separate species, especially if you have a conveyor that can be re-directed.. Personally, I burn about 12 cords in an OWB every year and stack in long rows that I can plow snow away from, and cover it with sheets of roofing steel. No shoveling, wood says dry, and no frozen in the ground totes that you end up actually having to plow more space for the empty ones.
