It doesn't matter how amazing he is, because J.B Pritzker has already hinted yesterday that they're not going to get the 2.4 billion they want, and I don't blame him. I'm tired of watching already uber rich folks keep milking the system.
Wow. That was a VERY serious miscalculation by opening a press conference (?) with a prayer to GET public money to build a stadium. Incredibly insulting, and it's going over like a lead balloon all over the sports world. Do these people have no shame?
Can we also get some sort of train access to the new facility? It’s a traffic and parking challenge currently, without easy access to public transportation. Frankly, I’d take an upgraded CTA train system before a new stadium for the Chicago Bears.
Really glad to hear that the audio quality has been fixed.. not!! In all seriousness though. I do love the look of the New Lakefront stadium and recreational complex
Love it. I’m skeptical, but frankly believe in Kevin Warren as a force of fucking nature. If the stadium ends up under budget, on time and paid off 20 years early like his Minnesota project, this will be one of the greatest development projects in Chicago history. A city with a rich history of building to begin with. Why not us. Prove the haters wrong.
Kevin Warren is Ted Phillips on steroids. This guy should be nowhere near the next stadium development for the bears. 40+ more years of inner city families holding the bill for con-men millionares and corrupt politicians. All supported by the delusional yuppies like you who support these same people. Absolutely shameless. Dont ever say you stand for the people of Chicago. You just want a fancy new stadium all you and all your well off friends can attend.
I do want to note that Superbowl tickets need to be a lot cheaper to allow everyone a chance to enjoy themselves. The wealthy people of Chicago should not be the ONLY people to be able to afford a ticket. Please show us that no matter the event, this stadium is really meant for everyone to enjoy.
So they outlined the cost for the actual stadium is $3.2B and the Bears would pay $2B and the other $1B through the hotel tax. But the other $1.5B…how is that being funded?
Hmmmm not sure I like the permanently closed roof. It is nice to enjoy being outdoors during October and even part of November. Many other cities might only use the retractable roof 3 times but if anyone actually would use the retractable roof, it's Chicago in the fall
He talked about this and the additional cost of the retractable makes the projects so much harder to get done. That giant window might open, and it looks like it'll get good light through the roof (I hope).
@atomicgamez445 mayor said they wouldn't increase taxes, he did not say that they wouldn't use our taxes for the stadium. Where else is the $900M public funding coming from? They're going to take tax money from other government budgets that benefit the public and spend it on a stadium that benefits the McCaskeys
@@bradd2042 if it’s a publicly owned stadium it will have to be built with our money wether you like it or not. I doubt we’ll notice a difference in where our tax dollars are going. I myself am a union construction worker and I greatly support this project because my brothers and sisters of every trade will have job security for years, and you can’t complain about the caskeys benefiting from a new stadium, they own the team for a reason, they wouldn’t own it if they couldn’t benefit in any way from it. Part of owning anything in life .
I 100% can complain about McCaskeys benefiting from taxpayer funds when they can't even provide us the benefit of watching a half decent team. I'm tired of the richest people in this country asking for and getting handouts from taxpayers.
The only reason ledfoot and her croonies didnt want the bears in AH is because they didnt want the city to lose money but if they would have made that a White Sox stadium then the city could still gain revenue!!!
Even if the Bears were to build a new stadium in one of the suburbs, they would still be THE CHICAGO BEARS. They don't need Chicago's permission to use the name Chicago. Even the San Fransico 49ers aren't in San Fran.
People bitching about helping pay for it. Ummm do you understand how many jobs he just opened back up!? The economy is going to skyrocket in Chicago especially during events like Super Bowls, summer slam concerts, Olympics, ect. Plus all the stores and vendors that will have a space to sell food and other goods. Stop bitching it’s happening. lol
🤡 the same jobs that already exist at the current stadium. The only difference is they are trying to tie these ones to racist and sexist hiring policies.
@@commonsense3921 you have no common sense if you think that was ok and not gaudy at all. To praise ownership and the GM and pray for money for a sports team. I’m a Bears fan. Have been since I was a little kid. Stupid tactics like this just show how low they will go. Pray for the sick, pray for the violence to stop. This was ridiculous.
This could be taken wrong, but the same people that love the Bears are the same people that say you need to buck up whatever the circumstance. If Bears fans cant handle an open concept field like Soldier Field has been for decades, there is a problem. Bears fans will come out to any game as long as the team is winning. The issue is traffic and parking. We dont need to spend tax payer money on a newly designed facility. Update what we have and keep the spirit that chicago has grown on for years which is being a hard nosed city that any fan is proud to represent. Not to mention, this state sucks with its financial issues and the die hard sports fans of any team in this city arent willing to pay their hard earned money into a team needing a building for a team that is owned by a billionaire (other than merch and ticket sales)
"We'll build restrooms". Well, that seals it, let's go! If you build potties, they will come. Many will have new housing and many more will get to appreciate the homeless issue up close while they stroll to the game in anticipation of sitting in their $3000 seats. Seriously, this looks amazing. Even better if they can figure out the commuting/transportation issue.
Yep, our mayor better say a prayer....cause he and this organization are about to bilk the tax payers and he better pray we're all dumb enough to fall for it.
New football stadiums are essentially giant TV studios. I think there's better things we can spend our money on. Please don't invoke God while trying to swindle the taxpayers 🤔
