You should look into the polygraph requirement. Failing applicants entire process based off a machine that is not 100% accurate and not immiscible in court. No matter how clean the applicant’s background is.
I applied to this department everything was going well until the polygraph. Being an honest person doesn’t get you through. The examiner accused me of lying about doing drugs and got disqualified because a computer was saying that I was “lying”.
Same exact thing happened to me but at AZ DPS. I applied for a non-sworn position and was denied employment for "lying" about something that I've never done. Going in to the polygraph everybody always tells you to "just be honest," but as people like me and you have seen, this isn't a guarantee of anything.

6 months of academy and weeks of FTO isn't low training. Pay is also about 29 or so an hour. Its literally, Perception of LE, City councils/Mayors, which leads to poor policing and burn out. Why work for Maricopa or Phoenix when you can lateral to Surprise and other better and less stressful departments.
Problem is Maricopa county is not competitive with the surrounding city agencies . Salary ranges are similar, but without anyway to advance along the range (no step pay plan) deputies working there 20 years are not topped out.

That Is Cruel And People Are Really Suffering From Hunger Pains In Their And Suicidal Thoughts.That Will Make Any Humam Grow To Despise Whoever Is The Authority Who Is Supposed To Be Making Sure The Inmates Are Treated In A Humane Way And Not Cruel Or Torturous. It Makes The Inmates Try Recipricating That Pain And Frustration That They Are Building Up Back To The Detention Officers And All Staff. You Gotta Start From Within Always Or It Won't Work
