I love his solution. He had an exhaust that needed to be repaired, so he threw on aftermarket. That's the way I do things, too. Use the stock stuff. When things need replaced, that's the most financially sensible time to mod. Struts need replaced? Coil-over kit. Tires worn? Upgrade time. Hole in your exhaust? Magnaflow that thing. I find myself looking forward to maintenance this way, instead of dreading it. But start with the v6.
Facts AF. I had to replace clutch and flywheel for my 6-6 accord and I said fuck it and went with stage 1 clutch kit and light weight flywheel. Rated for just over 400tq most I'd hit with my car is probably 325 with nx tops
Hi Milan, I'm in my 70's and was always a car nut. It's great to see a young person getting their hands dirty and working on your car. this is great! I've got an 2009 Accord Coupe with about 65k miles. It's got the 2.4 Ivtec. I never could see the logic of a timing belt in a 6 cyl and a timing chain in a 4 cyl. When I bought my 09 in 09 I went with the 4 cyl. Since Honda discontinued the Coupe I've decided to keep this car and do some mods. I've been curious about doing a dual exhaust. Then along came your video. I'll have to look over my car and see if I have that cutout for the drivers side exhaust. Do you have any idea if the 2009 Honda had the brackets factory installed. My son in laws brother owns a shop and he'll be the one to help dad out with the install. I've also got a cold air intake by K&N which needs installation. Please remind me of the year and specs of your Accord. Thanks as I said I am greatly impressed with you and the work you do. When I was 17 I was rebuilding Chevrolet 327 & 409 engines. I still have all my tools, buy my age won't let me crawl under a car anymore LOL. Thanks P.S. according to the manufacturer this system cannot be used on a 4cyl. Now is that because the 4 cyl doesn't have the drivers side mounts, heat shield etc as you described and it will work on a 4cyl with the necessary add ons? One other question, I'm not sure the noise level is legal where I live. Is it possible to use regular stock mufflers? We will still have some increase in efficiency with dual pipes, yes no? Many thanks Tom
Tom Heckhaus I would stay with a single exhaust on a 4 cylinder. I run a 3” single on a v6 accord and I’ve noticed better performance than on a duel exhaust . Dual exhaust on a 4 cylinder or even 6 cylinder is only for aesthetics. It looks nice but no real function. Just stay single exhaust . 2.5 “ from the cat back with upgraded muffler for better performance . Magnaflow makes really nice sounding mufflers for your car . Oh and as far as noise get an exhaust system with a resonator set up and you’ll be fine .
Put custom rear diffuser, WRX front lip (mod/ fits great) and maybe hpf lip kit all around and lower a bit 😍😎 She would look even nicer! Nice sound by the way, its just right. 👍
I think, that if accord id now a project car, it would get a lot of aftermarket parts, right? Also honda aftermarket is really huge and affordable. But why don't you try to port your head and intake, instead of buying it? Also google some of aftermarket dyno charts and compare, how your DIY mod would compare to aftermarket manifold. Also if you'd try dimple texture it would be killa'.
Good to see people modding Accords, I dont have it on RU-vid but I do have a 13 Accord V6 sedan with a few small mods, Injen Cold Air Intake, Borla Axleback, RV6 long tube J pipe, factory midpipe with Resonator delete, Acura RL 4 piston front brake caliper/Nissan 350z brembo rotor conversion, Tein Flex Z coilovers, pretty soon I’ll be getting RV6 PCDs, I have a 2015 Acura TLX intake manifold and throttle body to put in, a set of Ported intake runners and a ktuner V2 when I can afford it
i’ve always loved the v6s but the 4cyl accord (imo) have always sounded better than your average, and sometimes even modified civics. If you want power out of the gate and don’t expect to do engine mods v6 v6 v6. But if you’re a tuner bro i4 all day
How much power can you get with full bolt ons and a small turbo for the k24z3?? I feel like they barely have this car any power with this motor . Probably should have gotten the v6
Why spend all this money on a 4 banger in the first place I would just cut stock muffler off for sound and that’s it because you ain’t making it fast at all.
how much power did the intake and exhaust add? i have a v6 2013 myself as a daily but want more power i have intake as well just not ktuner and ex so please lemme know cuz id like to make a decision on it soon. Thanks much
Honda typically restricts the exhaust system a good amount stock, so when you change that up, and pair it with an intake and tune, you will get a noticeable increase in power. Both your butt dyno, and actual dyno will be able to show that 👍
Broooo you've always been the channel that makes me want an 8th Gen accord coupe v6 with a manual. They're still a bit pricey, but such a great car. Has the looks, performance, and a great platform. Of course, it's got the Honda reliability too :)
I'll tell you right now, they aren't. The exhaust on this thing is quite restrictive, especially since the OEM head collects into one port. If you can make that slightly larger than stock, you will be able to flow more air which reduces back pressure, which frees up horsepower. My butt dyno says it works very well!
Sounds good, a lower deeper tone. Probably because the K24 isn't oversquare like say a K20 or B18. Sounds more like my Focus. Currently looking for a 2013-2017 Accord Coupe, with a V6 and manual. Hopefully I don't end up with the K24 and actually find what I want but wouldn't be the end of the world. A 280hp V6 would be a sweet starting point.
@@geo9019 lmao you wish, I ain't broke like that😂 I've owned mine for a year and it's already full bolts on worth pure 600 turbos on e85. On a custom tune I'll gap your shit anyday of the week.
I have a 2010 accord lx and it super slows!!! Would you plz give me a lists that I should mod to make around 240 or 300 hp…? I’ve been watch yr videos lately and they are so cool.. thanks for keep uploading yr amazing videos
living in Ontario, as soon as the salt comes out, my 2008 Accord V6 M6 stays in the garage. I love my car way too much to allow that salt to kill my car.
I gottta V6 Accord Coupe... Idk for same reason just the catback exhaust r overpriced for this car.. just this magnaflow exhaust for it $1000 compare to aftermarket exhaust for Genesis or G35 that I had before..
I’m currently building my accord sedan I can’t purchase that cat back system anymore do you know of another good one?? I have a down pipe currently but everything is stock all the way until an after market muffler
What you refer to as car is a company that has been making lawnmowers. Snap out of your dollarama modifying dream and show us a real engineering marvel in automotive achievement out of the lawnmover class.
I recently bought a 2013 Honda Accord hfp. So far, it has the Takeda stage 2 pro intake, RV6 high flow precats and Borla S-type quad exhaust. I’m new to this and I want to do some more performance upgrades. I’d appreciate any advice on where to start. Thanks
Just got one of these today and it has this exhaust along with a kn air intake. Such a cool car and such a blast to drive. Just those two mods make the car fast as hell if you're good with pedal placement, I have a 13 Impala w/ 300hp at the crank and this thing takes off way quicker, it's a lighter car but still just goes to show how much these motors can really give with minor upgrades.
I have a 2019 Honda Accord sport 2.0 I would love to make my car faster and louder but to be honest I have never worked on a car & I don’t know much about them could you help me out or Do you know anyone that is from Houston that could work on it?
This video is very informative. I have an 8th gen coupe as well, but does anyone know if there is any performance gains if I take a stock dual exhaust off a v6 Honda Accord and put it on the i4???
