Hello, I just installed a mhd stage 2 on my m240i, but the sport dosplay showes only cca 410hp but not 470hp what it should. I dont have the xhp. Is the xhp the problem?
Good video, never liked the way it shifts in manual mode, just feels laggy and jolty?!.....Will be installing this very soon and really looking forward to it!
Hi Brett. Nice upgrade. Excellent content as usual. Your bmw performance makes you grin eh! Great channel. Your in my top 3 favourites. U.K. supports you. 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
Great video as always Brett! I’ve been heavily considering doing this to my stock M140i too, there’s a couple things that concern me with XHP though. With the aggressive upshifts that you get, does it feel like it unsettles the car if it’s shifting into a bend or anything similar? (I know this can be adjusted in the settings, I just wondered how it feels without any tweaks) And secondly, I quite like to casually drive around in sport mode, shifting manually, and there’s a few people that have said it often feels a little slower than stock unless you’re driving more aggressive, so I’m wondering whether you’d felt this at all or not?
Leave your car stock. Do you really think these backyard fiddlers won't damage your engine and gearbox by pushing it past tolerance? Unmolested 140i will hold value while these molested cars will end up at the scrap yard.
@@potaka79 i've just had a sports cat delivered and already have dual res delete with backbox mod on the car. Relatively cheap mods for the power on offer.
Ive just purchased a vw golf r 2018 and this video has made me think about this.. The golf R is so quick anyway, but with something like this it would be a different breed
@@BrettBarnesYT yes exactly by the book. The rev matching is good forgot that. But in terms of shifting speed it's not a huge difference tbh. My cousin has an m135i and he didn't even get rev matching
@@legendgalaxy Not entirely sure how yours was configured but it's night and day different especially when it comes to Sports/Sport+ mode and the fact you get true manual mode....
@@definedcoding DSC is the fastest shifting mode and yes it's a bit faster but not worth the money IMO. I know it's a controversial opinion, but a BM3 stage 1 remap was worth every single penny, I call that a transformation
I’d definitely say stage 3, I wouldn’t think the rest are worth it but each stage is for different peoples styles of driving. Maybe message Defined Coding and see what they recommend
Question. How does car modification work for your insurance? Do you have to ask for permission first? Or do you just do it. Tell them about it and pay whatever changes?
@@BrettBarnesYT nice one. I’ll be getting a 116/118D soon 2016/2017. Looking at maybe a ghost immobiliser if you’ve got or heard of these? If not check them out. Supposed to be really reliable. Prevents theft of a car keys or not. And for about £400/450 it’s really not bad
It'll feel quick after driving like miss daisy for 70 miles! Placebo? I'd want to do a direct comparison and not have to fanny around for 50 miles first.
