Reading your comment broke my heart 💔 I obviously have no idea who you are or what your story is, but the idea that anyone would in any way tell a 5 year old child that they cannot cry when their mom dies is absolutely heartbreaking and angering. It's very possible you were raised in a culture which dictated that crying was a "weakness" or somehow "wrong." That's where my mind goes because I myself was raised in a similar way. (I was born in Poland, late 80s, communism era- emotions were regarded as a weakness and a defect for pretty much anyone, but ESPECIALLY boys and men.) I'm so sorry that you had to go through the loss of your mom, at such a young age, and made to feel that you were somehow "bad" when you needed to cry. I hope that you were able to hold on to many wonderful memories of your mom, and that you keep her alive in your heart and mind by replaying them often. God bless you ❤

Sorry about your loss. It was Sarah's time. I sang songs to my daughter when she had a few hrs to live. They were songs my mom sang to me and grandma sang to my daughter. My daughter had morphine drip.she could hear,but couldn't speak. I sat and watched her take her last breathe. Stage 4 colon cancer at 27 yrs old,died at 32. Miss my daughter.

I had a feeling this morning when I got up that Sarah was on her way to what I believe is her next part of her journey. I will put her name on my credential when I walk the Obliteride 5K walk on 8/12/23. I had already pledged my money be directed to cures, treatments, and research at our Fred Hutch Cancer Research Center for melanoma. Even when you know it’s coming, you’re never prepared for the finality when it happens. My heart just breaks for all of you. I was only 7 when my mother passed away. She was also pregnant (at 6 mos). To lose a parent at a young age is so confusing and I felt abandoned. I am glad your son is old enough to have awesome memories and a very strong father. You are a team. Go slow. Don't be rushed. Live only for yourselves and no one else's expectations. How brave and grown up Brayden is, sitting beside you. Reminds me of my son when my husband passed. The bible says we are to rejoice when someone leaves for their heavenly home, so I rejoice for Sarah. May the Lord bless and comfort you as you learn how to begin this new chapter of your lives.
