Great video! I'd love to see a follow-up where you talk about the strategies for handling/deploying the backup regulator hose while underwater for the pony bottle application.

Great video Chris. Why would you not put the hose retainers under the leash, so that during deployment they don't pop off?

Thanks man! I like them on top so if I'm wearing gloves it's a little easier to get my hands under. I personally have never lost one underwater while deploying unless it broke.

Great video Chris 👍 I’m setting up an alum 80 now for a stage bottle 50% I’ll call tomorrow to order halcyon kit if thats what you recommend or the dive rite kit ??

Thanks! Yes i personaly find the Halcyon stage kits to be stream line and durable. They are my rigging of choice 👌

Hi, Quick question on the fabric hose retainer - any spec details (e.g. length, width, brand) please could you share with us?

sorry for the late reply.... Those are the Dive Rite hose retainers. Really nice in cold water with gloves. They sell them for both AL80s and Al40s. Here is a link. dansdiveshop.ca/product/dive-rite-epdm-hose-retainers/

So if it’s 100% oxygen why is there a 20 on the tank?

Thats the Maximum Operating Depth (MOD) decal. 20 indicates 20ft since 100% oxygen past 20ft has a PO2 goes past 1.6 which puts the diver at risk of oxygen toxicity. I personally don't like how most brands for both metric and Imperial don't add feet or metres in the corner of the stickers 👎 one day i want to custom make my own.

What side do you use your pony bottle on?

Left side as you want to keep your right side clear for rescues if you have to hold a reg in a divers moth from behind.

Iv seen it done both ways however especially in cold water I recommend over. In thick drygloves it's almost impossible to grab the rubber strap flush against the tank when trying to stow the reg back after changing gases.

physically they are the same. MOD decals and gas mixtures change as well as how you use them in your dive plan but the cylinder, regulator and stage kit are identical which is primarily what this video was about.

@@nicogioffre2370 all right so how about share you knowledge about what you think is different? Be part of the conversation instead of just using exclamation marks. I'm very curious to see how your extra cylinder doesn't have a tank, 1st stage, 2nd stage, guage and some sort of stage rigging.
