I'm a qualified PCV driver. All I have to say is yes stagecoach are massive., so job for life and no matter where you live in UK, always a job. But they are only one company, so many others out there all nearly offer same. I love driving and have driven buses and coaches not only in UK but all over Europe . It is by far one of the best jobs there is, you are your own boss with an income which can exceed 40k a year. Much better than sat behind a desk! At this time of writing the corrona virus is hitting the world very bad. So please all stay safe and stay inside, the quicker this virus is eliminated, the quicker normal life get back. I start on the 14th so 10 days at Stagecoach South cannot wait i love driving my car so can't wait to driver bigger vehicles then in 10years or so might leave and go HGV driving but i'll see how much i enjoy driving around my town in a bus.

People are a bore. I've been doing it almost 20 years and it was only my love of buses and wanting to be a bus driver from an early age that still keeps me in the profession today cause it sure as hell was never about people.
I was too young to apply for this job when this video came out. Would love the chance if it was still available, but Stagecoach has too many drivers already!
Today was my first day with stagecoach,Bristol.Shocking day. The depo manager,he didn't remember me. He asked me to come in 8am. I gave other issues as well. I'm surprised,how unorganized. I'm not sure if I stay here.
starting my training in around two weeks with stagecoach south Wales and looking for honest opinions on what the company is really like to work for, also is there another test to upgrade my licence to full Manuel as stagecoach only covers automatic busses
I passed my test in 2014, My license was automatically upgraded to a manual license, But working for Stagecoach, From my experience was really a bad one. Your a spare driver for two years, Give the better jobs to older drivers, Change your jobs at the last minute. But hopefully for you they're different in Wales, So good luck.
Stagecoach only pay minimum wage for nights. Crap company to work for. Not friendly company at all. Do not work for them. My husband has done bus driving for years no training given as he had his licence etc. Still paid him 7.50 an hour for nights. Stay away
prime lakedomino Are you having a laugh ? Have you seen what they did to the old X9 route between Exeter and Bude ? Replaced the comfortable First buses with shit heaps. First Group were miles better.
Such friendly drivers. Sometimes I don't have money for a fare, and my dad has a bus driver called Matthew. He lets me on the bus for free if I don't have a fare. Also, they're really sociable.
***** Hi Joshua, thanks for getting in touch! Do you like the video? You have to have a full UK Car driving licence for at least two years, with no penalty points or endorsements. Which means you need to be at least 19 or 20 before you become a bus driver. We look forward to you applying when the time is right!
