In reality some bus drivers are so fuckin lazy they just sit on their phone on their breaks. They don't check for sharp objects or food and shit on the floors
Colin iwent through driver recruitement ..had 6 bus routes to learn...each day for the week...was naturally falling behind .the trainer jumps in..arrogantly throws the seat back ..floors the bus i saw 20 km over the speedlimit..passengers were experiencing ..more than a mild inertia ..dont mention safety for this corp...they chose aguy ...what ate heavily..and nicely crashed out..on the way back to depot..trainer driving...Good luck to u...this is the gov for u🍉🍉🍉
@@josephodonnell8982 is in where i am boss bunch of hopeless public servants big noting on themselves fuck them all fuvk the industry as a whole when a female bus driver trainer hits 20km/h over limit whole bus vibrating ..enjoy ur shit people enjoy the fatalities stick ur job in my asshole the real bus drivers are resting. In the ground..as long as i live not one cent to trams or buses id rather walk thanks happy new year 2021 🇦🇺🇦🇺🥰🥰🤗🤗🤎🤎☕
When I was a bus and coach driver, we had 15 minutes on clocking on to sing on with your ticket module and get your bus ready for the road, i,e top up with water at the same time the engine was running to build up air pressure, you were told of if you didn't leave the garage on time. So there is no way one could do all this in 15 minutes so I cant see this being done each day.
Most defects get ignored by bus companies unless its either very easy to put right or downright illegal. You can have a dashboard like a christmas tree but if there are no red lights or brake warning lights you are deemed safe to go. Things like headlights and most exterior lights get replaced immediatly upon failure or if not later that day.
Big companies should have proper inspection areas by now. Safe working space around the vehicle with barriers. It's all a blame game now. Book stuff off because you know what you doing and you become moaner. You can't win.
What a laugh what i see from our buses is does it start yes then bloody drive it don't worry about anything broken as long as it runs then get on with your job. That's cut backs for you. That's why I don't use public transport. They also would need a bigger card than shown at the end. As their is also something wrong with ours
I wonder if the driver reports a very minor defect from a first use check how many times will it actually get fixed straight away at the expense of that bus being late for service or will shift managers still send it out anyway
If it is deemed still roadworthy they send it out. You can report the same thing for weeks before its fixed. Had a Bus in a my fleet that was running rich and pouring soot everywhere drinking fuel like mad and they waited 3 weeks to sort it.
"Sufficient time will be allocated and this will be negociated locally with the trade union" We get about 5 minutes to do all this and if we leave the car park where the buses are stored (this is a good 6 minute walk from the depot) they will pull you into the office and bollock you.
All this is done just to keep the lawyers quiet. If something goes wrong and there's an accident, the driver can be fired for "endangering passenger safety", and the company can hope that they only have to pay a slightly smaller compensation bill because they "had a comprehensive safety program that the driver shamelessly ignored".
Legendary Farmer yes the bus in the video is a Volvo Wright eclipse, The Scania buses that translink have are almost exactly the same but they’re called the Scania Wright Solar Wright bus make the body of the vehicle and Volvo/Scania make the engine and chassis etc that’s why they look similar
I checked a bus one morning and found the fire extinguisher installed back to front so I was unable to see the pressure guage on it to check it was still in the green. Radioed the depot got told "they have a shelf life of 5 years carry on"
There is so much to go and do about expecting about a bus before traveling on bus all items you do but the ramp was strange you don't put it out like that it comes out with a button behind driver side have you had any trouble anytime hope not😢😮be safe
Lol...when ireversed mack bus ..out of depot..with hazzards..i tapped horn twice to warn poss pedestrians im coming...But ooooh. Nooo...female no it all said nooo turn them off...fine idid...just letting u know the high standard bikkering type of bus trainers employed today ..are killing the industry...never reapply. Or see one ticket from me...until i amalive...🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🍉🍉🍉✌️✌️✌️👇👇👇
I don't know why they call it a first use check, EVERY driver should do a full walk around check everytime they get on a vehicle and that should only take 10 min...
What a load of rubish they never gave enough time all they were worried about was the run out in the mornings . we all know that . they will never change last bus
I think they do otherwise they wouldn't be on the road. Oh and where in Leicester are you? I'm on the 18 route so I think the new buses are getting checked just a little bit..... Jeez
What an outrage ! These are engineering specifications and not a driver duty bound obligation surely ? Being a "driver" surely you drive and "not" be responsible for technical and engineering based legal technicalities ? Surely company's have technical expert have a look at the vehicle for road worthiness first and not leave this to the driver ?? I am very concerned and thinking twice about using the local bus service !!!!
The driver is the person that should check because i'm sure the mechanics are busy Probably Fixing buses or refurbing them or what not therefore they can't do it. Also as it said they need to answer the questions (not exactly) Is it safe? Well on the inside trip hazards can happen at any moment it ,might only take someone to catch themselves on something sharp like a nail out of a seat and that's it it's a fault i rode on a E400 Arriva (in bus terms its a make and model) a seat wasn't on correctly and therefore fell off and it had just been repaired the day before and i almost Cracked my head open and that happened because of a loosened screw... Just goes to show that drivers need to be observant coz faults don't happen just in the depot... they happen everywhere
Mark Penn it's a legal requirement that the first driver of a large vehicle bus or truck must complete a first use check Drivers of all buses complete these daily it doesn't take long and most of it is common sense
They do not care as long as they get bus on road. I worked for them for 13 yrs. HS is not important to them. Nor is cleaning. Lowestoft depot the buses are filthy and never been any different. It should not say first bus it should be called last bus.
But these buses are not fit for use. Ask any cyclist has been run off the road. The excuse, blind spot. Why do we have buses with blind spots. We have the technology.
cyclists should be held responsible for their actions so perhaps then they wouldn't put their selves in danger and use buses as an excuse also they should be TAXED £50 per year as a starter and also have insurance for damage to other vehicles as they scrape there way past
@@alandew7150 what a shame you couldn't think of something intelligent or new to say. Why should cyclist pay fifty pounds when cars coursing the same amount of pollution go free. I've been run off the road by a bus that was overtaking but didn't complete the overtake before pulling in, I've been knocked off my bike by motorists who just don't look, nearly killed so many times by poor drivers who haven't read the highway code since passing their test. But I go out in my son's Mercedes and it tells him there is something or someone in his blind spot but it's to much and to expensive to fit to a bus?
@@grahamreeve673 Blindspots are slowly being eliminated. In the new MMC buses the mirrors if adjusted properly reduce the blindspot to only being the nearside door. Some buses are being fitted with cameras instead of mirrors that will display on screens so these 100% eliminate blindspots its new technology though and plenty of old buses going to be around for some time. The MMC electric buses and Volvo Tri Axle double deckers in my area both have these camera/screen combo. As for the blind spot sensor in the mirror like you mentioned that will never happen with bus mirrors its a financial thing the mirrors will cost more and believe me plenty of nearside mirrors get destroyed on tree branches and bus shelters by drivers who are not being aware enough. The digital screen and camera combo will be the future of bus mirrors because they will last the life of the bus and not get sheared off by branches etc and they improve safety.
