My mom was in labor with me for almost 15 hours. I’m so proud to have such a strong and amazing mom. Thank you to all the incredible moms out there too! ❤
@@rc6292 Thanks for asking! It was a challenging delivery, lasting 18 hours. When he was finally born, he wasn't breathing. Luckily, everything is fine now. He's made a full recovery 🙏🧡
I woke up from a dead sleep and knew I was having my baby. It took us close to an hour to get to the hospital but when I got in there, baby was born in 40mins. I couldn’t imagine being in labor for HOURS!! Good bless you women who endure that
@@tayabanayeera6845 I did not do anything intentional for it to happen. I stay pretty active so I imagine that had something to do with it, but my mom had short labor with her deliveries, so I think it’s genetic too. My midwife did recommend spinning babies exercises to help make labor easier
My first baby (I was VERY young too young 14) I was in labor for 22 h & 47 minutes because he was stuck in my birth canal and I was hyperventilating ... But with my second it was a completely different experience I woke up at 3 am to my water breaking and by the time I got to the hospital I was already 8 & 1/2 centimeters dilated but I also was much older I was 25 and learned more about my body, breathing, and how to push Also my first born he was 22 inches long & 8 lbs 9 oz where as my second she was 6 lbs 11oz
39 weeks 1 day and I can't wait to experience this! Excited and nervous at the same time since it's my first time. Can't wait to meet my precious baby girl😍❣. Wishing every pregnant woman safe delivery🙏🙏
@@fzuzka I indeed did it. Just delivered my angel yesterday at 39+6days via normal delivery. The pains was unbearable but the moment you hear the cry of that little thing, you will feel it no more😃😃😃
@@ellaboateng3456 Oh, good God! Congratulations. I'm so happy for you. 🥰🤗🙏 Enjoy every moment. May God bless you both with long and healthy lives. I still only can imagine. And can't wait. After 10 years of hoping there are just few days left to see my baby boy. 🥲👶
I just gave birth last month, I labour for 17hrs , and when I saw my baby, all the pains were gone, God bless all mum, I thank God for safe delivery and a healthy baby, it's worth the pain, women are powerful
My 5th baby fell out of me after 76 minutes of contractions. Literally, fell out. I couldn't keep him in 😂 you'll never know what labor's like until it's happened. Praying for all the beautiful mommies and babies!!
Maybe you had the ferguson reflex (the fetal ejection reflex) : "when the body “expels” a baby involuntarily - that is, without forced pushing on your part."
Man, what do babies think when they are getting pushed out? That's gotta be crazy for them, getting pushed, hearing their mom screaming, getting squeezed through a tight opening that misshapes their head a little bit, suddenly being in the air and exposed to much more light, then getting handled and passed around to different people,... Imagine if we could remember all that
Yeah I was screaming and didn’t even take breathe bcz I couldn’t my body wanted to push only at that time! But the nurse and the doctor asked me to relax and don’t scream as much so I don’t make my baby terrified … I tried for like few seconds and then I heard my baby crying it’s amazing .. 21-05-2024 the birth of my son ❤
I think those pushes, screams and being squeezed makes him ready to face the challenges right after birth just like we aren't advised to break the egg to help chickens hatch out similarly these little difficulties are what prepare a baby to bear temperature difference, pressures, breathing on their own, screaming and using their mouth to get their first feed. I might be wrong but that's how I think
Don't be scared. There is truly nothing to be scared of. I'm 8 day overdue with my 4th and I'm excited. It's the most wonderful and beautiful thing ever
Have an epidural. It’s brutal without it. So much better with it. I had it with one but not with the second one. If there had been a third I would definitely have an epidural.
Finally, I have my 12-Day-Old baby now. Labor is hell 😢 Had strong contractions for 11 hrs but my cervix dilated only to 7cm. The pain was unbearable and my baby was in distress. Had an emergency C-section. I'm still recovering from the pain and operation I went through.
First baby induction lasted 4-5 days. Epidural failed. 5 attempts. She was almost c section. Finally got her out with head pliers. 2nd baby induced and 2 days. Epidural successfully and pushed twice and he was out !! God bless all the new mamas. It’s so worth it
My induction was Sunday-Tuesday. Finally born Tuesday night. Forceps. No epidural. Second baby took 3 hours, start to finish. Only felt pain for an hour. No time for epidural. Two healthy 8 pound plus, baby girls. 40 and 43 years ago!!
With my first baby, I kind of skipped the first 2 phases 😅 At a check up, I suddenly got 2 extremely painful contractions and then I had to push for about 25 min until we held our little miracle in our hands ❤
My first was 38 hours, 2.5 hours of pushing…she was faced wrong, so it was all intense back labor to boot. My second and third were completely different though. #2 was 12 hours, approximately 15 minutes of pushing. #3 was 5 hours, 2 pushes.
Woke up in the middle of the night to find my water broke, called the midwife and she said no worries just relax and take it easy, I told her no we’re coming to the hospital now. Thank goodness I did because I was already 7cm and baby was born 4 hours later. I entered transition as soon as I got into my hospital room. Listen to your guts ladies!!
My gynecologist told me to drink water, get in the bathtub . I ignored him, arrived at 6-7 cm at the hospital, delivered a 34 week baby 3 hours later. It was very clear in my records that I had gone into early labor at 29 weeks. Thanks Dr Harding in Raleigh, NC. Also thanks for no epidural and stiching me up unmedicated with no lidocaine, even thought the nurse tried to hand you it.
I had the same thing with my first. I didn't really notice early labour. My waters broke at 2am so I called my midwife, she said I could stay at home for a bit until I felt like the pain was too intense. I said I wanted to go to the hospital. My pain went from 0-100 within 20 minutes. Our daughter was born 3 1/2 hour later. I pushed for like 5 minutes + our daughter was posterior (sunny side up) I legit had no ides until this week (almost 2.5 years later) because she just flew out. It all happened so quickly, everyone was shocked how quick it was being a first time mum. Interested to see how our 2nd will go in September
4 days ago I sensed i was in labour when the pink mucus came out and cramp’s started but it was still early morning. Stayed home all day and left for hospital at about 5pm. The nurse was rather unconcerned/unsure whether it was labour as i was still just 0/1cm in the early evening. I was 39 weeks 4 days so i knew this was it. I continued to be in labour until my baby girl arrived at 01:19am on 26/03/2024. She’s currently fast asleep on my chest, in perfect health and contentment. I feel so blessed (and moody 😅 but mostly blessed) all the best to all the moms and dads out there. Hope you have all the support you need ❤🥰
I just gave birth my baby 5 days ago. It is so amazing job. When I hear the first cry of hers, tears rushed out.I brought her to the world, I must be responsible and raise her up well.
Labor can greatly vary. I followed what I thought were labor guidelines. I was in labor 3 hours with irregular contractions about 4-7 minutes apart. I thought because they were so vast, I had plenty of time. Well, my water broke and I immediately went to get our prepared hospital bags. When I went into the room to get it, I had one sudden strong contraction and my baby practically fell out of me. I had a spontaneous unplanned homebirth. So far, none of my other births happened so quickly. My theory on why it was so quick is because my family and I moved into an upstairs apartment late in pregnancy. I think the stairs really built my muscles or something.
@@KJacks1017 Oh, yes. It definitely did, but it almost seems like it didn't because it was very quick. My first birth almost seemed the most painful, but I think it is really because it was the longest labor around 20 hours. Pain is definitely more bearable when it doesn't last long.
@@okolietheresa4868 At the moment it happened, not even husband was there. 🤣 That was quite the surprise for him! He was downstairs loading the vehicle. Fortunately, baby and I were healthy and I gave birth naturally like God intended. I didn't "need" anyone there and just allowed my body to do what it was doing. But we called for paramedics to come and check that the baby was okay and we went to the hospital right after for more tests. After experiencing this, (and after horrible hospital stays with previous births,) my next child I am going to have at a birthing center in a couple of weeks. I think the medicalization of birth is overdone when it comes to healthy moms. Birthing centers with trained doctors are great because there is only medical intervention if necessary. And when women get epidurals and lay on their back, it makes labor slower because the position is so unnatural, they have to be told when a contraction is and when to push, and it is more difficult to push hard when you can't feel your lower body. When I gave birth on all fours, the baby came out much easier.
started from 5 in the morning, and finally at 00.02 had to delivered the baby through c-section bcs high blood pressure. now he is 11yo. the second through c-section too, now 9yo, the third one can't survive coz bleeding inside and almost cost my life, c-section needed too. with all of that feel grateful bcs now they are healthy.
First time mother to be, 32 weeks, waiting and praying for a healthy boy 👦!!! He is already with his head down, I guess he’s ready 😊. Update: baby Aden was born on 09.03.23, at 40w+ 3d… healthy and handsome! 7.14 lbs 💙💙💙Thank you!
My first wasn’t that long I would say maybe 7 hours. Now my second I was in labor for 16 hours. I started labor the night before and didn’t go into the hospital till around 6 am. Had baby at 3 o’clock that afternoon. Most amazing experience I’ve ever had.
I was induced due to preeclampsia and thankfully my labor and delivery lasted about 6 hours. I was adamant about not getting an epidural, but then I was 4 centimeters dilated and at that moment I was begging to get the anesthesia😂 the doctor inserted the catheter and it was instant relief. By 9-10 cm dilation the epidural effect was gone and I ended up having my baby without analgesia. Thank goodness I only had to push for like 10 minutes. Honestly, I didn't know I was that strong.
My first labor was 30 hours because I stalled at 7cm. I decided to get the epidural, which halted my contractions and I needed Pitocin. I pushed for 30 minutes and baby boy was here! I'm hoping my second goes a little faster since my body knows what to do now
My daughter is about to give birth to a boy, she's any day now. Please pray for her and our family as she embarks on this journey. So far the pregnancy has been uneventful. Her platelet counts are low but the Dr. is not too worried. We are a loving family, and her husband is excited, as a AA female, I want her pain to be taken seriously and this birth to go well. Thank you in advance for your prayers.
Everyone, yes! The birth went well she did have a C-section but it really was needed due to her pelvic size. Thank you all for your prayers. His name is Caleb Daniel.
Im 18 and just found out I’m pregnant yesterday (probably 2 weeks). I already love him or her so much and I cant wait to meet them. ❤ Super excited and nervous at the same time.
Congratulations! I just had my first baby 2 weeks ago . Let me tell you , get the epidural. I was 8 cm when i recived it and was the best decision ever. I had no pain , just pressure . I pushed for 2 hrs , and was in labor for 9 hrs total . Let me know if you have questions.
I’m a first time mom and will be giving birth to a beautiful, healthy baby boy this December! 👶🏼💙🥰 scared yet very excited to hopefully experience a natural birth! ❤
Mee to am giving birth this December 2024, have not yet known the sex of the baby, but I can't wait to experience the natural birth experience too, because my husband likes it 😊
What a sweet moment.".Brand new life…God reveals His magnificent POWER in moments like this! Thank you Heavenly Father for enabling nurses and doctors to do this great job!
I’m glad to know the early labor can go for up to 3 days. I’m almost 42 weeks and am getting concerned but the last 24-48 hrs I’ve had what felt like contractions that didn’t last or continue but have come back through out the day. I’m encouraged to know I could be in labor. 🤞
I’m 28 weeks and I’m my last trimester I’m so curious and nervous to really experience labor I know it’s not going to be easy but it’s worth it I can’t wait to meet my baby boy❤
well i will be having my 4th in 2 days and i can honestly say its called labor for a reason. its a feeling you will never forget. its painful, empowering, emotional, and unbelievable all at the same time. Once your baby is out you will forget the pain you endured until you encounter it all over again one day😂 and you will ask yourself why you did it again! And that cycle just continues! lol. its a blessing though. good luck to you and that sweet baby!!! You will be just fine!!!!❤❤❤
I think I skipped active labor and went straight into transition. My contractions were mild, easy to breath through, then i lost my mucus plug and it went from a 1 to an 11 in a few minutes. Baby was born three hours later, only nine hours total. I'm hoping my second comes as fast as my first, because i don't think i could handle twenty four hours of that.
Thank you once again Dr Omole on RU-vid for this information. Since following you (for some years now), my kidney stage results has decrease from stage 3 to stage 1. You saved me from dialysis. Thank you and please keep the videos coming!! God Bless
I only went into labor once and it only lasted maybe 3 minutes and my twin girls plopped out. It was a super strange sensation, like those balls you squeeze for stress. They were badly deformed. I was only about 3 1/2 months along. I had gone to an ultrasound and they said we don’t see any babies in here but some sac material is, my husband and I were confused because we knew I hadn’t had a miscarriage. We left there and a few minutes into leaving I felt very strange pains and I delivered. It still breaks my heart. My other kids were born via c-section and thankfully all survived.
Im 36 weeks pregnant 🤰 with my 2nd baby. Im hoping for a V delivery this time around too. However, i have Symphysis Pubis Dysfunction, im very nervous about the pain in stage 2 labor. Its so hard for me to even move around the house, im not sure how my pelvis will feel once baby drops, But im putting my trust in God, he will surely help me again. In Jesus' name!
Yeah I went from 4/5 cm to my water breaking and baby born in 3 hrs. Zero pushing and I was screaming for the epidural and didn’t make it. 😬 she was born before the epidural could be administered. Woooo that was intense 😅
I've got 3 boys, these videos of women in unbearable pain don't help and aren't realistic. Relax mums to be, it's very uncomfortable but you'll handle it! Good luck, once baby is here it's worth every minute so...try to enjoy it ❤
I agree. American women report having the most painful/fearful labors. Fear causes tension in the body and when we fight it, it becomes painful rather then hard workout. The nervous system believes there is danger so we make it far worse then it needs to be. I have had 4 hospital births, 2 birth center and 1 at home. Home was by far my favorite, fastest. Only 1.5 hours total labor to a big 10lb 23.5 inches long healthy baby boy in our tub! Best experience ever! He was the first time I didn't get afraid and I knew where he was in my body. It was amazing! Now we are getting ready to have number 8 and I have to use the hospital again after stepping away for 10 years. They still fear mongering, pressure interventions that are not necessary (induction for convenience) and get a mom all riled up about all the potential horrible 2% chances. And I am no stranger to 2% odds, 2 of our boys are born with an extremely rare skull deformity that requires surgery for the brain to grow correctly. So we appreciate modern medicine for emergencies. Bit we need to remember, not everything in life is an emergency. Most of the time it is natural, common to all people that we have to rise to the challenge and accept the hard, relax into it and welcome our babies with deep breaths and confidence that we were made for this. It able to be a beautiful experience. ❤
I can’t agree as a first time mom, I was panicked nervous and all I wanted is to push and get the baby out! And my birth honestly considered to be smooth and fast but still I was so afraid due to that I guess I had bleeding which took longer to make it stop than me giving birth which took around 10 minutes to the stitches to stop my bleeding took 30 minutes! And my active labor and transition were also very fast after my water broke at home I went directly to the hospital and I was 7cm dilated and in 30 minutes I guess blood come out which it means I’m ready to give birth I guess and they took me to the labor room immediately.
Not my first pregnancy, but my first one sadly ended in miscarriage, I’m currently 4 weeks pregnant right now. I’m feeling 2 very big emotions, overjoyed, and absolutely positively scared SHITLESS 🤣💀
I'm 37 weeks pregnant today. Been having contractions and cramps on and off for eight days that started with what seemed like the bloody show in the beginning. When last checked I was 1 centimeter dilated. So I'm not sure about the three day thing for latent phase of stage 1 lol but everyone is different. Maybe just intense Braxton hicks but there's dilation and stuff involved so idk. Lots of other signs too. We will see when he decides to come into the world.
34 weeks with my first baby. He has been head down since 32 weeks and I’m hoping he stays that way till delivery. I’m very excited yet nervous but I’m ready for him💓
@@karolinastachowiak1629 drs and hospitals increase the chance of intervention. Doulas are proven by research to decrease the likelihood of requesting medical pain relief and interventions.
I’m so scared (currently 10 weeks pregnant) I know time is gonna fly and birth has always been my biggest fear, praying I have a safe and successful labor and delivery
I just gave birth 4 days ago its was more than 48 hours long almost died this video tells facts and cant explain horror pain and trauma that comes with delivery
Honestly it is horrific, can’t believe how some videos make it sound like you can have contractions and actually do anything else but focus on staying alive
Amazing visual explanation and what a pity that I didn’t watch this before I delivered 😅 Truly a unique, amazing but also really painful experience. Now my baby is 5 days old and I promise the general pain & hardship coming with giving both will be forgotten when you hold your baby ❤
Im 37 weeks with baby 4 and I'm nervous excited and anxious for baby to be here. 😅 i don't feel ready for labor but i don't want to be pregnant anymore.
My first delivery thou, am so careful what I consume coz I hate the tearing part, I just was this baby to drop out no inducing, no tearing, God help me 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
@@dr.paulinemoyaert I'm sorry for anyone who endures a long pushing stage. I had fetal ejection reflex with all mine (no conscious pushing, body just expels baby very quickly), and that was hard enough. I don't think I could do deliberate pushing.
I got placed on pitocin. I think I was in active labor the entire time. No working up to contractions. Just boom. Ohh it was painful but glad I got my girl. It’s gonna be baby boys turn in a few weeks. I hope labor progresses naturally. Need the endorphins.
This was a very dramatic Hollywood version of birth. Mainly because of the stock footage used. In actual birth, mom runs on instincts, and moves to accommodate the phases of labor- unprompted. I've delivered friend's babies and my own. I've never seen labor take more than 6hrs from point A to B. The average is 4hrs. The record holder is 75min. The biggest difference between this video and what I've experienced is the setting. I've been at mostly home births, where it's calm, quiet, and feels familiar/safe. The tub is a bff to a mom in active labor. In a hospital setting, it's usually unfamiliar, with lots of interruptions, and frequent invasive procedures (most mom's don't know they can say no to cervic exams and other unnecessary quips). As long as mom is listed to, it's smooth sailing, regardless of delivery route... but when she feels confronted, trapped, or afraid, her physiological response is to release adrenaline. Adrenaline blocks the reception of oxytocin, the hormone responsible for promoting contractions and doubles as a natural pain killer. Which can stall or entirely stop labor, requiring further invasive measures. It's arguably one of the biggest issues in American Healthcare. Hope that helps!
@@Stop_Infanticide That's really cool (and love the username, btw). My hospital birth was 29 hours with an epi. I've had 2 subsequent home births, 9 hours and 5 hours, respectively. The 9 hour one was absolutely brutal - my midwife said she had to journal it lol and I had the shakes for about 24 hours afterwards, but he was OP (as was my first babe). My 5 hour birth was awesome, same midwife. Finally got to experience an OA birth! The difference was amazing. Unfortunately babe was in distress and needed some minor resuscitation, handled expertly by my midwife. Then the placenta retained - we got it out by the 45 minute mark, it was very close to a transfer situation.
My birthing experience was the last two stages of 1 for 20 hours and not even 5 minutes of stage 2. My water broke and I lost my mucus plug around 5 am and everything below my waist felt like it was set on fire! The only time I felt okay was after I was allowed to push and that didn't last long. I wasn't even aware of stage 3 till after the doctor pulled it out lol
@@fatine I actually had two given to me. The first one failed. The moment the needle went in my back I knew something wasn't right. By the time I got my second one a different nurse gave it to me and I felt so much better. Afterwards I fully dilated. I know I've heard that epidurals make the labor longer but after I finally got the second one my labor sped up and I gave birth not even an hour later.
I want to birth with no epidural, I’m hoping it will be a quicker process since I get to move around and help my baby get into better position. I’m looking into breathing techniques, birthing ball, black out eye cold cover to focus! 17 weeks now 💖
