Others just know how to criticize and demand when they saw one. But not able to teach and share. Balkan knows and have passion to teach. Thank You Balkan For your tutorials. I am learning a lot from your videos.

Your passion in Revit is what i'm interested in more , you go back to what had been done before and try how to do it BETTER and share it with us . So thank you.

You may want to try to use the same material for the in place element, monolithic stairs and ramp. They might join if the materials used are the same for all elements, as Revit has a tendency to not join elements if they have different materials assigned. I will definitely give this a try! Awesome tutorial! I have been looking everywhere for a proper tutorial on how to do stair ramp blends and yours is great!

intersting tutorial. you are good at explaining things. I would just add a few comments (some referred below). Voids and Fills are not necessary for this geometry in particular (although your explanation on the subject is good). you could just extend the boundaries of the stairs and ramps to the right intersections. In this particular case it would be extremely easy to do, and there is no need for any additional reference planes or elevation work - just divide the space of the two vertical reference planes in 4 instead of 3, and all geometry will fit nicely. The second aspect is the category for the voids and fills, that should not be placed as a generic in-place model, but instead stair or floor. This may seem small, but will have huge impact when documenting or controlling the model (and revit is all about data), when you need to sort or filter the information.

You could have lengthen the steps instead of using voids an cutting the ramp. Go to front view an draw reference planes where the steps an ramp intersects. Use these reference planes to draw the outline of the ramp was well as lengthen the steps. Much easier!

Thanks Manuel. So much easier and quicker your way. I added 3 more vertical reference planes at equal distances between the 2 he did. I drew the boundaries of the stair and ramp on those and got to the same result without any void or extrusion…

Thank you for this easy tip but i slightly modify the method using reference planes where sloped floors and steps are intersecting each other and redrawing the sketches for steps and sloped floors as per intersection points and avoiding the heavy use of generic model solid and void extrusion and best part was i had joined the elements of Steps and all flat and sloped floors by just one click after final work without any constrain warning .... By the way Thanks once again for teaching very beautifully .....

hey thanks 🙏🏻. I took about 1 hours and finally drew, but the point is that when you use invisible lines, if your project is linked, the lines are no longer invisible!😁

Thanks for this very useful and informative tutorial. It just a bit tedious to combine the add-on geometry even in such advance programme. I am perfectionist, the bold lines are definitely disturb me especially if modification is required in future.

you can just make the stairs longer entil thay are at the same hight as the ramp or making the all thing wider to lower the slop to fit

Thank you very much that was very useful tutorial . But i think instead of using the generic model for drawing a void that was better the other options like floor to be used. Maybe you could joining the parts. Try it . I try it when I wanted to cut sth with void from my floor

I hope to see some day construction level modeling, with proper slopes for outdoor stairs. All riser stones need to be tilted slightly, to allow rain water to run away.

seems like you could make it without all the model in place voids and extrusions. it would just take a bit more planning.
@legofreak5769
@legofreak5769 3 года назад
I think I found a good solution. you can place a reference plane in a section view at the intersection of the top lines of the stair treads and ramp. then you can edit the boundary of the ramp and stairs to line up with the reference plane.

Nice video, just for the ramp part, use thicker floor and you don't have to fill out the under part

So thats quite satisfactory....but the OFFSETS which are created in your stairs.... Will not be able to carry a wheelchair.... The picture u have shown doesn't have that ....so is there any opt to make the same ?

yes, technically this ladder / ramp would be prohibited in Brazil, as it does not follow accessibility standards. He only taught the techniques of how to do it, now just adapt to your law and see if it is feasible :)

You could also do a series of solid/void extrusions and turn it into a family, right?

or a site component. I've been out of using Revit for a while, so please pardon my terminology if it is off point a little.

That stair design fails when the area is busy. You have able people walking through the ramp and you as the wheelchair user need to stop and wait. Also, stairs in general create tripping hazards and the sloped parts are not even and people will misstep or overstep. I live near a stair designed with a ramp and as a wheelchair user I do not support this design. It only looks sexy from and architectural perspective. But really, making a ramp only is the best option and also nothing prevents a wheelchair from rolling off the ramped surface here. How does that meet ADA or other access codes?
@MJK0627
@MJK0627 3 года назад
That isn't even legal! No handrails and it sure doesn't meet Accessibility codes
@pthkehl
@pthkehl 3 года назад
Here in Brazil it could be legal if the ramp had less than 5% of slope, but then you'd need a 20m ramp to rise 1m, which is impractical to say the least...

I think he's just interested in showing the technique for you to adjust to suit your needs. Thought Revit would have had a more elegant solution seeing how pricey a licence is.
