really useful thanks, one big issue I am facing is that as soon as I confirm the stair sketch, my stair in the 3D view just become invisible... Visible in plan but not in 3Dnor section...really strange situation that never happened to me...have you ever faced something like this?

Why it does not work with monolithic stair. There is a weired visibility issue in 3D. Some portion of the stair gets cut off.????
