I watched without sound and it looked like some VERY professional stuff. Will be using it during my winter work coming up way too soon for me.

I've built several hundred sets of stairs for carpet using 2 x 12 DF. I've only built one set out of oak where everything showed. Gosh, I wish I had watched your video first; fortunately my client didn't expect the quality of stair you built. But I could have done a lot better had I watched your videos, which weren't available in 2006. You are a talented man.

You don't see many people cutting miters on a table saw, but it pretty hard to beat the quality of the cut.

Drywall screws and regular wood glue to hold down the treads and risers ? I don't think so.

Don 't know how to do it but I would even go underneath and brace and screw from there. Plug the screw holes ?

What a waste of material no professional shop would build a staircase like that.

No professional shop could build a staircase like that you mean and if they did you would be paying 4 times the price. The only waste of material the guy could be pinned for is glue. I dont know how many stairs you have seen being made by different companies but ive seen enough in the last 25 years, enough to know that that chap knows what he is taking about. Anyway what waste are you on about? Last time I checked Oregon 300 x 50 is $12plm and you need 3 stringers if you want it to last.

How to you cut the miter on the outer stair skirt?
@alext9067

Don't use drywall screws. They love to snap off and wreck your work. Use regular steel screws. And bugle head screws always try to split the wood they're screwed into. Does that help you? No. Use a screw similar to Kreg screws with a flat surface under the head. Much better. And your graphics were covering the final shot of the work...which i'm sure you saw. Not helpful.

I'd only build utility stairs like this for my workshop - this is a crude build and you'd never get away with a knock up like that under UK building regs. I'm sure they do the job but they wont last 20 years
