Would you like to know how to use a stairlift hand winding handle? Well, we have put together a handy little video to show how they work. Modern stairlifts like the Brooks 130 stairlift demonstrated in this video can be manually moved along track by turning the handle (clockwise or anti-clockwise) to the desired direction. This can be beneficial if the stairlift has overrun at top or bottom and showing error code "F6" for example. It can also be used if a "F7" code appears, which is when the OSG has engaged - insert the handle and turn to reset this error. It can also be used when a stairlift is left off it's charging point and won't move - insert the hand winding handle and move to the nearest charge point, this will allow the batteries to re-charge and hopefully make the stairlift useable again.
