@@SoulNinjaKen well funny but that's what most decks try to accomplish anyway, play as small as possible in-arctype with access to alots of non-engine
@@gamezharks this is closest to my opinion; dlink is what konami is ROUGHLY ok with in terms of adv. its a slightly too good deck that constantly gets outpaced by one or two others that destroy the meta
@@SpagoobIf they go first, nibiru is really good against inexperienced VS players. On your turn, deal with rock first to stop the razen summon, (usually imperm on draw phase or kaiju) if not summon monsters on the link 1 column to force them to pop their own monster too. Bait by setting some cards and ending the main phase if needed to have them use the two big guys to tag out, (they can only do this in the main phase) if you destroy the card they target the summon fizzles. If you go first you just need to negate/destroy razen or make sure they don't have any face up monsters to tag out to. This assumes you've been able to establish enough to do that though. This was super long but hope it helps.
@@Spagoobthe only weaknesses it has are the really bad bricks sometimes and the opponent knowing how to play against the row destroying effects by having correct monster placements. It also helps to keep good track of what they reveal for effects especially if they reveal the same name but it's a different rarity. Also remember that a lot of lists run kurikara and small world, so keep track of your monster activations. If you draw something like imperm for turn going second use it on the rock during draw or standby
SCARECLAW MENTIONED. I feel like scareclaw can do a lot more than people think just on the based of being able to make tri heart on one card combos. That means you can establish basic board and just load up on generics. The deck can also blind second much easier than people think, and being able to go +1 off of reich and tri can’t be understated. You can end on a very average board and have like 3-4 pieces of follow up in addition to that. Honestly the deck just needs astraloud and it’s perfect, astraloud enables you to do so much more than people think.
I feel like Dogmatika Ritual is an incredible powerful rogue deck. It doesn't care about purrely or dlink at all, since it can just beat ober anything with white relic and is obviously immune to the extra deck. The main reason it's bad is because it looses to ANY form of removal from the backrow and also to Fenrir, which is played in almost every deck.
@@sebastianchavez1225 I don't think the problem with Fenrir is that it shuts down so many things, but that he brings so much utility for every deck that plays him. He's searching another copy of himself, he's free material for rank 7s, links and synchros. At worst he's either a face-down banish or baits a negate. But bringing him down to 1 makes the already very bricky kashtira deck even worse
Kashtira made some formats near unplayable with the zone lock and the facedown banish, i'd argue its ok if they are made worse, same with tear. Plus they still have their fieldspell at 3@@Ind3xPlus
Vanquish souls when you draw the playable hand is like the best deck ever but like every 2 in 5 games you're gonna draw exactly 1 ash 1 maxx 2 jiao long and 2 heavy borger and/or you get your stake your soul ash'd and you can't do anything else
2:56 the 2/2 of the babies let you choose to not return them with chaos space Mathmech be like "yeah it's the third best deck but we just had tear and kashtira" fuck it lets kill it - tcg
God I love looking at MBT's chat when he is going over tierlist. They are just, so fucking wrong, more times than not. MBT will say some shit like "Yeah Dragon Link is taking back it's spotlight with a new strategy that works around the current meta even without Chaos Ruler, here are the recent tops to prove it" and the chat will be like "Um actually ending on X interruptions isn't competitive without floodgates, rogue at best."
As a Floo player we have literally been hit either directly or indirectly for the last like 4 or so banlist. Like Konami is scared of the cheapness and the consistency of Floo, there's not much more we can lose before we start losing robina or eglen. I'll still play my Floo deck until they fucking ban everything Konami.
It's very funny that perhaps the biggest "Deck was good in OCG but not as good in TCG" difference that *can* actually be attributed to Maxx C is literally just "It's an EARTH in your hand".
I've found that playing a mix of the VS archetype with the punk cards/packages has some great results, given the fact that the level 3 tuners and lvl 8 ogre make some synergy with VS, not even mentioning having a couple foxy tunes and Deer notes helps into not taking that normal summon for VS
Branded doesn't play nadir because quem and lulu aren't out yet so they rely on allure for consistency, they've also adapted at playing through ash by thrusting into fusion duplication to brafu on the opponent's turn. Also scareclaw is not a going first deck but rather a blind second otk deck relying on its consistent otk engine with a ton of space for boardbreakers and they also just natively play fenrir to help break boards even easier, though unfortunately they don't have astraloud yet
@@dm3124abdefanging is pretty dog too, you can get away with playing twinsaw but it's mostly better to just forget about going first and go all in on otk'ing
yeah i just found out about fusion duplication and it goes so well with branded. if u have talents and they max c u can bass on rindbrumm and set it. it give u plays if u have an awkward hand where u can send brafu to grave but can't send retribution though it is risky and even if u draw it u can do ur normal combo and set it for even more plays in turn 2.
I was so gaslighted by building kashtira as “the next best deck” And “it’s just unbeatable” But now my regret is unbearable Like even after building it I was telling people this deck just suck but they insist that it’s very good. I guess they didn’t want to believe they wasted a lot of gems on a below mid deck
Personally I knew its days were numbered but I had a bunch of decks I wanted to put kash packages into ranging from the other vsauce lore decks to punk to spyral etc. so the investment is very worth it for me. Also it's a fun deck to just turn my brain off and steal games for free against gy reliant decks sometimes given it basically autoplays itself usually and either wins or loses games really fast
@@jimtsap04that if you could bring ariseheart out cause the deck bricks A LOT and in a format where everyone is playing thrust / talent / kaiju I don’t think it goes very well
It WAS very good... in the TCG. But the difference is Kashtira actually had all of their cards at the same time in the TCG, and when it did get hit, the other top decks got nerfed as well so it was still ahead of the curve. In Master Duel, Kashtira has already gotten nerfed like 3 times while the 2nd, 3rd, etc. best decks have managed to get away without any hits whatsoever, making Kashtira fall far behind in the power curve.
My experience is if you don't draw the out, Kashtira feels broken and the whole deck should be banned. If you do draw the out, they're a whimpering puppy begging for mercy. "Draw the out" is my least favorite win con, but Kash is definitely not the only deck guilty of this, which in turn makes it blend in with a lot of other decks...Huh, a ton of decks feel similar to Kashtira, my most hated deck...
@@wolfgod6443 this is 100% true for all decks not just for kashtira all yugioh decks are guilty of drawing the out cause konami build the archtype with very good going first but forgets to put inherited way to break boards going 2nd
Vanquish Soul is a really cool deck, but it’s got some glaring flaws. It’s got consistency issues that run much deeper than drawing mismatched attributes; many hands clog on high level VS monsters that are unusable without the little guys. For a deck that prides itself on having a “low to the ground” gameplan that makes it easy to play around interaction, losing to a singular Ash Blossom on Stake Your Soul is not a good look.
Feels like a deck building issue. I've been playing VS since it came out and ran in it tournaments (and doing so again this sunday) and bricking is rarely an issue. You have so many ways to get to Razen it's extremely rare you only draw a single one so Ash generally isn't an issue at all. Also, I don't see how your consistently having a hand clog issue with this deck either. 2-3 Borger, 2 Jiao, 2 Caesur. The chances of your hand being so filled with nothing but high levels you can't do anything with along with having no way to unclog that hand is just extremely rare and that's assuming you're on 2 mad love 3 burger, instead of 3 mad love 2 borger. Also, while it is extremely true that if you don't have Raizen one way or another your plays on the first turn are much weaker than if you did, if you open mad love or (worse case) Pantera you can still make plays and get set up for the next turn so it's not like your dead in the water as the memes might lead one to believe. You're still in the water but flailing.
@@Adalon-do you play with kash in it? I only play master duel, and the few times I’ve played against VS they’re running enough to make shangra-ira (fenrir, riseheart, and the field spell). They’ll get like 9 cards in hand and 2 VS monsters on field and then surrender after a few turns (I usually play Gunchained so games go longer) even with razen in hand. Maybe they don’t know how to play quite right yet, but it’s so weird.
@@SamI-yq8oc the Kash stuff is absolutely correct in vanquish soul; even in master duel those cards are quite strong. I’m personally only on the 1 Wraitsoth, 2 fenrir, the 1 Riseheart with the Ariseheart in the extra. Idk if running the whole Kash core with Unicorn and Birth is correct though.
@@Raminator243 I haven't seen anyone running the whole kit, just what you described. Only difference is instead of ariseheart it's one copy of shangra-ira. Are there other fire archetypes that can be splashed in besides kash? I really wanna build a VS deck, but I don't think kash is very fun.
I reached master 1 with vanquish soul in like 9 hours of grinding from plat 3. Deck feels so nice to play. Although I remember playing against d link who had borrelend and I locked him with rock tcboo and panthera with Caesar in hand. Then I just burned with borger for game. I am sry but watching that bs boss monster not doing anything is pretty fun ngl. I think only like 3 games out of my 60-70 games were dependant on tcboo since I never drew it going first or second. What carried the deck was the plus 4 you get of borger and jiaolong with a snow devil attached. No one plays board breakers like raigeki/lightning storm anymore so the deck just gets to play without restrictions. Also shoutout to kurikara doing gods work against purrely by crushing their hopes and dreams and being fire. I think my winrate is like 75-80% with a lot of 8-9 game win streaks during diamond. The deck imo deserves its spot in tier two. It’s crazy how good it is when no one plays the counters.
I love Vanquish Soul a lot. It feels like one of the better mid range decks that doesn't need to use floodgates to do anything meaningful (like Dinomorphia)
Unfortunately every other VS deck iv used has found every way to turbo out there can be only one. Otherwise i agree its a fun deck to use and play against. I mixed them with Libromancer and its fun as
Such a bad example and I hate dinomorphia, it's not their fault their in archetypal boss monster is a floodgates, like as in scareclaw as well. Should've just used a continously trap as an ex.
Joshua Schmidt has been an Egyptian Godsend for competitive yugioh discussions. I'm sure he appreciates the free plugs. I'd love to actually see you 2 collab on something.
You talking about Lab/VS being able to play around Maxx C made me realize: what if, in their stubbornness to not #BanMaxxC, Konami has been forced to shift their design principles to make decks able to play around it? If keeping the bug legal means decks by and large need to have plays like normal Razen/Ariana pass be powerful enough to be tiered, is that not the healthy back-and-forth we've been wanting? Obviously, even then Maxx C should probably still be banned. But to hyperbolize, if I had to choose between some version of this meta (maybe with a nerfed Purrely) and Gumblar loop or Adamancipator format without Maxx C, I'd choose the former every time.
Vanqush Soul did not exacly did well in the OCG if Road of the King is to be believed, it got like 8% representation in the month that was released, after that it was just in the 3% range even after Juao Long was released.
As someone who really enjoyed playing pure Ojamas and zone locking with Ojama King + Knight (I wish the tokens weren't just free link material) I was kind of looking forward to being able to do it again but better with Kashtira shame it was high rarity and not very playable.
The last eight opponents I had either surrendered or DC'd on my first summon of Ze Amin for completely unknown reasons, so I'd argue that P.U.N.K. is tier 1 rogue. I just like the pretty colors.
PUNK usually is used as engine for Chaos Ruler so people just dont wanna deal with the shenanigans that card can cause. That or they are just that afraid of PEP control lol
@@sammydray5919 hey, I actually really appreciate the general explanation here for why I'm seeing DC's and surrenders. I'm pretty new to modern YGO and genuinely have no idea about some setups, end boards, etc. Thanks for the info!
Calling Spright consistent is a bit of an overstatement. Pure Spright at least. 2 Blue, 1 Jet, 1 Starter, 1 Swap, and 1 Beaver is absolutely crippling. Your Sprind lines now sorta suck because there’s just nothing good to dump anymore. You’re either dumping a guy to revive off Elf, Angler if you’re playing an additional awful Nimble, or a Swap/Dupe if you already have access to Ronintoadin. The deck has no good normal summons anymore either. The only one that’s actually beneficial is something like Deep Sea Diva to get another body on field and bait some sort of hand trap so your turn doesn’t instantly end if your Blue/Jet/Starter/Gigantic get hit. The deck pure has never really been a top deck despite its consistency due to how laughably bad its endboards are and now it’s the exact opposite of consistent. The Runick Fur Hire Spright deck is by far the best Spright deck, but it only plays 1 apiece of the names and a Starter and the Sprights function more as extenders rather than actual integral pieces of the deck. I’d also be really interested to see if we get a preemptive Geonator Transverser ban in MD before the Gen/Ken stuff come out. Either that or they just don’t because stuff like Silva being banned shows MD takes a bit more of a hard stance against hand looping. Still, I think the Acid Golem line is the least interesting thing being done by any top decks in the TCG. It’s not a lingering floodgate but you can’t easily get the thing off your board without specific pieces of interaction like E-Con or a Book. The only other play that Geonator Transverser sees is in garbage FTK decks like Bishbalkin FTK or the new Ten Thousand Dragon FTK so it’s not like it’s a particularly healthy card to begin with given that it’s always used in bullshit. It’s just that use in a top meta deck makes its ban a lot more justifiable. Would be a much more interesting way to hit Mikanko without actually hitting Mikanko
VS MENTIONED RAAAAAAAAAAAAA. I went from platinum to master 5 over like 2 days. I'm a casual duelist and i dont really know how to stop decks other than like simple ash/imperm choke points. VS being able to interact after like everything my opponent does is so fun. I had multiple 7-10 game winstreaks and everytime I lost was because I just hard draw into 3 borger + handtraps OR full combo mathmech without interruptions. I think mathmech deserves to be like T2. It has like 15 cards that enable 1 card combos and puts up at least 2-3 negates.
I have an burning hate for tearlaments because every time they open hand destruction, braindead fusion, rise heart, and ash or called by in 60 makes me want to jump of the nearest bridge (joke btw) then I draw triple ash, borger and ceaser.
Is it worth it to uncraft my Kashtira list so I can afford Purrely? Been working on crafting a list for a few weeks now just need the URs. and I could make it if I dismantle all of my Kashtira URs sans Fenrir but I don't want the time I put into crafting that deck to go to waste what should I do?
Only if you think you are never touching kashtira again because the loss on resourses can be devastating and you are probably not going to be able to afford a new deck for a long time after crafting the cats. Also its a good idea to wait for the next banlist to see if they hit purrely. Patience is very important if you are a F2P player and most of the times i have made rushed "investments" in decks i've felt dissapointed afterwards.
make sure also test play with purrely with a new account or other means and see if u enjoy the gameplay. no point in playing meta if u don't actually like the gameplay.
thankfully my investment is somewhat secure due to a Royal Rare My Friend. I decided to craft everything except the Purrely URs first so that a banlist hitting Purrely doesn't hit me too badly, think crafting the Ghostrick URs and UDF before Expurrely Noir. And I am excited for Epurrely and the secret pack so I can start pulling FOR Purrely and not just hoping I get URs and turning any archetypal cards I pull into dust (safe for Kashtira cuz I still would like a third Theosis)@@Rahochusosu
I crafted purrely and then dusted it two days later, it's probably more fun irl, but on a sim I don't like having so many things going on at the same time and have my turn ruined due to a missclick.
Commenting here from the vod, I definitely prefer these tier lists to go from good to bad. Placing decks randomly is not really what I look for and is def not a positive like some chat was saying.
My only hard disagree is runick naturia the ability to completely ignore Maxx c and just combo on the opponents turn really makes this deck. Often if you opponent hand traps you the only thing that actively changes is the amount of cards in their hand. Yes there's less runick spells but thrust almost always solves the problem of not being able to draw the out
I get that: Agido, Instant Fusion, Kelbek, and Terraforming are all banned; plus Tear has limits on: Havnis, Kashtira, Keldo, Kitkallos, Mudora, Perlereino, and Sulliek (and the semi-limit on Scheiren). All of those hits, and banning Merrli is what finally sealed the deal for the deck? Konami really did everything they possibly could to keep Kitkallos off of the banlist lol
@@lewisirving2the irony is that Herald absolutely cooks 2x Noir board just as much as it does against the pure Purrely board. Herald prevents the other copy of Noir from activating after it has resolved, so as long as your deck doesn't suck enough to get walled by a big booty, Herald should still win you the game. Edit: I meant to reply to the guy below you my bad
I have to disagree with mikanko vs purelly. If you know you are going second all you have to do is make the rank 1 that prevents you from taking battle damage that turn with your noir and it completely shuts their turn down. Even if they have a kaiju your at least getting 3 quick play spells back with my friend and you’re guaranteed a turn 3 to otk with either ex purelly happiness or some other way. I think mikanko is actually terrible vs purelly.
Vanquish Soul is ok, its HARD carried by handtraps like all bad to mid decks that need the heavy hand trap crutch. look at marincess now a days. plus its MEGA crutch that needs to be at 1 or banned.. Their can be only one. And its crayzy to me that Kash isnt higher, both Ariseheart and Fenrir need Banned asap
It's sad to admit but he is right kash is just too inconsistent even with desires and pathfinder and even the full combo can be beat by one board breaker or even just played through if you deck isn't heavily gy reliant, craziest part is in the matchup against either the mirror or any deck that plays fenrir or talents they have a massive advantage going second because they can make their own ariseheart for free
@@jimtsap04 Exactly. And this is why Kash is much better as a going 2nd deck. The board breaking capability is insane. Basically just play minimal Kash engine (without shits like Ogre or Big Bang) with all power spells. I got top 20 with peak at 60k points on the last Duelist Cup with it
Naaaaah, mathmech is legit tier 1, atleast on ladder, people just dont know how to build it. People for some reason are running bricks like Micro Coder, Dot scraper, Conflict, more than 1 addition or subtraction. If you don't run those bricks this deck has so much space for non engine while being able to consistently make an unbeatable turn 1 through interruption (most of the time). Also droll isn't that bad it usually just stops tour alembertian search which is not that important if you have any normal summonable monster or any extender, or any monster, you might have to send diameter to grave instead of aggregator.
Lab is underrated at this point you can just loop d barrier against purrley for an auto win and you can out grind dragon link. Also with thrust being added you can set virus if they try anything against you. And play anti spell so the blow out cards do nothing . Also going second you have the extra deck for super poly targets. And hella hand traps

Prosperity at 1 so this deck is unplayable is true for most "meta" decks in the current TCG format. Virtually all the top decklist play 3 Prosperities. Such a dumb card that will definitely get limited, if not banned, next banlist. Even Kashtira was not the thread it was in OCG and TCG thanks to Prosperity being rightfully limited. Once it gets hit we will be able to discuss the TCG meta.
