That said, one of the first tasks for the new administration is to review this new deal and make any adjustments so that the partnership becomes a win-win for both parties!

No. There was an open international bid. Ethiopian Airlines, like other serious players, went to the drawing board, delayered every aspect and packaged their proposals and bidded for the proposed Nigeria Air. And then eventually won the bid. Just why these noisemakers did not think it is necessary for them to bid remain a mystery. And why the interviewer, whom I assume should be in the know of this important exercise did not push back on the interviewee's total and meaningless verbiage will also be in the realm of mystery. We like to make so much noise in this country when we should come together as Nigerians in various fields to take real bold actions in all facets to change the course of our history. In 1985 when Emirates started with 2 wet leased aircrafts from Pakistani International Airlines, the then Nigeria Airways had more than 20 aircrafts! We killed the airline and all other State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs). Where were our collective intelligence and proven capacity to manage those institutions? We need to stop all these crazy talks and accept that we have failed and lacked the intellectual capacity to translate and manage a world class airline.

Why is Buhari and his minister Sirika floating a national airline at the tail end of their government. Thereby leaving gabbages for the incoming Tinubu administration to inherit. Buhari knows that he can not champion such a project successfully and nurture it to steady growth during the early years of his government. But he allowed Minister Sirika to turn him inside and upside down leaving Nigeria to bear the consequences and uncertainty that goes with the huge cost of running the airline. The money used in investing in a national carrier with Ethiopia airline as partner could have been used to invest in the Electricity power sectors, solid mineral, Agriculture etc
