Stamp's most recent release in 1/18 is a stunning replica of one of the largest and greatest Cadillacs ever.

I agree with Tyler the photo etch trim is no comparison to the nice thin bright work on the front wheel well openings of the 76 also I see the beautiful Cadillac hubcaps are missing the black simulated vent openings for cooling the brakes, the 76 also had that detail. Headlights seem to be missing the glass lenses, perhaps this test shot is not complete. I hope they do not let any of these go out with the imperfect front bumper, both my 76's came with defects that were touched up with silver paint and made it worse. The increased price is now a standard and that will never go away unfortunately, If the market will bear they will charge! That green dash looks like day glow green! My goodness. Body looks good, grille looks lovely, dig the vinyl top, the 76 vinyl roof texture looked toy like, are the lower side chrome moldings there? The fender skirt trim? Can't tell. I like the window trim moldings, windshield molding. Overall looks good, I know the 1/18's are very expensive to design and produce. Did you guys see the Mitica 62's? Wow they went over and above! True works of art! Mitica might be giving Stamp a little competition in 1/18 Caddy's huh?

Thanks for sharing John. I’m looking forward to this. I will probably add one to my small collection even though it’s kind of redundant to the ‘76 Fleetwood 60 Special I got last year. I’m a bit disappointed the price has gone up so much but I’m not surprised considering the high demand and what these have been selling for on the secondary market. Last year I bought mine from Model Car World for around $262 with the exchange rate (I believe the suggested retail was around $250). I bought 2 and sold the one I didn’t keep for $549 on eBay so I made out pretty well! I see they went with photo etch for some of the metal trim rather than the nice chrome paint they used on the ‘76. To my eye some of the photo etch (especially around the front wheel well) looks a bit chunky and out of scale plus lacks the shape and depth of a painted molded part. Still a very well rendered model of one of the most beautiful cars that came out of the 70’s.

It's a great model. Check with your dealer on the price. I've heard rumors that they may sell for less than Stamp's suggested retail.

@@Kuvakas I just bought two from Toy Car Geek for $279 each (one green, one red) and got $20 back from PayPal so $269 is close to what I paid for the other one. I’m wondering if there will be as strong a demand for this model. I personally prefer sedans of this era and the Fleetwood was a bit of a nicer car but we will see. I’m hoping to sell the second model for a profit as I did before. I did this with BOS models many times also. Most of the Cadillac offerings sold out pretty quickly and then you could make a nice profit on discontinued models. I am shocked at what some of the models I have in my collection bring. I don’t really want to sell them but it is nice knowing they have such high value if I ever do choose to.

@@tyler2610, thanks for getting back. I'm thinking Toycargeek's price is probably about where most dealers will land. Good luck on your secondary sales!

I'm hearing a few beefs about this release hope this is not Stamps new standard for 1/18 Cadillac's, I don't mind paying the price but when you up the price you should also up the detail not cut corners. Mitica's on your tail Stamp.

I think you're response is balanced. There's also the distinct possibility that, in hand, the model presents quite well. I try to control lighting in my videos. But those extreme close-ups will put on display some facets of the model that aren't prominent in person.

I already ordered one in red last month - but after now, after seeing this video review, I'm disappointed with the look of the chrome trim being photo-etch - lacking detailing, looking too flat. I think that separate plastic molded chrome trim pieces or even if it the chrome was painted - would probably have looked a lot better. The overall presentation, paint and quality of the model does look really good though. I'm very pleased with my 1976 Fleetwood that I purchased last year and agree that with the price increasing - this newer model should have better looking chrome trim detailing - even surpassing in detail of that of the 1976 Fleetwood version.

I havwe forwarded your comments to Stamp. Keep in mind this is a preproduction sample. When you get your red model, check back in with us. I'm sure our viewers would like to hear what you think of it once you have it in hand.

I agree to, the chrome painted trim on the ‘76 Fleetwood looked better and more realistic. I also noticed a few bends in the long bodyside molding which defects like this definitely detract from a model. I hope Stamp will revert to the style of trim that was on the first release!
@tyler2610

I just looked back at the photo Stamp put up of this model in bare resin on their Facebook page some time ago and the moldings are all clearly molded into the body so hopefully reverting back to the style of the ‘76 Fleetwood trim will be an easy change from this prototype.

Are you kidding me?? $350 For a car where neither door, nor hood, nor trunk can open?? (If they can, why didn't you open them for us+?), Also is this a cheap RESIN lightweight model and nnot a proper, substantial, heavy DIE CAST model?
@Kuvakas

I'm sorry you don't like the model. It's beautiful in hand. But, this is where the market is right now. You have inexpensive, full featured diecasts that can be found in big box stores and are made in the ten of thousands. There are a lot of folks that enjoy collecting those at $25-$100 or so. You also have plastic models that may or may not have opening features but lack some detail and finish that are usually offered in toy departments for low prices. Then you have high-detail, static models like this one. These are made in very limited numbers, usually a few hundred or so. They will sell somewhere between $150 and $300. There are aslo high-detail, handcrafted diecasts made in very limited numbers that sell for almost twice the high-end resin models (think CMC, BBR). There's something for everyone's collecting focus and budget.
