That's a ripper of a y62 mate, I love it! 140k at first glance seems like an awful lot, but compared with the new landcruiser I'd go the patrol every single time.
In the process of selling up and hitting the road for the big lap with family. Can finally settle on the patrol. Cheers for video mate 🤙🏾 loved the 0 to flooring it
Excellent video, good honest review. Motor looks awesome, its got everything!!! Not sure if I'm fooling myself but I seem to be seeing more and more of these Y62's on the road in QLD.
Looking forward to watching your travels. My TI-L is sitting on a ship in Port Phillip Bay waiting to dock in Melbourne. Getting itchy feet waiting. Rig looks awesome, congrats.
Holy shit batman! Ive just go back from a 6.6k trip to the Gulf & back towing a 2.5t caravan & the fuel usage sat at 18.6. Now Im home, its down to 12.5. Emergency trip to Gympie & back last at steady 100kph returned 10.7. Maybe I drive like a granddad. Love the car tho.
Love it mate, great looking rig. As for dual consumption, I honestly think people get way to hung up on it. At the end of the day we’re moving a house around the country behind our heavily modified cars, they’re going to use fuel. If you went for a cruiser you’d be at $200k to buy/build it and save all of about 2l/ph.
My fully kit out 300 is using only 13.5L/100km without towing. I am assuming a similar Y62 will use 20L/100km. And not just fuel usage, but also the range matters too. But i actually do think patrol is the better choice of money.
Nice Patrol, one thing that really ticks me off and in my opinion spoils the look of after market accessories is the band logos on everything. You paid for the products now you advertise for them.
That looks so sick, such a sweet build! We had the exact problem with our Ranger which is why we had to sell it too! Only had the Y62 a few weeks now and slowly getting stuff done. If you have the money, the GCM upgrade is now available! I unfortunately don't have that! 🤣 Still yet to do the interior LED upgrade!
Awesome rig, can you recommend somewhere to get vehicle wrap in Townsville called around and got quoted $4500 for my ranger not sure if thats a stitch up or normal.
Cheers mate. Yeah that's fully loaded, with the towball weight from the van. Yep. Got an Aussie bulldog travelling with us. Have up lift that fat thing up 🤣
@@thetravellingstamps yeah apparently it's common but within Nissan tolerances. There is a guy on RU-vid who had his TC replaced under warranty and it fixed it. Maybe more of the series 4 had issues like mine not sure.
Mate great vid. I've got a 2023 JB Dirt Road Extreme as well, just waiting for my Y62 pre reg GVM upgrade to happen with Dash. Mate question with your dual battery setup, are you able to connect and draw on that when connected to the caravan? I've only got 2 x 135ah AGMS on the van and was contemplating a dual battery system in the patrol but wasn't sure if I could utilise that additional battery storage while off grid camping.
G'day mate. Yep, sure can. I've plugged my van into the car, and it was like the van was plugged into mains power. Keep in mind, the car inverter is 2000w, so i couldn't run van aircon. Hope that makes sense
@@thetravellingstamps nice so did you connect directly to the inverter or are you able to combine the caravans battery storage and the second battery in the patrol to increase your total amp hours through the Anderson plug and utilise the inverter in the van?
Had to plug into the 240v sockets I installed in the rear. Which is basically just plugging into the inverter. Our car one is 2000w. Van is 2600w inverter. So if we plug into the car, we just limit what appliances we use.
@thetravellingstamps Picked up my 62 last week of October I ended up getting a 100Ah DCS Slimline Lithium put in with a Redarc BCDC 40 charger, 2000w Redarc inverter put under the false floor with the ARB twin compressor and 8 gang switching panel while it was in getting the Pre Rego GVM upgrade. I did get them to install an external Anderson plug for solar into the Redarc BCDC charger for the lithium in the 62 if we stay at camp longer, and I can also plug the inverter directly into the JB DRX to charger the house batteries or to use the coffee machine or induction cooking in the van while staying off grid. So happy with the TiL Y62 build and agree it doesn’t take long to get up into the $ when setting up the car, mine is now into me for $134K and I haven’t put a bar or lights on the front yet, let alone the extras I’m still putting in 😂
nice car just weondering about the maths. "near on 4000kg car towing 3500kg van" ..... GCM on the patrol is 7000kg so how are you 500kg over legally while travelling.
