STAN WEINSTEIN - SECRETS FOR PROFITING IN BULL AND BEAR MARKETS
Stan Weinstein teaches the cyclical stage analysis theory to determine the best time to buy and sell stocks. Using trend lines with breakout trading from consolidation periods. He also discusses the Mansfield Relative Strength indicator which he uses to spot stocks which often make huge gains.
Stan Weinstein is a legend in the stock trading world and many other professional traders have used his methodology to form the foundation of their own trading strategies.
Stan was also the author of The Professional Tape Reader where he became well know from predicting stock market crashes.
Technical analysis of stocks is a subject that has been debated for many years Stan Weinstein does a great job of summarising the most important aspects.
Trading Psychology is one of the most important factors in becoming a successful stock trader, if you can enter the markets without emotion, you are more likely to remain a disciplined trader, and therefore become a successful trader.
One of the primary aspects is that of embracing risk and understanding probabilities. If you fully understand trading probabilities you can fully embrace risk.

Investors have just turned back the clock on the Fed’s tightening campaign and cast aside the Fed fears that ruled them for 15 months. It just gets very daunting to me when I’m sitting there looking at charts and trying to determine if i’m right or wrong! I’ve been trying to grow my portfolio of $300K for sometime now, I would greatly appreciate any suggestions.

Firstly, You could lose it all and you could win it all. It goes both ways. Second, what works for A may not necessarily work for B and you should not be a bandwagon investor. A good number of folks are raking in huge 6 figure gains in this downtrend, but such strategies are mostly successfully executed by folks with in depth market knowledge.

Common things you're told is: Stay in for the long haul, you have a long horizon; the market always comes back; etc. More than likely, you will get mediocre results by relying on them. The close was $168.51 actually, and you would have been stopped out at around $135 for ~20% loss if following his concepts, and never realised that high. Not all trades work all of the time but you need to be objective and not a fanboy. Your portfolio balance wont give a fuck who "Stan tha man" is or is not

Financial Wisdom this is my Favourite video of your channel so far. 😊 And I rechecked the book today. 30 week MA refers to 150 Day Weighted Moving Average (not Simple MA) and not 200 Day. I have also tested it, it works very well for US and Indian stock market and Forex as well. Try it out!

11:40 Unfortunate timing to give a stock name as an example. It felt 37% down just in the following 6 weeks, and it took about 7 months to recover to the initial price. Anyway, it is good to see an up-to-date example of an old strategy.

11:47 just checked the chart to see what came of the stock. If anyone bought in they would have seen a 12% increase within approx 2 weeks and anyone that didn't sell would have seen the stock PLUMMETT to 115. Anyone that had the stomach to wait it out would have seen a 116% gain in a tiny bit over 2 years!! Literally no one talks about this in the comments

at 3.04 you mention a buy order above the 30 day moving average. This is a weekly chart so MA 30 is 30 weeks. is that correct? great video all the same

Great Video. I've been reading the book but this video simplifies it ( i think) so much. Just for confirmation that I am I on the right track. I've been checking it against charts and one I've been checking is FCC (first cobalt stock, Canadian market) and from my interpretation of the book and your video, it is at the start of stage 2 and broke out on the 14 Dec 20. Is this correct ? your feedback would be reassuring.

Stan follows 200 day moving average and not 30 day. Using 200 day helps in filtering better than 30 day. He is looking for very high breakouts.

@@adriandmd This is a simple strategy but a very effective one :). Buying stocks crossing over 200 day moving average with no near term resistance at high volume. Stoploss set below 200 day moving average. Sir, let me know if you have any recommendations for other strategies.

@@av98 I use Stan's stage analysis for the big picture when analyzing individual stocks and the overall market. But in terms of trading I use a 3 ema crossover. I found this to be the best momentum setup to trade breakouts and breakdowns. Swing trading with annual returns of 40-50% plus. (4,9,13,)ema (20,50,89,150,200 period sma) Just need 3 lines to get smashed very close together then wait for the 4 ema to cross any two other MAs. My stop is if price closes on or against me in regards to the 4 ema. Or if price goes sideways for 3 days in a row. This setup works great in stage 2 bull mkts and stage 4 declines.

I have just checked on Steris and found out that Stock has gone deep 169usd to 106usd rigth after you published the Video. The worst prediction I have ever seen in my life!! 😆 😆 😆

Actually, if you followed the process you would have been out at the stop loss for circa 10% loss and back in to a stock which would have achieved perhaps 40%. Just check out our member stats... Its a rookie error to judge on just one trade, you need to look at a large sample of trades😉

Wouldn't a 30 d smooth EMA do the trick to minimize whipsaw but follow the trend? Maybe use HCL3 instead of close price only.

I read Stan's book decades ago, and also saw his guest appearances on Wall Street Week. The strategy provided in the book is well thought out and non-emotional which is exactly what the average investor needs to follow. This video of the book is superb in every respect. Bravo! I've been investing for over 60 years and read over 300 investing books. This is one of the best.

OMG! What a well made video. I can only imagine the effort you must have put to a) summarize the book to fit into a short video & b) to create such a slick video out of the summary Such videos deserve more than 1 million views. But alas! videos with titles like "how to make USD 1 mn in a year" get more clicks than videos like this one. This shows that people always look for shortcuts to make money in markets and thats why they end up not making any money. Excellent video of Stan's method. I read this book back in the 1990's and it has been my trading method since. I combine it with looking for 1-2-3 tops / bottoms and just wait for the turns. Thanks for the vid.

One of my favorite books. An excellent video. Kudos and love the way it's been presented. Thanks for these videos. One small correction though when discussing the stock which fell from stage 3, you've mentioned a 200% decline. Stocks can only fall 100%. The decline from 120 to 40 is a 66% decline.

No. I think that was from a risk perspective, I cant recall, but mathematically impossible for a stock to lose an absolute 200% of course

@ 2:55 you say it must be above 30 day ma to enter, but it's showing a weekly chart, with price breaking out above the 30 week ma....I'm confused, when I set my chart up to have, say, a 20 and 50 sma, on a daily chart that's 20 days and 50 days, right? But when I switch my chart view to weekly, now those lines represent 20 week and 50 week mas, right? Or am I thinking the wrong things?
