Great job. Good feeling when the engine purrs. Put new injectors on my 7.3 IDI and the engine purred. Was running like real bad for a long time before that. Next is the injector pump.
These last few videos have helped me to have a better understanding about the process of rebuilding a fuel injection pump. I just got an old Ford tractor that has a similar problem. Thanks for the information that you passed on.
when pulling the pump you should remove the two screws on the rectangular plate to expose the timing marks and align the marks before removal. when re installing align the marks. Also there is a tool to help when installing the pump to compress the umbrella seals on the pump drive shaft. Nice video.
Great set of videos. This has been the first video I have seen where some-one actually has shown where the fault has been. Just wondering also if any knows why my diesel will start and idle but does not have any power?
Gray smoke indicates late timing. Low power so the low speed portion of the governor is increasing fueling. Back off the spring tension on the timing mechanism.
Well done man. Some people will always find fault with you because as a non expert you dared to go where angels fear to tread. I have rebuilt a G52 Toyota 5 speed and a Ford C-6 automatic transmission and it was stressful and scary both times but they both work just fine.
I was in a world of hurt but managed to get the combine going and it came down to one day to get the beans off. Rough times but i got it done. Thanks for the comment.
was it timed or does that matter when it comes off the shaft like that. i have a 410 d with a shot ring and just bot sure how to time engine when i pull it off
Great video, I have three of these on John Deeres that I need to take time to work on, but was not sure I could pull them off the drive shaft like you did. One on a 750b dozer and one on a that I have problems getting the fuel to turn on. One 5525 is leaking fuel past the umbrella seals and after setting several days you have to pump the fuel back to the injector pump to start it. Thanks, where were you able to sorce the repair kits?
You haven't taken the age of the machine and it being cold into consideration have you? That isn't one of the new machines with all the emissions crap on it.
