The martial arts master Kenzou uses his Stand Dragon's Dream's Feng Shui abilities to their fullest potential, finding the weakest points on the enemy to strike a fatal blow, whilst also determining the safest points for him to stand where he will avoid all attacks. Dragon's Dream is almost invincible in a 1on1 fight.

Kenzou's Dragon's Dream is a Stand that I actually really enjoyed reading in Part 6 Stone Ocean. The idea behind the Stand's abilities comes from the ancient pseudo-science of Feng Shui from Ancient China.
Dragon's Dream reads where the luckiest and unluckiest spots are in an area using it's Luopan compass, and finds the singular point that is classed as the enemy's current weakest point. In opposition to this, it can also find the safest point in the area for Kenzou to stand, making him evade any and all attacks.
Dragon's Dream is a neutral, sentient Stand that strives for fairness in a battle. This means it will tell the enemy information to make the playing field fair, such as describing how it's ability works. It will also tell Kenzou things that the enemy is doing to make the battle fair.

I really like how Araki made a stand that isn't the main problem of a chapter. The whole fight really amazed me because he input the stand user as a way to benefit the stand, instead of the stand doing all the work.

@@SirSadness we know it's a sentient compass able to talk and give orders to its user and also to forewarn their opponents. What makes it very difficult to understand is the feng shui part. For the western audience it's very difficult for them to understand because this stuff only exists in the eastern side of the world particularly in Asia. I'm Asian and even though I am not clearly sure what really feng shui is, it's hard to take it very seriously due to it's very specific sets and conditions in order for it to attack and how it uses the environment much like feng shui to its advantage.

@@marckevinjavier1897 You don't need to know every single bit of info about Feng Shui, Araki tells us what We need to know to understand why this old man has this specific stand. Feng Shui is about energies flowing in different directions and being able to understand and use this information for You're own good. Asian armies used it to go into enemy turf through the right side where the good energy was at. That's why the stand tells everybody around the exact point where luck will be on their side.

Dragon's Dreams is an above average stand fight and is one of the most interesting in the entire series. You can't change my mind. Seriously, I remember reading this arc and being so confused on why everyone was either confused on how it worked or why it was so disliked. I can see why you might dislike it but it structurally isn't a bad fight imo. I lowkey love this fight lmao. It wouldn't get me anywhere but I can type paragraphs on why I think it is so good.

I love how this shows that some stands can be neutral and not simply a weapon for their user, based on the personality of the stand user. Edit: a stand that allows a user to control the movement of their opponents, an illusion based stand, or even just a stand that makes you tougher can negate a lot of dragon's dreams strengths.

The stand may be weak on itself, but is crazy overpowered when in the hands of the user like the original one and can easily defeat anyone, unless the enemy is Dio, i mean he can basically stop time, shows different ways of *f you* and then do a one inch punch.

It's main function is to literally tell the user where to be and where to hit. It's lowkey useless against stands with ability to manipulate space and time or any precise fast power type stand. D4C's Johnny Shooting was the most confusing by far cause it contradicts the rule of "Only the base universe have the corpse parts" depending on which ability u choose to interpret the event.

@@midnight-fox7456 You know in some games (let's say Pokemon), a move that will surely hit an opponent without fail has its precision/accuracy as None. This could be apply to Dragon's Dream as its prediction is absolute and will not fail, having precision stats indicated that it will sometimes not become reality, or the reality is alternated by actions like we seen with Thoth (which has an E in precision despite it's future prediction is alway correct, but only correct if perfectly executed). DD provided coordinate and attack direction, the rest is up to Kenzou (and FF) to take advantages of it. While Thoth future depends on users' action, it's the users' action that will make the prediction of DD to become real.

Personally i never found Dragon's Dream to be too complicated, i more or less ubderstood it perfectly well Can't wait for when he gets animated though, i wonder if he'll have a snarky tone of voice, i always headcanonned he sounds like he's constantly being snarky at both his user and the enemy

You say that Dragon's Dream is based on the Azure Dragon of the East (Seiryu/Qinglong) but I think it's actually based on the Golden Dragon (Kohryu/Huanglong) due to how it sits at the center of the compass.

I headcanon the idea that dragons dream is not a unique stand but rather is a stand that represents the idea/energy of Feng Shui, similar to hermit purple being a manifestation of Hamon. Anyone else who is proficient in the principles of Feng Shui could utilize this stand

Essentially Awaking III leaves controls vector space. Each of its arrows represent a X, Y and Z axis and can use these arrows to redirect and create force in a certain direction

Dragon's Dream wasn't a very good fight in part 6, but I feel like it was only made worse by the fact that a lot of people sped through Stone Ocean just to get to quickly get to SBR. There was far too much time spent explaining how DD worked instead of simply showing it, because it was a bizzare concept. I feel like it'll be a lot better once the anime comes out.

Apparently, Kenzou jabs at a cervical spine bone and somewhere else, causing both all the air in your lungs to be expelled at the same time adrenaline rushes up to your lungs, causing you to drown.

I think part 6 will be very good once it gets animated. The storytelling in the manga is clunky and that's why it comes off worse, but the anime could refine that.

Nice video! I always found the concept behind Dragon's Dream pretty interesting. A stand where the user has to do the attacking while the stand itself is just there to aid the user. How do you decide what stand to analyse?

When you cover stand from part 5 and so on, i suggest you quote a stand explanation page description from the manga. I see many people don't understnad ability of some stand because they didn't read the description.
