Oh how is WISH I WISH I HAD A Teacher like him when I was in high school. His passion of teaching others is so wonderful and he KNEW ANYONE can do it! RIP Jaime...you'll always be remembered!

i watched this movie last night for the first time since it came out

It certainly is. Jamie was such a great man. I'm very pleased with what he did to help hall of his students prepare for whatever they chose to do after graduating from high school. And I know he'll always live in our memory. RIP, Jamie.

R.I.P Mr. Escalante! If this great, great man and his students aren't proof that you can succeed in life, regardless of who you are and where you come from, I don't know who or what is! Oh, how our schools would be so much better if we had many more teachers like Mr. Escalante! You know, ones who actually cared about their students!

just finished watching the movie today with my english class and i lued it! wow he died! i cant believe it!

Chicanos aren't burros because when placed in the correct environment and given the right motivation, we can be become thoroughbreds. However, as Mr. Escalante, has showned the world, the student needs to have the desire (Ganas) to become successful.
