Hullo Wild, I am wondering exactly what is the difference between stand oil and safflower oil? Can they be used interchangeably? Have you tried just using oil for cleaning as well as a medium? I have seen this method of oil painting to eliminate the use of turpentine or petroleum mineral spirits. I am forever confusing fat over lean when thinking about the elimination of thinners like OMS even turpentine based thinners/cleaners. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and expertise with us "

The first question is a big one for YT so I would say google it for a detailed comparison BUT I can give you my perisomal input on it. Stand oil is thicker than S-flower which allows it to have a smooth/glossier finish (les brush strokes' too). Both dry slow but S-flower dries a tad slower. Stand Oil can yellow over time if used with thick layers while S-flower has less of a chance to yellow. Many keep asking me on how to clean brushes without OMS or Vapors or Chems.... So I will do some research and testing and make a video on it for you all. Hope that helps buddy
