GETTING STARTED 0:09
Perform a factory reset to clear the memory. Press and hold the on/off button, use a paperclip or similar object to press and release the reset button, and continue holding the on/off button until you see “INIT” (initialize) on the display.
Select your “LANG” (language) using the + or - buttons and confirm by pressing the on/off button.
CHOOSE TIMER FUNCTION 0:43
Choose either STD (standard) or DOWN (countdown) FUNC (function) using the + or - buttons to make your selection. For this video, we will keep it at STD and press the on/off button.
SET UP 1:00
To begin set up, press the mode button, SET UP will be displayed. Enter setup mode by pressing the on/off button. Use the + or - buttons to choose the current hour, and be mindful of the AM/PM setting.
Press the on/off button to choose the current minute, and confirm your choice with the on/off button.
Select the year (Pause), Month (Pause), and day of the month, then press the on/off button. You’ll see the current day of the week, then confirm with the on/off button.
Choose DST (Daylight Saving Time) setting for your area. (For this example, we choose Auto.)
Choose a Time Zone: Central, Eastern, Atlantic, Newfoundland, Hawaii, Alaska, or Pacific time. The full list is located in your instructions.
Choose your country, we selected the USA, and press the on/off button to confirm.
INPUT LATITUDE & LONGITUDE 2:34
Next, input your latitude and longitude. You can find your Latitude and Longitude with a simple internet search.
The default numbers you see on the display should be relatively close to your actual location based on the choices you’ve made for your country and time zone. First input your Latitude, then Longitude, then press on/off to confirm your choices.
The time for Dawn will now be displayed. You can offset this by up to 99 minutes with the + or - buttons, but for this example, we will keep the current time for Dawn and press the on/off button.
Next, the time for Dusk is displayed, we will keep this setting and press on/off.
PROGRAMMING THE TIMER 4:38
Press the mode button to enter PGM (programming) Mode and press the on/off button. You can select from 3 different templates or choose a custom schedule by pressing the + or - buttons.
T1 sets the timer to turn on at Dusk and off at Dawn.
T2 sets it to turn on at Dusk and off at 10 PM.
T3 is on at Dusk, off at 10 PM then on at 5 AM, and off at Dawn.
Find the list of Templates in the written instructions and download it from the ST01 page of our website. For this example, we will skip these templates with the + button and set a custom schedule.
CUSTOM SCHEDULE 5:23
A “1” will be displayed on the screen, indicating that you’re setting the first custom event. Press on/off to enter.
With the + or - buttons, choose if this is an ON or OFF event, to Skip this event, or Erase what’s been programmed.
For this example, we are setting an ON event and confirming by pressing the on/off button.
Next, select either Dawn, Dusk, or a specific time with the + or - buttons, then press the on/off button.
Select which days you would like this event to occur. You can choose all days, individual days of the week, Monday thru Friday, or weekends.
We will choose Monday through Friday and press the on/off button to confirm and save this event.
To set a new event, press the + or - button while the event number is flashing.
For Event 2, we will have the timer turn off at a specific time. Press the + or - buttons to bypass Dusk and Dawn until you see a time displayed, then press on/off to set the hour.
Next press on/off to set the minute and press on/off to choose the days for this event. Then press the on/off button to confirm the days and save the event.
To set a new event, press the + button to advance. When you’re finished programming, press the Mode button.
Your display will return to the current time.
MODES 7:40
AUTO mode allows all preprogrammed schedules, as well as manual overrides with the on/off button.
RAND (random) mode will adjust the programmed on and off times within + or - 15 minutes each day for security.
MAN (manual) mode disables any programmed schedules and only allows operation with the on/off button. For this example, we will return to Auto mode.
And you’re done! You’ve successfully set up and programmed your Intermatic ST01/EI600 astronomic timer in STANDARD mode.
