Thank you for sharing. We recently lost my 9 YO Standard - Bear to a sudden illness. My family is in shock and our hearts are broken as we are coming to grips with the loss of joy, love and loyalty he brought. Just like your Odin, our boy loved to be with us, chuck it ball, cheese, walks in the woods. His expressions and extending paws were so similar to your dog. Watching Odin was like watching Bear. Bear had an incredible ability to forge relationships with my family on an individual level. He knew just what each of us needed as a companion. Standard Poodles are just wonderful dogs. Smart, expressive, athletic, loyal, and just kind. Maybe in time there will be new boy, but Bear can never be replaced.

@@juliagraf We had our apricot Standard poodle for 14 yrs.We adored her She was so affectionate Loveable .kind and our best friend.It is over 20yrs that we lost her a d due to health reasons could not have another although she could never have been replaced.our family grew with her.Shainie was the most beautiful friend a d part of our family.

Odin is adorable. We’re picking up our new miniature puppy in one week. Can’t wait. He’s not our first, so we know how wonderful poodles are already. I think they’re the best dog in the world to have. Thanks for sharing a day in Odin’s life. He’s so, so sweet.

We definitely had some challenges along the way but I think now he is turning into a very obedient doggo, but definitely had some growing pains in the rebellious teenager phase! lol

What a beautiful dog and wonderful companion. There is just nothing like a Poodle -- a life-changing experience! Great swimmers (they have webbed toes), retrievers, and are so elegant, all with a sense of humor.

Julia, I have a chocolate standard poodle named Dutch. My wife and I got him 3 years ago. It's amazing to see the similar mannerisms and expressions. I really felt as if I were looking at Dutch. Everyone should experience bonding with a standard poodle. They notice and anticipate even your slightest movement. Great video Julia. Enjoy Odin.

Sweet video! Odin reminds me of my love Jack who passed away this summer of kidney disease at age 12. Jack was a lively, affectionate comic, full of ideas that often lead to crazy antics. Wherever Jack was where the party was! He brought us much love and laughter. Even though I still am lucky enough to have have Jack's sister and litter mate, Annabelle, our house is so quiet without him.

I did but I’m not in the above Q$A. I bought a 13 week old standard female she’s red. I’ve had her a few weeks. A very loving precious dog that was potty trained completely within 10 days. She sleeps the night away in her crate. Knows sit and down. Learned her name in two days. We adore her.

Odin wasn't keen at first, he always loved water because it's in a Poodle's nature (they are water retrievers) but he got scared when it got too deep. I just kept at it and this year he properly began to swim and now he enjoys it. Just keep at it! I think dogs pick up the habits of their owners, so if you go swimming often and encourage your dog to join you, he will eventually want to try it out. Never force or throw your dog in the water, otherwise they will be afraid! Baby steps :)

He is so adorable nd handsome i luv wen i get the chance to come across ppl who care nd luv 4 their dogs the way u do. Keep it up dogs deserve nothing but the best from their owner. It is a shameful embarrasing nd heartbreaking thing to say that not all ppl feel the same. Nd many many dogs live a very sad horrific violent painful life...

what a sweet boy! I've been thinking of getting a dog (I'm scared of them because of barking, but I've done research and poodles are very gentle and easy to train and smart) when I'm older (and can afford a place with a yard) to help me keep myself up- its a lot easier to get exercise when you need to take care of a dog. I adore every poodle I've ever met! I have to ask where you are for the water to be so perfect and crystal clear! stunning scenery
