SESSION DESCRIPTION
Recent developments of molecular, genomic and data science tools have allowed us to test complex hypotheses providing crucial insight on the relationship between the early-life environment and life course health. Epidemiological data provides support for the critical role of the prenatal and early-life environment in the developmental origins of health and disease. Epigenetics modifications have emerged as key biomarkers connecting this sensitive window of development with disease risk. This presentation will introduce epigenetics and its use in biomedical research along with key findings highlighting the influence of the environment on our genes.
