I bought a #93 about 30 years ago for a woodworking class I took. Today it seemed like the right tool to correct some binding casement windows. Having not used my #93 in awhile, I was a bit rusty on how to adjust the plane. Over the course of an hour I figured it out, but this video would have got me there sooner, plus this video reminded me of some other things the #93 can do. The original poster's narrative style could not have been more to the point.

I've noticed you have a number of planes, i now have about 60 over the years, retired cabiner maker and i just aeem to find them without looking, or maybe it's the other way atound. My shoulder plane ia a Record # 73, 11 lbs and a 1 1/4" blade, love it and only use it for teimming tenons, sometimes touching up rabbits and would not be without it. If you do hand tool woodworking you really have to have one which ever one it may be. Enjoyed the 71 1/2 vid, ive got the 71, alkost the same and a 271 which is a small version without handles and love it for cleaning mortises like hinges on cabinets and doors. There is a book on the stankey hand planes from the beginning whixh is invaluable for dating and types made by Stanley, and many peopke never new about. Luv your presentation on these somewhat forgotten hand tools. Appreciate your passion. Tgankyou.

I think I have about 30 plus. Afraid it's hopeless. Can't seem to walk by one at a garage sale or junk store without at least thinking about buying. Thanks for your kind comment.

Was actually researching these today on eBay (the 90 & 93), mainly just to complete my minimal beginner plane kit (currently a #4-1/2, #6 and Record #405)… don’t know if I really need it tho, since I don’t plan to do much rabbets or tenons anytime soon…and can always use my bench chisels.

I agree, I got this because I found it in a group of planes at one estate sale. Thanks for the comment

Thanks for the comment. No, not San Pellegrino Mineral water on the sharpening stone. Just a bottle I use in the shop. Thanks again.
