Michael Grade who was in charge of London Weekend Television told Baxter that despite enjoying his shows, they were becoming too expensive and LWT wouldn't be doing anymore. It was a shame as Stanley Baxter was by far a more funny comedian than Benny Hill.
So funny how loads of young RU-vidrs today talk like Alan Whicker! That sort of laboured delivery and weird intonation that Monty Python and Stanley Baxter mocked decades ago.
