how's different to use your old French Press and put your coffee in your ordinary Stanley cup???

It's more about being streamline with what you're carrying. It has a Sipping area built-in to the lid, no need for an extra cup unless you choose to take one. Great for sightseeing outings as a one source 👏 solution 👍.

I've wondered if you could use this backwards, put the coffee on top of the press and just pull it all out. Maybe easier cleanup?

I'm not sure what to say, because that has never been an issue for me. The first thing I thought was that maybe the grounds are too fine? If you are losing grounds in your coffee, I would reach out to Stanley or exchange that one, because mine has never done that. Let me know what happens.
