Vegas odds say the Oil has no chance of the reverse sweep. However, after being a dogpoop team until the 2nd week of Jan, they rolled together an 8-game streak and then a 15-game streak. They literally won 25% of the regular season consecutively. I hope they can do it: 1) Break the Bettman Curse 2) it would be over the top dramatic to have an underdog complete the reverse sweep 3) it is better for the Great Game to have the best player in the world to be a champ 4) it would be another point of evidence showing the world that hockey is the greatest team sport on earth.

Tkachuk looked like an AHL player when he was on CGY playing against McDavid. Totally different league. With that said, he’s clearly found a great fit with Florida and is a good player. But by NO stretch of the imagination is this guy the #2 player in the league, if that’s what you’re implying. He’s not even close to the 2nd best player in this series. Like I said, when he was on Calgary his line consisting of himself, Gaudreau and Lindholm looked like AMATEURS compared to McDavid and Draisatl. I can honestly name 10-15 forwards that are bigger difference makers, and atleast 5 defensemen too.

Bob aka Swiss cheese never deserved it to begin with. IMHO, he is not the reason this panthers team is where they are. Anyone who watched them play all playoffs will know this. Afar from a few games where he bailed them out, this Panthers team and structure is what carried them to the finals. He was more part of their losses then he was of their victory. Their is at least two panthers I would give it to over him. But I agree, regardless of outcome of the series, this should be McDavids CS. What he has done throughout the playoffs and especially now in the SCF, is very impressive.

The only reason the panthers won any games at all was because Oilers were having one of their infamous cold streaks. Now they are playing normally and this is the result. Every sports analyst picked Oilers to win the cup because they are simply the better team.

@@RogerDawson-ko5ns There are also several logical reasons why Edmonton has the edge. They are better on special teams, and are technically out-shooting the Panthers in this series so far. Knoblauch's Oilers have a greater goal differential and regular season points percentage. The main concern is running out of games to play, but there is a certain logic when it comes down to measuring the Final result.

Digital advertising on the boards shouldn’t distract the TV viewer from the game. It certainly shouldn’t be allowed to move or change during play. For example, when that SUV moved across the screen at around 1:01, my eyes went off the puck to follow it. I miss the days when there was none.

As a Quebecois, this SCF truly is like Christmas to me because it's a win/win, no matter the outcome. Either I see the cup brought back home and thousands of Floridians seething, or I get to see Corey Perry lose a fifth SCF and thousands of Albertans seething (they are the Canadians who hate Quebec the most). Btw I think it's cool that you're a Habs fan from NYC! I'm from MTL and I always root for NY in the playoffs when the Habs are out. I've always considered New York to be the unofficial sister city of Montreal, they have very similar architecture and vibe.

When down 0-3 in a series, I figured my Oilers might win the 4th game, but coming back would be near impossible. Now down 2-3 in a series and it actually feels plausible. It's still a hell of a mountain to climb but I'm here for this. Bob doesn't feel so insurmountable anymore. Special teams looked great tonight. Edmonton will be jumping come game 6.

I'm a big fan of Bob from years now so I've been wishing the Cats to win the Stanley Cup so the Russian goalie can conclude his NHL journey with all trophies. I still except the Cats to win. Now that said, I just don't understand how there are people who cannot like McDavid. If you love ice hockey, you just cannot hate the player he is. I don't care he still doesn't have any Cup. He's not responsible for the bad trades nor for the goalie being average or the Dmen being good at everything except to defend. This guy is just on another planet. He's in his own league. Refs, if you think that officiating was close to fair your delusional. Panthers goal, then clean lifted stick results in a powerplay goal for Edmonton. Another Cats goal, not minute later clean stick on stick contact gets called. Then we lose the plot. Blatant hook? Better call embellishment. 7 men on the ice? No problem. As an Oilers fan who completely counted this team out after the first two games where they clearly had no answers for Florida, I have no words. I was dead wrong. This team has all the momentum in the world and this might just be the year we see a reverse sweep. Regardless of how the season ends the Oilers have a lot to be proud of. Epic performance from McDavid, and now Rogers Place is probably going to cause some serious hearing loss for an awful lot of people attending Game 6 on Friday night in Edmonton. The momentum of the series has definitely shifted, and Bobrovsky has to deliver a massive personal performance between the pipes next game in a very hostile building to swing it back in favour of the Panthers. Predicting here that Game 6 will probably feature tighter checking and need OT to be decided.
