Another bloody great show shame they can not make comedy like this i miss the good old day

my dad has been a bus driver since the 90's and he always said that he wanted to have a go on this skid test. whenever he talks about it he has a massive grin on his face like a madman, and yet he's one of the most careful drivers in the company.

All the sitcoms I liked watching in the 1970s have been banned or carry a warning before they start. Mrs Slocombe’s cat still makes me laugh

Great scene. When I saw this first time, I was surprised to see them use the LT skid pan. RM 200 was new in January 1960 and is now preserved.

It wouldn't surprise me if Reg Varney did that himself. He qualified as a bus driver and held PSV license so he could drive the bus himself during location filming.

Reg Varney actually had A PSV licence and drove some of the buses himself

My uncle Fred was a driver out of Hackney garage at the time. He always insisted he did the driving for the skid pan scene. Same height and build as Reg Varney.
