Great video , I love stanton stones luckily I live fairly close by and have always been drawn there. Energy is strong it's very healing for me, often I will meet someone interesting there that after feel as I was ment to meet that person my last visit spent a hour speaking and sharing thoughts with a lady that I realised after is a very talented numerology writer. Spent many a summer there (my aunt lives in the village) was always mesmerised by the stones. My cousin had his wedding reception in a huge marquee opposite the druids arms in the field and the stones made a perfect backdrop.
They are creepy. I can see them watching. Nice music, as always. Love it. Was just looking for aghast on vinyl. Strange. The best independent docos around. Cheers!
Thanks Thomas, yes I didn't feel too great when I was over there yesterday, I felt like I didn't really want to stay and started to get an unpleasant and oppressive headache and as I left the site the headache subsided and I was ok again. I had trouble sleeping last night and was a felt extremely irritable all afternoon actually. I did enjoy sitting with the 3 stones at the cove which are situated in the druids arms beer garden. Thanks for the video x
Yes, the site is extremely creepy. Regarding the ditch, the stones are very close to the river Chew, so maybe they filled it with water from the river. The concentric circles of pits probably have held wooden posts, maybe as a Maze. The site is in a valley, so you can imagine travelling to it, and looking down from the surrounding ridges, at a big gathering of people, with their animals, tents, and campfires.
I saw human figures in some of the stones. They may have been human sacrifices or conquered enemies. Please don’t rush the camera in between pictures. Thanks.
Stanton Drew is situated in the County Avon, not in Somersetshire. Pity you found the site oppressive, it is merely due to your mindset facing mystery. You did not mention the stones of the larger circle are breccia, a plan of the astronomical alignments, and a groundplan of the wooden concentric circle would have been a boon.
