Star Butterfly Full Cosplay Walkthrough *INCLUDING WAND* 

Just came on to say thank you - my daughter's 9th birthday party was yesterday and she was Star (we were King and Queen Butterfly, son was a laser puppy!) Thanks so much for such an easy and thorough tutorial! She was completely blown away by her comiccon-worthy costume and accessories, and I have you to thank for it! :)

This is amazingly helpful! I just recently discovered the show and I already watched all the episodes! I can relate to Star so much and this is honestly my favorite show ever! I'm gonna cosplay her in April and I am on the process of making my cosplay. Already have the wig, the dress and the tights... but I needed to know how to make the headband, purse, shoes and wand and I AM SO THANKFUL I GOT TO WATCH THIS. Tysm!!!! Me and my gf want to cosplay star and marco for halloween and this is really helping us a lot to prepare the costumes! We LOVE it, great cosplay and skills! Though, we have a 3d printer for the props and other parts and we also don't care about the budget because we want these costumes to be as durable and accurate as possible, so I think we'll win >:D (joke, not a competition haha ;) loved the video btw)

Hi ! Great tutorial :3 If I can just give an advice here, heating up the foam strip that goes in between the two stars would have made it easier; And before painting, you should try to apply a base primer coat such as mod podge or flexipaint or whatever.. It makes the paint stay on much better and keeps it flexible :3

OH so Melanie I found out something super helpful when I was making a paper mache wand; I just traced the bottom part of a big ol' water bottle x3

Can you explain a little more on what you did for the dress? Like, what fabric you used, and how you did the trim?

Please answer this comment because it would help me soooo much, where the skirt and the top part is sewn, did you use an elastic so you would be able to fit in the dress better or is it just box pleased but smaller. I REALLY WANT TO MAKE THE DRESSSSS

I was curious about the trim on the dress and sleeves, what kind of fabric did you use so it wouldn't fray?

The poster tube tip was a lifesaver! I wish I had used hair dye or even Rit dye. I used fabric markers, which almost blew out my budget. Live and learn! :) Thank you also for sharing your experiences with the boots. I almost cried when you said the tip broke as you were walking. I used some Crayola craft clay that my daughter already had to make the shape of the spike/ horn thingies, and covered them with white duct tape, and then taped them to her rain boots. I used purple duct tape over rain boots and then white duct tape for the teeth and eye details. My kiddo is 10, and she is wearing her costume to her school Halloween parade. For sure, they will get stomped on with all those kids, and I am hoping that the duct tape will hold the shape of the spikey thing if that happens. Star vs. The Forces of Evil is a wonderful show for girls and women. Even though this costume has required more time and money than I could have dreamed possible, it is worth it to pay homage to something that is so forward-thinking. Thank you for sharing all of your hard work. The end result was amazing, and the music you played in the background kept me feeling optimistic about whether I could pull off such a big project! WELL DONE!

Quick questions about the wand! So you said the Apoxie sculpt adheres to what you put it on, but do you think it could be used in place of foam or does that just seem like an accident waiting to happen? I was considering using the Apoxie sculpt for the wings of the wand and the rim of the center of the wand but what do you think?
