One thing to note about the QED is that it has two modes which both jam, not just the one: - Snare: 20km interdiction AND jamming - Dampener: 2km only jamming Also for using the Snare itself there is a tool called SnarePlan that helps one to just use the Mantis in an interdiction scenario overall.
Honestly, this ship needs a medium quantrum drive and medium tank. Its whole existence revolves around sitting in the middle of nowhere and pulling ships out of QD, but it itself doesn't have the QD needed to follow if the target moves out of it's QED range.
@@asog88 Fastest S1 drive is the military VK-00. With the Mantis' 1000 units of quantum fuel, it can reach 54mkm, just shy of the run between Arccorp and Microtech. So it is in fact stuck with the fastest *civilian* drive, the Atlas, which is still quite a slow drive.
@@NozomuYume Yup, I know. I used the Spectre pretty exclusively when I had the Cutter. I was responding to the comment about fastest drive going across Stanton above.
Note: This is the only ship currently that can pull ships out of quantum. Others like the Cutlass Blue and Antares can only tackle ships in normal maneuvers and prevent them from jumping away. There aren't really any alternatives to the Mantis for its role.
Had one for a few days. Honeslty one of my favourite ships aesthetically but general use as a law abiding solo is next to nothing sadly. Thankfully I've got the Zeus CL and ES ready for my fleet
I love this ship. I love the interior living spaces, while being a “fighter” plus it has a quirk. But its real life money cost is too high IMO. I think it’s place is being the lowest price point of a ship with these capabilities works. It’s biggest rival is the cutlass blue since it can even do bounties where you bring the person in. This tag teamed with a hawk would be a great cheap way to tag team a bounty though I just need the mustang beta to have another way inside than going through the pilot seat
It takes time to charge that snare and if they're out of dampener range, they can enter nav mode and they'll escape as the mantis needs to be in scm mode for both dampener or snare.
I don't like this ship (when I found out that it was a "warp stopper" that just fueled my dislike for it, lol) But I might rent it for the reason you stated.... Box delivery, lol Great video But maybe stretch them out a little like one every week or other week just to give them some breathing room, and also to not have "Tuber burnout" (you're one of the good ones for star citizen content and I want you around for a long time, lol) Just an opinion

I had no idea this ship had an interior. I love quirky shops and want one now. If they could just reduce the price to half? 👌 I guess I’ll have to stop giving all of my money away and buy it in game. Now if they would only rework the mustang beta and let me bypass the pilot seat through a ramp or elevator… or just bypass the seat via the ladder
