Every new ship makes MSR owners cry xD The MSR needs so many things and has so many things it doesn't need at all... Hopefully they add a docking port, a second entrance be it a front ramp or a ladder, and an improved layout for the server and turrets. And remove the useless elevator.

I appreciate that you took the time to actually show the cargo side of this ship and not making a hasty review. From what I've seen, the tractor beam will need a serious makeover to handle loading and mostly unloading this ship manually.

Very nice tour. I really love, that it was not just showing the ship, but you also included the cargo run - which is exactly what we like to see - for a Cargo ship. Big thanks for that. I like the ship tractor beam, but I hope one day ship tractors will work same as the ATLS tractor. I like the planing where to put which container, but not all the "bumping" around to get it there. And a perfect title ;-) Looking forward to your next videos.

For everyone wondering the Zues CL Cargo Grid is 3 tall x 5 wide x 8 deep! With 2 side spots of 2 tall x 1 wide x 2 deep! 120+8. From the all the videos I think there is maybe an additional 8 Maybe 10 non Grid cargo space

Tomato: "the URSA does not fit in this ship" Cpt.Foxyloxy: "with the wheels on..." HAHAHA, just SC things... NURSA fits fine once you shoot the wheels off. lol I can't wait to get my CL in the PU. Gives me a reason to log back in. Every time I try to play, I quit after 15 minutes now, usually because of bugs. I haven't really played since before MM came and a bunch of keybinds changed. Everything is new and weird now.

I seem to recall an interview where they said the number of relays (and by extension the amount of redundancy in the ship's power grid) is based both on ship size and on ship role. In the Hammerhead example, military ships have more redundancy so that a single failed relay won't disable critical systems. No idea whether they're still keeping to that idea, of course.

It seems they replaced relay redundancy with fuse count. Larger ships have more relay boxes, military ships have more fuses per relay box.

The work on the ramp was to add these glascovers to reduce the entrance space so an Nursa dont fit.

Watching your tour was enthralling, despite also playing multiple days each week, myself. Anyone saying 2024 has been a slow or boring year for SC is just nutso. It's a wildly different game than it was last year in so many ways, fundamentally and graphically. Multiple star systems is gonna be completely bonkers, incomparable to how it is in Starfield or NMS. I feel like even 5 star systems will probably feel like an overwhelming amount of places to see and experience. Let's go, Benoit!

5:50 One solution to the component access problem you cited: the “lock ports” control should lock both exterior ports and interior component bays. That way, intruders have to control the bridge space in order to open component access doors. If a ship has an engineering console, that console might also have a control to open component bays.

However, a determined pirate would just need to use a cutting laser on their Multitool, like the one shown during the SQ42 "I held the line trailer" and that has been discussed a few other times across CIG channels, to cut a hole in the acces panel.

Absolutely true. But let’s face it…any impediment to hostile actions is really not much more than a delaying tactic to possibly give the owner time to mount a defense. “A lock only slows down a thief,” as any good locksmith will tell you. 😊 And frankly, it will be great to finally have a use for the cutter!

@@mracicot very true, I imagine in future those kinds of panels will be ID locked, so only crew members with permission can access them, also provides an opportunity for hacking, depending on your tools and skills

@@mracicot oh also in terms of use for the cutter, I imagine we'll be getting when maelstrom comes in, which will also allow us to cut open doors and cargo bays, replacing the current "shoot to open" system

Ooh, yeah, that’s a good thought! Imagine a new multi-tool hacking module out some other handheld tool… if you can’t hack your way in, cut your way in. Ahhh, the possibilities! (First, though, CIG: please fix basic functionality like clipping, map malfunctions, ship features for ships already in game, etc, before adding more new features!!)

The tobi eye tracker link from the description isnt working for me. Could be a firefox issue? Also a really nice bit of easy polish from the kerbal space program side of RU-vid is to mute in game music and add the track back in post so it doesnt cut around while watching

I am very leery about storing gear on a ship. I have had stuff in storage and lockers, then my ship gets destroyed by some bug and when I get it back, the gear is all gone. Hopefully in the near future, ships won't be destroyed too often and the gear on board doesn't get lost.

@@hawkzulu5671 I don't know to be honest. Whenever I had a ship destroyed I always lost everything on board, even weapons in the weapon racks. I remember reading or watching a video where they said weapons stored in a rack, then ship stored and later retrieved, the weapons became part of the ship inventory. Never happened for, so I don't store anything on a ship except food and drink

@@rampant54 Yeah that was a thing for a couple patches in the 3.18/ 3.19 cycle but they removed it because people used the same thing to 'dupe' drugs - storing vehicles and claiming them so they respawn with the drugs on board - pile those drugs into a ship and claim another - until you have a hauling ship filled with tens upon tens of millions (Billions) in duped cargo.

@@hawkzulu5671 I'd gladly pay another insurance fee to "save" whatever I stored in my ship to avoid losing it all. Of course that would not cover potential unique/rare items or resources. But standard weapons, armors, medic stuff and food that would be an amazing improvement in QoL.

This is the reason for the updated map, you can pin point exactly where you want to go. All of don't have that expensive Tobi Tracker like you do. You can control the entire ship from the copilot seat, you should've put the larger boxes in first, I don't see how you didn't think of that.

Love the design, I have the MR on order but - just watched Avenger_1 testing combat situations, and well, unfortunately its a little lacking for any form of combat against anyone slightly competent. , I'll wait for release of the MR but I don't think it will replace the cutty blue!

Also I just remember this from the playtest they had in arena commander. But I really hope fuses aren't the MacGuffin of ships. If it's really dumbed down to a single fuse, then engineering is just gonna suck

That hinge is interesting. Telescopes obviously but also the bottom attachment slides in a guide. I am not a hydraulic engineer but that seems like it could cause some issues since there is nothing blocking that trough from getting debris in it. Also not sure how that moves forward and backwards while the pistons are extending and contracting. Does look cool though and we know how important that is to CIG.

14:05 I am not sure why they wasted space by putting that VEL and unit on that HUD projection when the speed is already readout as 211M/S. Use that space for a more segmented speed limiter. I am pretty sure there is some switch on that settings MFD that will then cast the speed to the left of the pitch ladder across from the altimeter. not sure why that would not default to on though.

it seems to be very tough. Had a collision with an ai ship of similar size. The ai ship exploded but my Zeus had no damage at all. Opposed to a spirit, which would’ve lost both wings. Side note: no coffee pot really irritates me

I hope they smooth out the tractor beam gameplay. it turns way too goddamn slow and is in a funky position... i have faith but it does suck to see that whilst there's no way to automate loading. even just paying a few hundred credits to have some NPC load the ship over 5 minutes would be nice.

Why do you overstate the log out any where feature lol. That tone lol. If you’re in your ship in space you’ll still need to log out in the bed so that i log back in, in the ship. If you planet side log out anywhere

@@SpaceTomatoPlays It really is the only thing that makes sense with the gameplay they've been talking about for years. For example you can't be stranded on a planet, or in space, if you can just exit the game and spawn back at a station. Plus all the server meshing tech and persistence enables logging out and back in seamlessly. Bed logout is just such an old idea from when the game's scope was nowhere near what it is now. It was a solution to a problem that doesn't exist anymore, but people still seem adament about it. Though I do think bed logout will provide a buff like resting at an inn like other MMOs - like restoring thirst/hunger or a decrease to it, or temporarily improving stamina or health, that kind of thing.

@@vectonaut1503 Vec, I may not be totally tracking what you’re saying, so forgive me if I missed your point. Bedlogging is a mandatory feature for me. I can’t tell you how frustrating it is when I have to stop playing unexpectedly. Having the ability to bedlog allows me to avoid a return to a station to be assured (as assured as one can be in this game) of keeping my gear, which adds 10-15 minutes to my shutdown time. If I don’t have that much time and dump out of the game without a graceful logout, all the stuff is gone if it isn’t in my personal inventory.

@@mracicot Oh I totally understand, I have a 1 year old which has probably cost me more ships than bugs lol. What I'm saying is that I think the goal is to be able to log out anywhere, and log back in exactly where you logged out, even if you're flying a ship, floating in space or stuck in a cave. This is a feature of every MMO and there's a few ways they can do this. With dynamic server meshing, they could log you back in to an "empty" server, temporarily, and then stream in other players as you move about. This would prevent people popping in out of nowhere. If you're flying a ship, exactly the same thing. If there's other ships nearby and if you'e not in combat, then they could even auto quantum the ship to an empty area of space first before despawning, and quantum back to where you were when you log back in (which is how EVE has done it for decades and we already kind of have this in the form of a crash recovery). So basically bed logging without needing to use the bed, I think exiting/entering the game will eventually just log you out and in at the exact same location. This makes sense for the gameplay they've talked about. For example you can't be stranded on a planet or in space with how logging currently works, as you're safe as soon as you log out and back in. They need to make it so that you log back in exactly where you logged out in order for people/NPCs to rescue you, or you figure out how to rescue yourself with the resources available. I do think bed logging will still exist as an option, and will just provide some small buffs/benefits to using. As in you could just exit the game, but if you make the effort to go to a bed to log out then when you log back in, you'll have some small benefits. I think we just need server meshing up and running first before they can implement this.

I'm really struggling with this choice. The c1 is faster and more nimble in atmo but the zeus looks nicer and is easier to land/takeoff. The docking port and boarding ladder are serious bonuses. The c1 is slightly more solo friendly and has a slightly better cockpit view and Imo. It's tough...

Spirit definitely still has merits that the c1 doesn't. I don't think we can fit 32 scu crates into the zeus cl but we can fit 2 into the c1. The zeus however can be packed more completely because there's alternative entrances to the ship cockpit. It's a hard choice, but I think I'm going for the Zeus

It says "bathroom". A lure for the innocent and ignorant spacer, a trap laid by the void. The great stuckness. RU-vid has had a deluge of Zeus video's already. You're a bit late to the party. The difference in time equates the difference in quality. I wonder how well it does with hauling missions that exceed the C1's capacity (over 64SCU) but are within the Zeus' own carrying volume (of 128SCU). So hauling around ~100SCU. Also wonder what the fuel costs will be. A lot of RSI around the ship? But I don't want repetitive strain injury. At 30:30 or so in, you pull in the landing gears... the ladder remains extended.

Radar altimeters read the distance to the terrain you're over. What is sea level on a moon with no atmosphere or water? Barometric altimeters read air pressure, which needs to be set accordingly. All I need to know is how far below my keel is the mountain I'm about to crash into.

I dont get it.....small Fire extinguishers for ships...why not having them automatically set in sealings of ships, like in the real world? I do understand having the small ones in ground vehicles because having a smaller structure, but think it is BS mechanics not having it in spaceships. But again....We still do not have parachutes, jetpacks etc in the future. total immersion and realism the CR/CIG way with allot of eye candy fluff!!!! 🤣

Actually, on private aircraft, the only auto fire suppression system is in the hydraulics bay and used for the engines and auxiliary power unit. The cabins do rely on handheld extinguishers.
