I just found out to target ship components players need to scan ships first now. I feel like this could be an advantage for stealth ships with ballistics. You could scan before engaging and target a component that’s vital to the ship your attacking. Meanwhile the ship being attacked either won’t scan you back or take time doing so! I was considering the Sabre comet but might go Sabre if this is the case. Anyways, awesome video always good to see people enjoy a none meta ship and use it in cool ways
Dude, not only is it tanky but it is QUICK. Every time I punch it in mine I damn near pass out! Like Jeremy Clarkson in his review of the Ariel Atom, hahaha!
It's a bit hard to see on youtube but it seemed to me that when OneNut was decoupled in the first 2 fights Twydge was consistently out turning him regardless of which ship they were in. In the last fight OneNut looked to be coupled (again, a bit hard to say for sure. UI, CIG, ffs) and his turns were a lot crisper. Not totally sure about that but I think that's how it was. .. anyway, love these vids. It's just good to watch something that doesn't involve bunkers or ganking people with firearms. Most of the people I know that play the game think ships are just something you use to get your loot out of the bunker. ...sigh
@@OneNutSupreme You use thrusters backwards when turning? This will make it faster according to my experience. If you already know I said nothing XD I figured out my A1 turned lot faster when doing that and for my connie taurus it worked to. Makes sense cause you basicly pull the back side the opposite direction when turning. Probably more noticable with longer ships than shorter ones.
I'm only average but what I've found is that flicking back into coupled while you're actually changing vector hard (as opposed to just repositioning your nose) makes for a quicker turn, especially in atmo where you also have gravity to worry about. Once your TVI is lined up more or less where you want it you can then decouple again. I reckon decoupled is great for accelerating but coupled is better for deceleration. At least it is for the crap way I fly :)@@OneNutSupreme
I think you’re right and I sometimes notice it flying, I think it’s because the IFCS can use all the thrusters so you get the absolute minimum slip possible. I always fly decoupled but I keep it on a switch for atmospheric combat, I might have to extend that to all ship combat after you pointed this out
@@BobWobbles Ye I barely use that. I got used to using coupled as it is. But in a way I do the same with thrusthing backwards in a turn. Because I drag the backside of the ship in the direction it is already going by doing so. But timing is important. It would be interesting to see what would be faster tho. Maybe smaller ships benefit decoupling more. Cause they turn alot faster already. With the connie I even use VTOL in combat. It just feel more responsive in space and atmosphere with it. I don't need speed. I want fast turn. VTOL give me better strafing and things.
Dude, the Sabre MOVES in atmo... even with the crazy accel. on the Hornet right now, the sabre just "feels" better in thick atmo. Like, uhh, 1km altitude in Microtech atmo, and you're boosting to 480m/s???
It's only really effective if you do all the things. If you approach with shields on, might as well not use the stealth vehicle. From what I can tell, your (em+ir) × ~.75 is the range at which a ship can target you. You're cross-section signature only applies to the detection range of ping I personally run full ballistic gatlings on my Sabre. With the ghost I run gatlings on the turrets in order to use them gimbles and 2 size 3 lasers on the wings, I don't use the lasers (like turn them off completely) unless I run out of ammo. Almost every stealth ship should turn off one of their coolers(at all times, you only one 2 coolers socketed in case the one you have on goes boom), turn off qt after you jump to target, and approach with weapons and shields off. Usually approach at about double scm speeds, powering weapons on (in my ghost setup I leave my ballistics on and don't bother with the turning weapons off step), the moment I begin firing I turn my shields on... sometimes. In pve I've forgotten to turn shields back on for 6 bounties in a row, usually kill the target and leave before the others can even target me
How would Sabre vs Gladius turn out? I want to take an aegis fighter. And cannot realy decide. Also thinking of the vanguard. But not sure about warden or habinger. And if it would be usefull to even grab a light fighter when going for vanguard. And then the eclipse also there. Damn this aegis day XD
AvengerOne rates the Warden as A tier for 2 people and B tier as a single. The other variants are a bit lower in both categories according to him. Gladius is always a good option for dogfighting but might struggle against heavy opponents (like reclaimers) due to its smallish DPS.
@@BobWobbles To many options. The thing is I have the connie taurus. And that thing is just amazing. It slaps. It has great defense. I think it's realy not that bad to fight for bounties. Awsome cargo hold. Turn rate no that bad tho if you trust backwards when turning. Everything else feels just so lackluster at this moment. Especially same price range and class range.
Honestly the hornet could have killed you much faster in the first round with your back turned for so long since a good hornet pilot will run you down. Also the last thing you want is to create enough distance for the hornet's shields to recharge when you're using ballistics, as they will do very limited damage and having a small pool of ammo on top of that will waste too many shots. Due to the acceleration bug and having more fire power, the hornet has the ability to decide the engagements so it benefits the hornet to play the battle of attrition. Unfortunately the sabre has only one real advantage, the fight is in atmosphere. As a sabre enjoyer and hornet hater I'm sad to say the hornet wins almost everytime in zero-g with equally skilled pilots and similar loadouts.
Dude in the Hornet using a mouse............seriously watch videos on locking in your mouse v-joy settings. Can tell you are using stock. Tightening them in will instantly making you much better at turning and aiming with a mouse. Default mouse settings across the board are like a trap.
Hes not using a mouse. He has VKB gunfighters. He's just using the vjoy indicator because it's a setting he prefers. Lot of pvpers I know using it too.
