Star Citizen - This is the dream.. 

The single idea of bookmarking the coords of your ship would be epic! I can't imagine that tiny addition would be hard to do. Another thing I would like to see being able to repair your snub ship in the ahngar of your own ship, like you can do at bases. And even cooler, is seeing a robot fix the ship, or the ship molecularly repair itself in the hangar.

The 85x is supposed to be the snub fighter/shuttle for the 890J. It was the first snub fighter to have a QT drive and it's a two-seater at that. I've had fun doing box missions with it by placing the boxes in the passenger seat. It was shown in the videos from CitCon of the mini-map that they are going to add location markers that you can place, save and even sell.

Also want to acknowledge the fact that every video you set out to do something, some random thing throws your plan it the window. True star citizen experience :p

That beginning was fantastic and classic, but I to have the same dream and I did the same thing with my 890j. I managed to fit an stv, a drake dragonfly, a Roc, an Ursa, an x1 and a Nova, although the Nova was a bit of a squeeze, in the cargo room. And I got a mirai fury, mirai lx, and a c8x pisces in the hangar. I could have probably fit more if I moved the ships around more but yes, the carrier life is what I want my end game to be as well.

The work around is to put the ship on the larger pad when you request landing. Then cut power to engines only and hit repair. it works most of the time but if the server's FPS drops below 3...might as well change servers at that point. You wont be able to repair or refuel at that point.

I share that dream. I want a liberator loaded with a prospector, vulture and a medium fighter. That would give me a small base that would allow me to do most missions in the system I am in. I really hope the liberator has an armory with a good number of suit lockers and gun racks.

If you accept a box delivery mission before heading out, you can leave the box on your big ship so it acts like a waypoint to go back to in your smaller ship. You can't quantum to it of course but helps if you don't have another small ship to leave in the big one.

I am currently attempting this with a friend and a carrack. I have the boxes kinda set up like this. I'm using the garage for a ROC and a Mule (loaded with a 1SCU for bunker runs) I have the hanger empty so that my friend can land her LX in there while cruise around for the day. At the end of the day, she takes off about 1000m and bed logs. Been going ok for about a week now. Been using bunkers for weapons, box missions for food and drink. It has been pretty awesome so far.

I think the incentive not to store everything on a station is that when we have more star systems it'll just be such a faff to have to travel that far back for them so you'd inevitably have to ferry a few things, especially in systems that do not have convenient space stations

Ok just so you know: the other week we had 1 in our server that did bed logging with a ship/vehicle in his ship while logging and when the logging failed he couldn’t reclaim the ship anymore. Had this 2 times happen to him. Not für if it’s true, I wouldn’t wanna risk it

I like that kind of game play too. Not sure why. Only slightly related, when I saw the new US Navy ship, the USS Lewis B. Puller (Chesty) just the other day on the news, and read the thought process behind it and the others they're building of that new class, I was tickled to death. All it is, is a cut down super tanker...a bobber, you might say, turned into an big ass garage with "garage doors" all around the tanker. Like a giant technical or something...and THAT makes me happy! I had seen one of the Pacific bobber tanker base boats depicted with those old USMC hovercraft's coming and going by way of the garage doors all around the bobber tanker. Looked like it was meant to be. It seems like a simple concept...but it's like they just now thought of it. They shoulda played in the dirt more with their Hot Wheels, Tonkas, and Green Army Men. Pretty sure I had a similar battle philosophy when I was 5.

I've been doing almost exactly the same thing. I bought the A2 ingame for the extra ship defence and loaded a C8X Pisces for the med bed and a basic cyclone that can carry a 1 scu box in the back for bunker runs. Perfect home base.

That 85X's wing breaking off made me wish the repair gameplay could include a two-person team - one would hold the broken part to the ship, the second person would use the repair tool to "weld it on"

I LOVE the idea of having my corsair loaded with a vehicle and some boxes, the kitchen filled with food, maybe a turtle involved. Landing planetside at a settlement and trading with the ramp down and the lights on. I’m so excited for more things on planets and persistence and ships

Try hovering a few feet over the landing pad and repairing. That works sometimes. Do worry about the missing the old starmap. I'm sure the new one will be buggy for quite a while.

This video is quintessential Olli. Honestly it wouldn't be the same if you edited out all the face palm moments. This is the style of game play I'd want from any game. You need a crew and a couple small fighters, doing bounties would be so much fun.

You mentioned Port Olisar. It made me remember it and start to miss it again. I loved Port Olisar with its landing pads and layout even if it was a bit outdated.

There are some very compelling reasons why you would take out stuff with you: Storing stuff outside your homebase will cost you storage fees, though - if you can afford it - there is some logistical gameplay to be found there. Moving from place to place takes much time. There is a reason why things are moving in real time through space and one of them is to take your stuff with you and not circle back every half and hour to restock your empty ship. Also docking fees and fuel cost will be more punishing in the future too, so carelessly running back and forth will be less viable than carefully planning meaningful routes. Ships will almost never explode in the future leaving the ship stranded worst case but keeping cargo inside mostly intact, so recovering from a failure will just be part of the gameplay instead of resetting it to zero. Giving up a ship completely for "convenience" might be something you do during alpha, but in the future it will be far more punishing through additional recovery fees associated with expedited insurance.

Travelling around in a carrier type ship with loads of small fighters/bombers loaded onto i honestly so fricking cool!

Let me tell you that when we do salvage runs with my org we always have a break with some "Swedish fika" in one guys 600i. The advantages to kit out your ship through storing it does SO much for RP. Can't wait to when you actually don't die and always have to get you ship and shit together cause claiming it will be to expensive

This idea would be great if there were precautions in game already to protect you when you’re attacked. Like in Elite, security would respond to you and help. They would usually be pretty substantial and the wanted person would have to run. With this being unfinished, people can jump you and do whatever and only get a little time in jail. No rep hurt or real loss.

That's already what I do! 😂 A Fury, a Pisces Rescue & an Ursa in my C2, and I'm ready for what the Verse would throw to my face. I usually take 2 SCU boxes and put them vertically in line, in a corner for them to not take too much place. With time, I remember which one is for what type of items. I also have a 1 SCU "portable loot" box, which goes either in the C8R or the Ursa. 😊

I wish you could hover over "elevator" or "open door" and press ctrl-numpad-number. Then later, press shift-numpad-number to remote-control that door or elevator if you're nearby. Use your mobi as a remote control, yay!

To mark your ship or locations, pick up a box mission and store the box onboard. All you got to do to find the ship is track the mission and it will tell you where the box is also revealing the ship location.

I'd like to see a future like this where we can save the ship as it is, with bottles dotted over the place, guns, kit etc. and then when we commit it, every time we then summon the ship we get the exact same layout each time.

I totally agree with that dream. Living out of a bigger ship would really be the dream to strive for.

when u have asymmetric thrust like that try going decoupled. U were spinning because th FLCS kept trying to keep u going straight and failing miserably. AC 141 has a bug where u can't repair for some reason. I have the same dream though. That's why I love the C2's and Carack and the 890 when it eventually works since it can carry a large number of vehicles , has a gravity enabled hangar when raised and a med bed.

For the last week i've been doing exploring with my M2. Stored a piscis C8R for the medbed, the Ursa rover and a dragonfly in the belly. I think i like the space nomad life. Can't wait for more systems to explore and just do odd jobs on the go to stay alive

If I could, I would have a small combat ship with steerable wheels for ground movement, and ample storage space and bed. Retractable/Extending side wings for low speed atmospheric flight and storage in ship hangers and landing in tight spots.

I have a similar plan but with racing ships. Starting with a m50 in a c2 and working up to a 890 that I think I can fit a 350r, m50, p72, fury and maybe a razor all that the same time.

Entertaning video as always Olli! I was wondering why you didn't use the new tractor beam you had attached to your backpack. Also I'd like to see if you could have repaired the wing with the new repair tool you had in the storage container. You may have been able to scrape recycled material and construction material from the broken wing. Next time, maybe? On the 85X, are there guns for the copilot too? I know on the Reliant your copilot can use one remote gun using a Toshima turret from Dumper's Depot or Cousin Crow's. Keep up the good work, Cheers

i would love if they added like your own hideout that you can put all of items and live in it like you can spawn and logout from it. To get it you would have to buy it and you can customaze it (sorry for bad english)

Okay I laughed when the wing just instantly came flying off. I was instantly thinking about all of this the second I picked up a C2, putting ships inside of ships. Though in the case of the Herc, you have suit lockers, guns racks, and storage bins built in, so you might not really need to throw down to many containers on the cargo grid.

I swear I just did the same thing put origin in the Hercules M2 and closed the game few times and stored my ship just to make sure it'll stay in there and It did and I'm so damn happy but I just fly it in there I don't bring it out like you did in the beginning of the videos but it's so sick like this glad to see you doing it also

More importantly than the game realising a few seconds later that somethings missing is the fact that the ship has the wrong side dangle down... the side with the wing should be heavier and thus try to rotate down, and not the other way around.

Olli, your antics always crack me up 😂 Would be nice if CIG added digital labels you can edit to boxes and a remote for the ship cargo ramp in smaller ships - working only for the same owner or team.

Olli you could just fly to an orbital marker and remember which one it was, can always fly back to it to find your ship, even if you die :) Thats what I do, love the carrier game loop as well!

3:35 throw a pisces R in the Hercules and now you have a med bed in your hercules too. And there are a bunch of medpens abs stuff in the sliding cabinet in the Pisces as well

They really need to figure out how to keep Org or Party ships persisting (stay active) so anyone that logs in can respawn on the ship. Even if a ship moves, you should be able to respawn on it. But as a owner that logs out in space, what happens when crew logs in without me on? The sudo owner should be the Org or persisting Party everyone joined. Thoughts?

I understand why we can't; still, CIG, I would love new cinematics of concept ships. The bigger ones, like they did recently with the Polaris. Doesn't need to be very long. Something to tide us over until the new big ticket items comes out, please.

It would be great if you could have storage boxes as you say that only you can access, especially after your ship is destroyed only you can recover these indestructible items.

You should see my C2. 6 nox, 5 cyclone RC. Have been picking up strangers off of global chat and going racing around the verse. Pretty fun.

I got me a Liberator, so this is right up my alley. It even comes with the M2 Loaner!

Tip from someone who uses the 85x daily. Never ever use it when a wing is missing, the thrust is so dumb on it, that if you do 1 wrong movement, it will start spinning and you wont be able to recover.

Olli You can place a decorative item on top of each box to differentiate one from the others, this way it's easier than using boxes of different shapes (sorry for my bad English, I'm from Brazil) PS: I love your videos, I hope to get the setup and the game soon so I can play with all of ya guys hshs o/

Also did a pseudo-carrier session with one side of the M2 loaded up with 3 Fury's while the other half used for loot a while back. Definitely the best unique SC gameplay session I had. Invite friends!

You could use the living deck cargo external storage rows in the middle of the ship to do it bro.

I find if you stay in the Vehicle Services tab while it is repairing/refuelling it will work. Everytime I exit the menu it won't complete properly.

I do this all the time with the Constellation and the merlin, its always a good time.

As soon as logging out off in ship bed becomes a reliable I plan to do this as well basically.

Just imagine the day we will be able to play this beautiful game post release 😩

I've landed at Lorville hangars with my Ares Inferno in way worse shape than that 85x. Talk about emergent gameplay!

You need the repair gun. Kidding aside, they need to add the ability to taxi to ships with landing gear (at least the small ones).

A way point system would be great but too easily exploitable to pirate style players as they could just "camp" high value job locations. However the ability to always see ones own ships in the verse would be better in my opinion. Also I would imagine easier to implement than a full on pick and place way point system

This game is beautiful, love the money shots! Can't wait because I just upgraded my GPU and will be able to play at 4K with decent frames :D

It's very similar to having a capital ship in no mans sky and being able to have a mobile base of sorts. Except you can't fly it around the system yourself sadly

what a great vid just shows we all make simple mistakes every time we play. also i hope we will have reasons to live our game lives in ships on the go and only go back to base after a long tour of duty in the pu .

personally i am debating if the game can handle 2 game modes casual "arcade" mode (aka what we got now) where life is fast and everything goes and you really dont worry to much if someone ram you as your out doing missions or something and the "hard core" you really really dont want to "loose" your ship cause it will take time to get it back and so on, life is slow and you can expect anything taking forever to do and you really are incentivized to "work together" to speed up the process of say "building" a ship

I think with more star systems the living out of your ship dream would be much more achievable

If the air/space craft has wheels, you should be able to use forward thrust to roll along the ground. Perhaps the game doesn't yet believe in rolling wheels.

Does anyone know anything about the new star map he mentioned? What it is going to be like? I have heard nothing about it.

16:40 "if CIG is watching" at this point I would be surprised if any dev kept watching these... in a near future SC totally will have the locations coordinates saved, and a player will be able to sell those coordinates to anybody else on the open market. Not only they talked about this idea from the very beginning, but also confirmed multiple times that it comes up implemented somewhere between the new Starmap and player bases building implementation. If i can know it, youtuber with 1.55M subs can know it too. And yet, just below me, I still see a dude doing a happy dance about how bookmarking the coords would be epic idea and how it can't be hard to do for CIG.... how old is your audience? 16? 😆

i would love it but i feel like, even if they fully added it as a "i need to live out of my ship" , i feel like the addition of torpedo's and 1 hit missiles has ruined that dream for anything smaller than capital. even capital ships like idris still dies to 7+ eclipse strikes. so yeah not much room to live in space sadly simply bc players are a## Hats XD

Watched Citizen Kate (and Will) doing this on her Reclaimer, stuff was disappearing and there were problems. so be carful, she has gone into depth on this subject as they were trying to live on it and all had uniforms and kit, an entire crew. But yes it would be the dream to live a proper little fantasy and have all the kit to hand, very immersive.

You should be able to fix all ships in the hanger of your mother ship if you have this wing issue
