To clarify: INSURANCE is tiered. Insurance without warranty will give you a UEC payout for whatever your tier of insurance covers. The warranty will instead give you back what your insurance tier covers rather than you getting a payout. All ships bought on the pledge store have lifetime warranty, but only LTI gives you life time insurance. If you don’t have LTI you will have to “ReUp” your insurance in game once it expires. Hope this makes sense.
I don’t understand how this still doesn’t make LTI invalid. If all pledged ships have lifetime warranty, what does insurance do for you beyond warranty if it’s UEC? If all ships have lifetime warranty e.g. always gets the ship chassis back, does insurance pay you on top of this? Or does insurance cover the components/decoration only?
@@marcfenix148 from what it sounds like, warranty will not be effective without active insurance. The warranty “lays on top” of the insurance contract rather than “being beside it” as its own separate service
LTI is “lifetime” insurance at level 1 - chassis. The warranty is what gives you the actual ship instead of just its UEC value. You can choose to buy insurance levels 2 or 3 for in-game UEC to get that additional coverage. In which case, having a warranty then gives you those covered components and decorations (instead of just their UEC value). So LTI makes sure you always get the *chassis*. You can spend more (in game) to get more.
For anyone still in doubt what LTI will cover and anything related to ship insurance & warranty, they have post an official answer on Spectrum demystifying the whole thing go check that out
Base building/crafting is going to revolutionize the game. Also, am I the only one that was geeking out over the ecosystem/weather/planet generation tech demo?
I really hope they make the main story something you can do cooperatively. I love the idea of logging in day one with some friends and doing the main quest together
Terra also connects to 2 of the first 4 systems. Without Terra people who don't want to mess with the more "aggresive" players would be stuck in one system. The 1st 4 systems form a straight line with the 2 lawless systems in the middle. Terra connects to both stanton and pyro which opens up a lot more options for people. The crafting system is very SWG feeling. Thats a good thing!
Disappointed that they didn’t discuss the RSI Galaxy in base building. Also they didn’t tell us what soul singer is. But the content in the game is going to increase and the game really needs this.
i was very surprised with what wasn't talked about, but even more surprised by the amount of content that they did drop, now we have a thousand more questions!!
He said both, first he states ships in store will have warranty + "appropriate" level of insurance and at the end states LTI count as insurance + warranty. LTI might effect the level you get
I both love and am devastated by the FOIP changes, it being so stupid and still was a point of great joy for me and my friends but at the same time it being improved as much as they've shown is incredible for immersion and role players!
it was most definitely said that any in ship bought in the store has life time warranty but nothing about insurance. so youl still have to buy insurance if you dont have life time just not the warranty and id assume its tier 2 cus just based on tact thta thats how it works right now when we claim a ship. you get you weapons and components back but nothing inside it
The insurance stuff has been made clearer now by CIG on spectrum just a few hours ago Buying a ship on the pledge store, independent on whether or not you get LTI will also give you warranty. That warranty means you get a ship back on claiming insurance. However, if you let your insurance run out on your pledge ship and then lose it it is lost _forever_ Warranty only augments _existing_ insurance to give you back a ship instead of a monetary payout EDIT: CIG has made another addendum. They intend to make players that let their insurance run out on a ship bought in the pledge store and then lose it pay an extra fee before they can once again claim it. Think of it as a sort of "tardiness fee"
The fee doesn't apply to ships bought in game, those are just lost permanently if destroyed without insurance/ warranty. It does however apply to ships attributed through the website in order to punish you but not make you lose stuff bought with IRL money.
Haha! hello Citizen Con 2954 Zinya. Love your lore readings and when you’re on the podcasts. But also love your work with the adds and whatnot. Don’t worry, Rich knows how much I already love him too.
There was a lot of really cool stuff shown at CitCon. Base building is a lot bigger and broader than I was expecting. Also, really glad we can mix and match clothes and armor. I want to wear an overcoat over my armor sometimes. And when I'm in a station I want to be able to wear a hat around. Just a lot more options for fashion. Thanks for the vid Bored and Zin. Be well everyone
The most exciting part of citcon for me was the brief part of the base building section where they mentioned player trading and markets, this game SOO badly needs an economy
@BoredGamer you should go back and watch the one video where they're looking through different ships. At the very beginning, they show someone in the cockpit of a Terrapin. It pans over and you see the words Anvil. Then it pans over again and you see a medical kiosk station. It goes further and you see medical items stocked up and a bed/the side hatch of the Terrapin. After that, it goes to the external view and you see the venting ducts operating as they usually do on the Terrapin followed by them switching over to the Crusader starter ship. We are 100% getting a Medipen my friend. 🙂
indeed mostly but the tech in 1st day was wow, and then they sealed it with those Promises for more ships.. which I dont care much. (where my BMM ?) and the Sherman and Levski presentation was epic ! I totally forgive them for having a issues with SQ42 prologue gameplay hahaha
The whole CitizenCon was really nice with. Terra was one of my highlight, also the whole roadmap 4.0 to 1.0 Sure it will take some time, but it gave me hope, especially for Quests. These will help to bring some friends into the universe and I want them to like the game hehe
I loved day 2 of CitizenCon. I'm just dreaming of where I want to make my home. Nyx or Terra? I like the idea of living on an asteroid, but I love the lush environment of Terra. I realize the concept art doesn't have the wings on it, but the mini Corsair looks like the Ironclad command module.
If they are bringing in taxes, they should bring in banking as well. You can put your money in a bank and get x amount of interest. You could apply for loans and the interest rate and approval could be weighed against your rep.
I have to agree that the 1.0 summary was the most intriguing and informative part. I was pretty underwhelmed about SQ42 overall. the turret gameplay felt slow and very arcadey. the gameplay after seemed pretty cool but more on rails than I was expecting though to be fair it was the tutorial level. The cinematics were very nice but very long and it would have been nice if there had been more places to participate as a player.
I'm wondering how long it will take to make Terra. I can more easily guess with Castra because it has one landing zone, but Terra is meant to be heavily developed with a lot of landing zones and possible major stations. Also, I think Zin is confused about warranties and insurance. Insurance has the 3 tiers that determine what is covered, and warranty determines whether or not you get credits back or what you lost based on the tier of insurance.
I am very optimisticly excited for the future, some stuff i wish for more (style options for base building, unique/non repeated ground POI's, biom diversity across different planets, the time till things are implemented, ext.). One of the few things however that left me very excited without drawbacks was the dedication to large/med ships coming soon/IAE. Definitely will be interesting year
Regarding the Tobii eye tracker ad, I would absolutely love one for star citizen but even with the discount I just can’t justify the price. It’s sooo expensive for what it is
If I understand things correctly any pledged ship will be a tier 1 of 5 ship/vehicle, which removes SOME of the pay to win elements. We will still need to craft better versions. LTI afaik is still undefined, maybe you will get t3 insurance. Either way, this is a wonderful change!
They need another term than warranty. "warranty" is a term for manufacturer being responsible for faults etc. Should be insurance levels (as stated) and add "replacement" or "new for old".
Ships bought on store have warranty (which is always lifetime) but warranty on its own doesn’t do anything without insurance. They will warn you before pulling out a ship that doesn’t have insurance that if you lose it then it’s gone forever. LTI = warranty + lifetime tier 1 insurance. You can pay to upgrade to tier 2 or 3 in game.
So if you have a ship that you pledged with 6 month insurance, and lifetime warranty. What happens after 6 months if you ship explodes or something? I assume you wouldn’t lose a pledged ship, but would you not have access to it until you payed for insurance in game or something?
I am still curious about the flight model. I understand they want to make the game easy to get into; however, there is a certain feel of achievement when you fly your first time and as you hit milestones.
I loved Citizencon, think I saw you a few rows infront of me during a panel, but (and sorry mate) the panel was too interesting to push through everyone so i could say "hi". Following that panel didn't see you guys again. Even on Sunday the merch queue was busy, although it was better that Sat and of course some stuff had ran out.
Who walks in water with their arms at their side? You gotta hold them at shoulder height, bent at the elbow at about a 45 degree angle above the water.
CitizenCon is only way I stay updated with this game tbh, but I kinda laugh at the name every time I see it because of the "con" in it since this game is like fusion, always decades away. Actually fusion has changed over time, estimated timeline has gone down, but this game (or well SQ42 part at least) is still 2 years away. Nothing changes, but hey, I enjoy citizencons, it is like entertainment. Kinda like watching E3.
I would recommend keeping up with their ISCs they upload to youtube as well. That's basically all I keep up with for Star Citizen, Citizencon and ISCs because they show me exactly what CiG is actively working on.
they said any ship purchased in the store gets warranty....now....anything with LTI SHOULD get warranty AND insurance at the highest tier...THAT would make sense. if they DONT do that....why the heck did we struggle and fight for LTI tokens on our ships?
they said in the presentation that all ships bought with money accredited to your account will always have warrenty and could never be lost (lti or not). the insurance applied to the ship is a different perk to the loss by the sounds of it and im interested what it is, they definetely need to provide more clarity on this.
Don't forget that they will be considered as tier 1 and will require you to actually play the game to get higher tier versions of your purchased ship. Which is really cool, I'm glad they let people buy thr ships still, but don't make them over powered since you start with the weakest version of it.
And I think they were first talking star systems as in curated star systems, those are now shrunk to five for 1.0. It could very well be possible to have "resource" systems out there that are generated for exploration purposes?
Its nice to have the current scope outlined for release. Now we have to wonder if they'll stick to it. Also, if SC is releasing with those 5 systems but none of those are in sq42, does that mean SC is aiming to be released first or just that those systems will be in sq42 and not SC for a while?
Pretty sure CR said 12-18 months just for crafting/base building and the worm. To be honest it feels like its going to be at least another 5 years for 1.0
Not everything in the 1.0 panel is coming in one go. We'll see much of what we saw in there in the following months and years and in any number of tiers.
Loved: Genesis, Base Building and crafting. Hated: Insurance and claims. Worried about : No real plan after the initial 5 star system. will there ever be a 100 star system or atleast close to it. And possibility of high org gate keeping.
2026...this is the last time I forgive them pushing it back. I backed this game in highschool. Ill be halfway to retirement when this game STARTS to launch
