Koreans are not stupid. That's just they way of telling how old is other person, In Korea that actually makes things easier, because depending if person is older or younger than you, you would address them differently and even use different speech. This way it's easier to tell if somebody was born the same year as you. Judging people not knowing anything about them is called ignorance. Congratulations - you really showed your level of knowledge and intelligence.

When Lunar Year comes, everyone is a year older, regardless of birthday. I was born in Dec 16th, that means I'd be born 1 year old and around 2 months later when Lunar Year Eve comes, I'd turn 2, even if I'm just 2/3 months old.

To clarify, us koreans use a different age system where you are born 1 and gain an age on New Years (January 1st). So if you're born on December 31st, you are 2 years old on the second day of your birth. Its weird but that's just how it is

its 2013 now means shes 21 and in Korea, when you're born you're already 1 y/o because they count the 1 year in their mother's tummy. So 21 + 1 = 22 :)

Korean age are a little different than what we're used to. They are born 1 year old. And they add years all together at the lunar year or something like that.

Korean babies are already 1 year old when they born cause they were with their mom for about 10 monthes.

In Korea when you are born you are already one year old (not 0). And they add one year on new year not on your birthday. So in summary in particular moment you are old what age you will be this year + 1. (Or current year - your birth year + 1) So sure in Korea she is 22.

Well, for us at occident she's 20 but in Korea (and I think other asian countries too) they count the 9 months u spent inside ur mother's womb as a year of life, so that'd be 20+1=21 plus another year cuz 2013 Lunar Year has alrdy started her age is 22. It's sort of a strange age counting system but yeah lol

When you're just born, in Korea they consider you one. For example, pretend you were born in 2000, you would be "one". Then, in 2001, you'd be two. Your age changes at the start of the year and not on the specific day you were born.

Americans add 2 more years to their age : ex. I'm 21 in Korea I'm 23 .. Age is very important over there

That's cultural difference and assuming everywhere in the world, things work the same way as the place you were born, is simply ignorant. In Korea it is very important if somebody is older or younger than you, because of the language and in the case sombody is born same year as you, they are considered same age. Of course they realize that person might be few months older or younger, but it's just way to express it and way society works.
