Actually there would be no sound since they're in orbit but what I think would seem far slower is the speed at which they appear; even though light and stuff.

Just pointing out: in real life there obviously would be a delay in the sound but there isn't one in the movies, hence why I just made it instantaneous

Here's a list of adjustments I'll continuously add to with your guys' comments until it's made: - Delay *boom* sound effect to add realism - Make the destroyers move slowly after arriving rather than just being stationary - Improve sound design - Make lighting on destroyers more realistic - Add motion blur to arriving destroyers - Include a fleet of different destroyers rather than just a few of the same model
Yea, making the destroyers move slowly after arriving will be a good improvement. They're look like they just lag in space. Maybe fix the angle a little bit? Especially the second clip, looks a little bit out of place. Maybe add a capital ship? All aside, really nice VFX.
Hate to be that guy but the light/shadows are on the wrong side. Sun is on the right side of the screen based off of terrain shadows. Light on Star Destroyers is as if it were on the left.
@@jonathanmares8831 Noted, I used a png of a ISD and the shadows just happened to be on that side. I'll look harder for a better image or maybe try some digital modelling
Technically, in lore, Imperial fleets usually consist of one Star Destroyer and its escort vessels. Only Grand Admirals or above (AKA Vader) tended to have more than one star destroyer.
@@11Survivor Moffs and Grand Moffs also had SD fleets. I assume it's also not uncommon for ISDs to get grouped up if High Command deems it necessary, and would probably name one of the ships as the lead ship.
I think to improve these shots, the star destoryers should keep moving a little after arriving and the sound shouldn't end so abruptly, thinking of like a firework going off you can hear the sound rolling over hills etc. Other than that the actual comp looks really good, you colour matched them really well!
One thing to make the scene much better, the sound. Sound travels at an average speed of 300 meters per seconds. Meaning here these ISD are just at 300 meters from you. So you have to put a delay between the image and the sound since you have the camera in first person Funfact, that's how you can roughly measure distance between you and a thunderstorm
Not bad! Some subtle interpolation/blur effects could help really sell the "light speed ship screeching to a halt" vibe, but I like how distant the ships look. Good stuff
Jan Sieber it’s really simple actually - I used a png of the underneath of a destroyer, reducing opacity and added a blue tone to it then just moved it along the frame
Pay close attention to the bottom right at 0:10 and, if you look very closely and carefully at the sky, again at the bottom right, you can see the faint but distinct outline of the Death Star.
It's ok, but the light is coming from a complete different angle in both your shots. Flip the star destroyers around so the lit up side is facing the right way, and it will look perfecto! Nice work though anyway!
the only problem with this scene is that in the destroyers the sun is on the left and in the foreground the sun is on the right, if you flip them over, they are gonna blend good, also try to take some of the contrast off, it needs to feel a little more distant, other than that is dope!
This would be so much cooler if the "sound' was delayed by 10 or 20 seconds and more of a low rumble instead of a woosh. Also I'm pretty sure you wouldn't hear jack if those ships were that high up in the atmosphere and you were on the ground.
fun fact: if a ship actually went into hyperspace, due to it moving at light speeds it would cause nuclear fission causing a nuclear explosion similar to the little boy nuke to occur every 10th of a second
If they were in space like that, you would really only be able to see the bits where the sun is shining on it. The rest would be as blue as the sky, like the moon in the daytime
put a 15 second delay from when the star destroyer appears until we hear the sound would be much more epic. with some ambient bird and forest winds throughout and u got the beginnings of an epic intro
i think they should have continued to move slowly after the hyperjump and also added a delay in the sound because it looks like they're roughly the height of a plane, just to add effect
Very cool! The sound would be delayed like lightning and thunder. Otherwise super cool. Also some atmospheric disturbance which caused the sonic boom. But Star Wars has laser sounds in space... sooo... take this for what it’s worth.
Star Wars is known for breaking the laws of physics. Given the fact this video merely shows ships emerging from travelling *at the speed of light* , I think the issues with speed of sound is the least of your worries lol

Death Star enters hyperspace at the end These are very good tho I like how faraway and kinda obscured the destroyers are, it makes it feel more threatening to me
Quick tip on how this could be improved. I think adding a substantial delay between the visual arrival and the sound would greatly help with immersion, as sound is slower than light and what not
Now have an entire damn fleet of them jump in. Slow at first, one at a time. Varying speed slightly. Then a few of them in rapid succession. A pause. Then the rest of of them, dozens of them in rapid succession. Topped off with a Star Dreadnought jumping in after another slight pause. Maybe make it sound a bit different, too.
I never thought about it, but People get thrown forward in a bus that suddenly brakes at 50 km/h. Now imagine what happens to people when a SD suddenly stops out of hyperspace.

Hey I got an idea for the sound design! You should add some low end rumble and a fade in at the start so the audience anticipates the drop out of hyperspace
What I was gonna do is use a sonic boom effect on a delay of about 3-4 seconds after arrival. I did think about a sort’ve rumble before it the main bang but it wouldn’t be realistic
So um who’s gonna tell em that we could crush them, we have the UNSC Infinity, it can fly through a shielded ship with a self repairing Hull and the shields on the big girl won’t flicker.
I get how the movie doesn’t follow the speed of sound, but this looks less immersive. It should be a visual cue followed by a huuuuuge boom. Similar to the falcon 9 landings. Now those will wake you up!
That ship would have to deal with 30000000000000000 Newtons of energy with a stop like that, if it tavels at light speed, which is probably faster considering the way it passes stars.
