Definitely. I really don't see anything wrong with the game it's a re-imagining of one of my all-time favorite childhood games. I haven't played it myself as I don't have a Wii U but if it's ported to the Switch it's a must-buy for me

Yeah I don't get the hate for this game either. It's basically Star Fox 64 with beautiful graphics and a faithful throwback to the original dialog, voices, style, and hud interface.

The preference of motion controls has nothing to do with "gitting gud." I've used motion controls and they ARE easy to learn and get down, but personally I don't care for motion controls, it's not something that's fun to me and that's why I didn't get the game. They could have easily gave an option to use motion controls if you wanted to but they decided not to, and limiting options is never a good thing. I don't have the option not to use motion controls, so I won't spend my money on the game even though I loved the original. Simple

Alright, I'm going to say this, I LOVE the Star Wolf Hunter fight, when you first fought Star Wolf, it was you and your team VS Pigma, Andrew and Leon, before taking on Wolf all on his own, but here? Here on Venom, it's the opposite way around, YOU are alone, no Peppy, no HEY EINSTEIN- I mean Falco, and no Slippy, just you, the Wolfen upgraded with the Hunter form, and the AMAZING remix of Star Wolf's theme, a one v four, sure it can be easy, but if you had trouble with Pigma, Andrew and Leon, then this will be more difficult, but this is what makes this fight amazing, the odds not in your favor, and it can be more harder if you don't destroy the turrets around the area. And that is why I love the Hunter Star Wolf fight, thanks for taking your time to reading this.

I seriously don't understand the hate for this game! Yes the controls were confusing at first, but after about 5 minutes the controls were amazing!! And the gameplay is basically Star Fox 64 remastered! The Wii U was really ahead of its time and thats why i love mine and still have it

I think that last factor is kinda what turned off most people. As great as Star Fox 64 was, people might’ve wanted something fresher and more original. As someone said this is basically Star Fox 64 3D 2. I myself have been plotting some Star Fox story for fun about a corrupt Cornerian general kidnapping Pepper and going after Star Fox, which besides the original 5 also includes Krystal, Miyu, and Fay.

My biggest problem is not that is a remake of SF64, but how few bosses there is and how most of them are just different skins or moment...out of the 17 "boss battles": - 6 are against some of all Star Wolf - 2 are against a "rosa" (3 if you count the second way to destroy the first) - 2 Energy Sources (Androsa and Alpha) - 2 against a Dodora That make only 6 battles actually "unique"...seems like the really were out of ideas, and not only that, it doesn't seem to have any effect the route I take to the final boss, is always the same mecha Andross...what happened to the "real/brain form"? Afraid of scaring children???

Note I am someone that got good at the game and beat zero multiple times. I just played the game with the motion controls set to only fire when i press the button and just had it rest on my lap. I tryed playing without the motion controls basically and it was surprisingly easy. I mean there was still challenge but i did about ad good as i do with it on. So if nintendo wanted to port zero all they really need to do is tweak some levels, give the players the Z targeting control and give the option to turn it off. Zero can still have motion controls witg tge use of the select button. Put it simple just give options with it would be liked even more.

Imo it’s biggest fault is that it’s level design is meh imo since it’s just a reskin of star fox 64. The two screen shooting mechanics ironically enough are it’s best feature (fighting in aerial combat with Star wolf is genuinely fun) The people that had an issue with it imo probably had no idea you weren’t supposed to waggle the shit out if the controller and you only really needed to look at the second screen for a split second to aim. Is Star Fox Zero the best Star Fox game? No, but it’s way better than tank controls assault.

I didn't deliberately do anything. When the game changes my camera and forces it to this awkward 3rd perspective via the TV, your pretty much forced to use the WII U pad. Any segment that's not on rails fly through the level (Which is quiet a lot) I found myself having to use the wii u pad in order to get accurate shots. I only found out AFTER that I could change the TV camera to the in cock pit view with the - Button AFTER I finished the game. If they mentioned that in game I Sure didn't see it. It would've bee nice.

Most of the hatred comes from the shoddy controls. They kinda ruin the experience. That said, if you can work with them you're left with generally a love letter of a remake. The bosses could use some creativity though...

This game made star wolf’s team look like chumps. In N64, they always strategized. Especially on Venom, they always attacked in twos after killing your team mates off

Yeah, but the second fight was a bit of an alternate fight, where you go inside of the ship and blow up the escape pod instead of destroying the outside and letting the captain escape.

So they somehow took the gameplay and controls from the last game and made it somehow worse. Unbelievable. You know, just because your Wii U has a second screen to look at that doesn't mean we want to. We have a TV for a reason.
