Rules explanations/clarifications/mistakes: 1. After set-up and finding an environment card, should have shuffled the discard pile back into the deck.

Good game. Star Lord looks great. Sometimes it is worth getting those extra Encounter cards to get the benefit from them.

Ever since I started playing this game. There is one rule that we always house rule. And that is the "When choosing to defend". What I like about Champions is that it comes with prebuilt decks. I have no interest in breaking all my cards up and mix and matching to find the most optimal deck, I just don't enjoy the deck building aspect of deck building games, lol. I understand that makes certain situations and villain's much more difficult and that's okay. But after a few matches, the choosing to defend or not defend resulted in losing over and over, almost constantly. And since it's only our small group of friends. We all agreed that when it comes to defending, we can choose to defend after the attack is drawn. I can tell you , by no way does it break/stack the game in our favor. lol With over a hundred matches, the game is sitting at a win percentage of over 60%, lol. While we lose quite a bit, but we enjoy it and that's all that matters, we are having fun. :)

During setup, after you find an environment, you need to shuffle the discard pile back into the encounter deck.

Gotta play bad boy!! So helpful in high number of encounter cards. Element guns are totally okay to not play but def helpful! 6 damage for 2 cards each turn can be powerful!

You should try him against expert green goblin. Sliding shots will be huge turn one and when you flip him to stage 3!

The schemes got a tad out of hand but you were in aggression to be fair. SL is a lot less random than I originality thought. I didn’t realize there was such a thing as a lucky pile of encounter cards. Nicely played.

Btw you can shuffle the encounter deck back in after Absorbing Man's setup. So you don't start with half your deck missing randomly.

Star-Lord: Even easy scenarios feel a bit out of control despite being perfectly fine Absorbing Man has some really annoying encounter cards. He's really only easy because he never does much in the way of boosts so you never really feel like you're about to lose. I may house rule that if he gets to 10 delay counters, he wins. Not that I can think of a time when I didn't beat him in 10 rounds.

For absorbing man don't you combine the discard and the encounter deck together after finding the first environment for set up?

@@DaletheCasualGamer Yes it cycles the encounter deck quicker but personally I'd say on balance it's still an advantage as if your paying attention you can see what cards your not going to get... even just knowing a specific card has gone or still remains in the deck can be a significant advantage IMO. I'm new but already take mental note of a few key cards such as the number of "Big Boost" cards (say 3*) that have been discarded or still remain to help me decide if my hero can probably survive taking an attack round without defending/healing/flipping/Stunning/Ally Defend at a point etc leaving me with the ability to do other things with the resources I've got on that turn. Still if your not paying attention then it's a definite negative :)

Has your 'best solo deck-building games' changed since your last video about them a year or 2 back?

@Amaie G For deck-building games, I'd say that list is still good. Nothing new has really jumped in to take over Marvel Legendary, DC Deck Building, or Aeons End. Have you found any great deck builders?

@@DaletheCasualGamer not really! I've been playing ALOT of Marvel Legendary and Aeons End those 2 have been my favorite so far. Legendary Encounters Aliens is fun as well. I haven't tried DC deck building games yet I can't tell if it plays solo well??

Do you win every time, or only post the ones you win? I've seen dozens of these now and have yet to see you lose. Is the game challenging enough? 🤔

@Jeremy Rohde there are definitely some losses posted. If I play, it gets posted unless I notice a major mistake during editing. As for is the game easy ... I've played over 100 games, so I know several tricks and with the modularity of the game, difficulty can be adjusted to your liking. Hope that helps, and thanks for watching!

For StarLord's setup, you are to search your deck and discard pile for his gun. Shouldn't this be done before you start? Why would you have a discard pile during setup? Is this supposed to be done after drawing your first hand? I'm still new to this game.

Yes sounds odd but if he had drawn the element gun in the very first 6 cards he drew then he would have used Mulligan to place it in the discard pile. Then drew up to the full 6 Cards Then look for the element gun .. which a copy of is now in the discard pile so you end up in the same position (7 Cards) at the end of setup. Watch the sequence from 3:45 to 4:20. Basically during the Mulligan phase your still in Setup and the very last thing he does in the Setup sequence is look for and draw the Element Gun.

What sleeves do you use

@ Troy Jensen I use two brands, for cards getting shuffled I use Dragon Shield clear matte sleeves, and then for the character identity card, main villain card, and main schemes I use FFG sleeves (basically any premium sleeve that is clear on both sides). The Dragon Shield clear matte sleeves are "blurry" on one side, so not the best for dual sided cards. Hope that helps, and happy gaming!! :)
