have not seen one of those in a long time. I remember in the 90's I was calling on a distributor and he put on a big show in front of his employees telling me how he just got this great offer from Star that cut my prices by 25%. He was a blowhard and a bully so I let him continue for a while. I then told him that he should take their offer and drop my line. He was surprised and then started backtracking. I then told him that it was a good thing that he reconsidered because Star had gone Bankrupt 6 months earlier.
Lol! That is funny. I read somewhere that Star continued selling their HV well after eveyone else (except Speed Fastener) had discontinued them. I don't know much about the company. I'm not a fan of this tool at all.
@@vintagepowderactuatedtools9036 Star was never a factor in PAT. Very poor quality. Star was much bigger in the anchor market and also sold blind rivets. They made a big investment in retail packaged products attempting to expand their DIY presence with Home Depot, Ace Hardware etc but went broke trying.
@@johnfix1 The former factory in Mountainville NY was listed by the EPA as a toxic clean up site. I don't know if it is still considered toxic, or what type chemical waste was on the grounds.
