if u dont like this game why u wasted ur time watching this video the best thing that i like from star ocean first departure and second evolution/story is the graphic
@Talesoffan1 your research still wrong, it was released on 1995 on japan and 1998 in north america, star ocean was released on 1996, and a 20 year old would have what i meant by "now tell me who is copying who" cause it had nothing to do with saying that your copying someone
they should of made the battle alot harder liek c'mon if your fighting someone with super human abilities you wouldnt win within minutes soo ya it would of been cooler to see EVERYONE in your party fighting in the scene and that he would of put up for of a fight but ohh well lol:P Good job anyhow:P
It actually depends on your level in this, actually it's the same for any other RPG. If you're really high level by the time you get to a final boss it's not much of a challenge, but if you're not then it's a normal final fight.
Namco and Enix only published these games. The creator of the first tales game(ToP) was Wolf Team(you can wiki it), but because of the issues they had with Namco upon publishing it, the staff split, and the people responsible for ToP(programmer, art director, game designer, director) founded tri-Ace(wiki), and Namco-bandai was then given full control(almost) of the Tales series. Thus Star Ocean was born. Lol, explains all the similarities in the two games, eh? And why i love them both. :)
@pyrlcaster Apparently you didn't read what I said I have problems with my sight and so it makes seeing the small screen difficult. Hence, why I was stating that it was a shame that the screen size was too small. I wasn't complaining. Perhaps you should better understand what someone says before you say something to them, especially if you're going to resort to foul langauge and name calling.
Your choice is either put out the cash to play in itsy-bitsy teeny-weeny eye-strain-o-vision, pray to the deity of your choice that someone develops a working PSP emulator and that your PC can run it, or, and this is your most likely choice given the options, get a good SNES emulator, the original Star Ocean rom, and the translation patch. About the only things you're going to miss are the English voice acting and cutscenes, and RU-vid can provide those.
i need some suggestions for which 4 other optional char to include inside my party.. i am thinking ashlay, ioshua, erys and welch.. cause i want to get erys.. anyway is erys powerful..? or shld i get t'nique instead? Thanks.
having elemental redux items will save your ass in this battle. and continuous spammage of Ratix's Hiryuu Tenraiha and Iria's Genbu Haouken breaks the difficulty of 2 Jie Revorse battles so badly. D=
im alittle confused once you finish the 3 combo hit when you use a regular attack do you use one of killer moves after or is it comboined with your attack?
Okay, so after reading the comments and seeing people had difficulty with this boss I just assumed he was more difficult, looks like that's not the case, he appears only to be slightly less of a pussy than his SNES counter-part, that's a shame, I was hoping to witness some Indalecio style difficultly, well hopefully they don't ruin that aspect in So2.
couldnt get erys if he/she wanted to.. needed ashlay for that from what i understand. if he/she tried to get erys then mavelle would've been lost forever
i just cant afford to down myself for the psp right now but i know i'll get it eventually...isnt there an emu for it though? if there is i'm not sure if this game would be available anyway, since its new.
WELL, it could be useful, especially if there is only two forms of the final boss. So it gives you that tiny little boost of power after defeating the first form of the sinister first form boss to be ready for form 2, which could be more sinister then the 1st. :P
that would be ideal...that would help me immensely. thank you for telling me, i will eventually have to do that...but i have to wonder why did they only make remakes for the psp?
i liked the tales battle system more when it was straight sidescrolling 2D. It played more like a fighter then and was fun. When they started making it linear/2D/3D illusion is when i started not to be fond of it. ;3 I like star ocean's battle system a lot more cuz it gives you more freedom to run about the ENTIRE field, rather than a single line. But in the similarities i mentioned, it wasn't just the battle system i was talking about, also the cooking, PAs/Skits & etc...
oh well...i guess it's because the psp is one of the most popular gaming devices right now and the PS1 console has lost it's luster ever since the PS2 came out so it's understandable...a shame for the visually impaired though, i mean i can see it but not as good as someone who has 20/20 vision.
I was lvl 150 at this point lol. Tri-Emblem makes this battle very easy. If you have triangle flask (machinst) and lezard flask you can spam philospher stone and then group appraising rise prices (sell stones) then group appraise (lower prices) and buy tri.
To people who think PSP size is bad:Get PSPGo or some upgraded PSP and buy a cable that connects to your TV.The tv has a bigger screen and you dont have to complain about your screen,as you are using the PSP as a controller to your tv.not hard.BUY A GO AND A CABLE!!!!!!!!!!
i'll never play on the actual PSP or else i'll go blind, maybe if i get LASIK surgery when i'm 21 next year. i'll do both pray to the deity of my choice for a PSP emulator and that deity is Odin, hes got some hot valkeryies waiting for me in Valhalla (just kidding...) and i'll download the SNES emulator and the game. i should have done that a long time ago, i had the SNES emulator and chrono trigger but i had to reinstall windows because of a virus and forgot to download the emulator again.
damn go figure...the thing is my eyesight sucks i have dual stigmatisms so even if i got a psp i doubt i'd be able to see wtf is on it cause the screen is small, what 5"? you have to be bionick to see the damned thing.
@Talesoffan1 the first tales of... game which is tales of phantasia was released on 2003, the first star ocean game was released on 1996 and the second star ocean game which is star ocean second story was released on 1998 and it have the same battle system as the game on this video. Now tell me who is copying who. PS. Next time do your research BEFORE you post anything on the web, also about the hell thing its all about faith and opinion.
>_> KH sucks balls. Only good for kids who like mickey mouse. As for tales...you DO know that the same people who started the Tales series made the Star Ocean series, don't you? Which is why there are a lot of similarities in the two games....unless of course you're saying they you don't really like the tales series as much as you claim. x)
