Morgenrot world music. I've been trying to find them for 4 years. Their album with this song and many others was released in 2007. A few years back, I found it on napster, sadly it didn't remain there. Join me in my quest if you're willing.
I'm Irish and my ancestry DNA test revealed 84% Irish and 14% Eastern European, so I definitely think its vice versa with the orthodox celts, definitely some Irish blood great song guys 👍🇮🇪🇷🇸

Ireland and Serbia! Celtic brotherhood!!! Same people, one day all of Irish and Serbian lands will be freed, when we fight together side by side like we did throughout our glorious warrior history!!!🇷🇸🇮🇪🇷🇸🇮🇪🇷🇸🇮🇪🇷🇸🇮🇪
Thank you! I am from Ireland. I would like to learn more about things in Serbia. I have been reading about the Yugoslav Wars and Bosnian War. Maybe you can tell me more about it all. Reading is fine but it is good to hear from someone from the place. To hear that side of the story also. Best wishes!
@@LordBoleskine Here's a brief. Of course, my goal is not to tell you untruths or to convince you. I can write a novel here with arguments and references, but here’s a brief. Serbs are the oldest people in the Balkans (besides the Greeks). In the 20th century, the Serbs fought against the 4 largest world empires: Turkey, Austria-Hungary, Nazi Germany and at the end of '99 against the NATO pact (unfortunately also against Ireland in the pact). As we were against every occupying force in the 20th century, so we have been in distant history. Every occupying force found ways to rule that area more easily and in the 18th and 19th centuries they created Croats, Albanians, Bosnians, Macedonians, Montenegrins and so on. They all have Serbian roots, and today they are the worst enemies of the Serbs and serve every occupying force (just like the NATO pact today). After the First World War, the Serbian king with the western "allies" created Yugoslavia and made alliances with other smaller Slavic peoples. The Kingdom of Serbia existed before ww1, while other quasi-states did not. After ww2, the communists ruled Yugoslavia and weakened Serbia and completed the creation of new peoples by giving other republics old Serbian territory. In '91, the disintegration of Yugoslavia along those communist borders began. Serbs are protesting, and of course the war begins. Of course, the fictional nations get support from today's world bully of the NATO pact and break up Yugoslavia. The crimes were committed on all sides, but only Serbian crimes have space in the Western media, while crimes against Serbs are not mentioned anywhere. 2 examples (check please). Before the war, 100,000 Serbs lived in Sarajevo, now not even 1,000. Before the war, 700,000 Serbs lived in Croatia, and now not even 150,000.
In Banbridge Town in the County Down One morning last July, Down a boreen green came a sweet colleen And she smiled as she passed me by. She looked so sweet from her two bare feet To the sheen of her nut brown hair. Such a coaxing elf, sure I smyself For to see I was really there. From Bantry Bay up to Derry Quay and From Galway to Dublin Town, No maid I've seen like the brown colleen That I met in the County Down. As she onward sped, sure I scratched my head, And I looked with a feelin' rare, And I say's, say's I, to a passer-by, "Who's the maid with the nut brown hair"? He smiled at me and he says, say's he, "That's the gem of Ireland's crown. It's Rosie McCann from the banks of the Bann, She's the star of the County Down". From Bantry Bay up to Derry Quay and From Galway to Dublin Town, No maid I've seen like the brown colleen That I met in the County Down At the Harvest Fair she'll be surely there And I'll dress in my Sunday clothes, With my shoes shone bright and my hat cocked Right for a smile from my nut brown rose. No pipe I'll smoke, no horse I'll yoke Till my plough turns rust colored brown. Till a smiling bride, by my own fireside Sits the star of the County Down From Bantry Bay up to Derry Quay and From Galway to Dublin Town, No maid I've seen like the brown colleen That I met in the County Down
Thank you. This was my son whom I lost favorite song. You did it epic! He made me love it! I love you all. God bless and keep you 🙋♥️✝️🇺🇲 I'm Irish too! We used to call Mike Jigger because he loved to dance a jig. Sweet memories death cannot steal!!

Vi ste pre par godina , kada ste dolazili u grad gde ja zivim bili u apartmanima koje moja majka izdaje. ❤️😃 I dalje vas se uzivo secam, i ako je to bilo jako davno
This is the song, which sounds you in ears long time after listening to and you must come back and repeat listening to again and again. Very well done is the clip, made with a sense of humor. I love it.
Yup I also have Irish ancestry...and I used to here my da, and mum singing this song...and I love to this day 🇨🇮🇨🇮🇨🇮 even though my family now live in devon and Cornwall UK we still sing the ol'song"s of home Ireland where we still have family 🇨🇮🇨🇮🌍🌏🌎☮️☯️❤️🇨🇮
I've always loved this tune from its days as a hymn. I agree, after much listening to other versions, this is the best. It's also used by "classical" Anglo-Irish composer, Ernest Moeran, as the second of the "Two Folksong Arrangements" and called "The White Mountain".
Oh you're familiar with the hymn tune Kingsfold! Yay! Is it just me or does Kingsfold sound bittersweet and even a bit sad? Whereas as SOTCD it sounds very cheerful.
@@LESBIANANDAUTISTIC The "Kingsfold" tune isn't exactly the SOTCD. It's played a lot slower, and the harmony is different, more minor keyish in places. Also Kingsfold is talking about the salvation of Christ when one is "weary and worn and sad", where SOTCD is about the "salvation" of bedding (or wedding) the prettiest girl in the area.
@@TonyMatthewsComposer I don't care about the "salvation" lyrics of Kingsfold because I'm an atheist. But yes, there is a difference in the two melodies. Thank you for pointing it out.
@@TonyMatthewsComposer The tune is 17th century English in origin and known as 'The Clean Contrary Way'. It is associated with numerous folk songs and hymns - Ralph Vaughan Williams based his 'Five Variants of Dives and Lazarus' on it. 'The Star of the County Down' lyrics were written in the early 20th century.
Thanks to the Kiss Me Arse radio mod in Fallout 4, I found this fantastic song!!! Love it & cant stop listening to it. I bought it on Amazon so Alexa can play it for me forever! Also, subscribed.
I love this song but most of the big Irish acts sing this like it's a dirge or like they're performing in a folk festival contest. This group nailed the vibe of this song and brought it to life. The guy's goofy Serb swagger is perfect, and the violin lady is adorable. Why is the audio on the official channel somehow worse than the unofficial video that was uploaded in 2006 though?
Can we make some sort of Irish-Serbian union, confederation...or something? The more I listen to their songs, the more sense it makes. Heck...it could be due to all the Tullamore Dew I had.

1:01 Let's speak about there was a farmer, who wanted to say: Away from my pasture, or just wanted to hear it better, but he clearly wanted something, then he saw what you are doing, and he was gone away.
Irish music conspiracy theory. Rosie McCann is the daughter of Mike McCann, who's the Skipper of the Irish Rover. And the poor lass Mary from Step it Out Mary is the Lady from Raggle Taggle Gypsy, trying to get away.
