Dear Gary, this is piece of real Serbia don't believe to gossips. So you are always welcomed, as anyone else who comes in piece! Long live proud Irish people!
@@SubidubidubiDu1 God the Creator of course. Masons don't worship satan. That's a theory put forth by religious zealots and endorsed by uneducated conspiracy theorists who forgot to take their meds. And before you say I'm not high ranking enough to know....I am.
Serbs have always respected the Irish as freedom fighters, especially since they share the same ideals of freedom and because the Celts stayed on Serbian lands and mingled with the Serbs. Eternal brotherhood was finally grounded in the blood of fighters from the Tenth Irish division who gived their lives for Serbian army during the ww1 in 1915. Glory to Ireland, glory to Serbia, glory to free world.

As an Irishman I'm delighted to see this Serbian band play Irish music so well. I'm surprised to discover it exists, as would many other Irish people. We've had a bad history with the British, but let's keep it in the past and move on, with a pint of stout in hand and good friends. Slán.
Ryan Tollefson how so? scotland wanted independence, and they did so politically. also, if scotland or ireland would become independent, i would expect a much lower economical rate to both countries. i think it is better to have things economical and political rather than sentimental and sacrificial.
There once was an English princess who died in a German car, in a French tunnel, with her Egyptian lover, followed by Italian paparazzi on Japanese scooters. The driver a Belgian who drank too much Scottish whiskey.
Falscaidh ain't that the truth, while I was trying to learn it, reading and memorizing the lyrics was the easy part, is the cadence of the song when sung in the traditional fashion that's a real pain to nail down.
As the Irish patriot Roger Casement (executed by the British after the 1916 uprising in Ireland) put it: “I know of two tragic histories in the world - that of Ireland and that of Macedonia. Both of them have been deprived and tormented.” Casement was speaking primarily of the Macedonians who then inhabited the lands that fell within the borders of the ancient Macedonian homeland.
@@mkdmkd8814 one of the most popular cybernetic nationalistic myths, no Irish ever said such a thing, the only source where that was given first has no evidence to support that he ever said such a thing

As a Greek im very proud of my country... And i feel the same for the irish people... Also love Serbia... O REAL Orthodox BROTHERS ... Ζητώ η ελληνοσερβικοϊρλανδικη συμμαχία...
10th division of Irish army fight in w.w.1 side by side with Serbian army vs. Austro-Hungarian empire when they invaded Serbia. There is a monument in Serbia to those brave man who give their lives for freedom of Serbian people and the world. Serbian capitol Belgrade was founded by the Celts actualy so no wonder we shere some common ground for certain things like freedom, feel for music and mutial respect and love. Greatings from Serbia...
Поздрав из Русије! Обожавам вас слушати. Не знам то добро али чине се да има велика стара веза између словенских народа и Ирца. Једнако уживам уз руску, српску, полску и ирску музику :)
Pozdrav brate !
Litterally listened to this over 80 times in the last four days at work. people are like seriously? again? how can you do this? anything better than adele but nothings better than the proper celtic tune. brings me back to my fathers roots. RIP dad!
+Replicator Back in the early '90s there was an Irish batallion in the peace forces in Bosnia, and one St. Paddy's, these guys performed alongside with some genuine Irish band. They brought Orthodox Celts back on the stage 3 times, the Irish guys were jealous. :D
When you think about it, eastern Europeans playing Irish folk music is really no stranger than British people playing blues. It's not about genetics. It's about the music, and the Orthodox Celts understand that.
My original point was that geography is irrelevant, but I'll accept that if you choose to lable yourself as southern European, I have no right to tell you differently.
***** Serbia is one of the ex Yugoslav republic. Serbia was made Yugoslavia after WW1, and the capitol city of Serbia - Belgrade becomes capitol city of Yugoslavia. Now, who don't know geography? ;)
well little historical fact for you, celts lived in balkan peninsula (balkan celts were called scordisci) and they founded belgrade in 3rd century bc, gave the city name sindi-dun (or something similar im not familiar with old irish language:) )which roman changed to singidunum.
This is brilliant, Orthodox Celts have got me out dancing in my bare feet on the stone road, outside my house in the hills of Connemara. I am more of a hard-rocking Thin Lizzy Rory Gallagher, The Doors, CCR, Leanard Skinner etc music man but this is up there with the very best
Izvrsno je ovo mrak stvarno! Pozdrav iz ZG. Super svirate il ste svirali ne znam ni ja, Al bez jebe super ste. Pozdrav iz Zagreba. I dalje tlo podrhtava od potrese. Živili.

Orthodox Celts is a Serbian band which plays Irish folk music combined with rock elements. Their music led to a popularisation of Irish and Celtic music and other aspects of Irish and Celtic culture in Serbia. Serbian rock scene and has influenced several younger bands, most notably Tir na n'Og and Irish Stew of Sindidun.
Pal, they were playing lot of gigs in Ireland 4 years ago, me think. I was reading about their impressions about that tour. If you are from Scotland, that was your chance. However, they are gonna play many years ahead and you are perfectly welcome in Serbia 👍
Orthodox Celts version of the song makes me want to embark in an epic adventure, Followship of the Ring style. The High Kings version makes me feel invincible. Like I can fight a hundred men at once. Dubliners version always brings me peace of mind. I can feel my worries fading, best heard with a fresh pint on hand. No matter what the version one prefers. We can all agree "Rocky Road to Dublin" truly is a beautiful song. God bless the Irish.
I can't believe I have fallen so much in love with this song that I went from The Dubliners, to The High Kings, to the Connacht Kings, and now the Orthodox Celts. This version beats out the Connacht Kings by a mile! Brings me back to my Irish roots! Faigh na coiníní agus iad a fhiach síos!

Every now and then I see the lead singer in public transport here in Belgrade. Always down to earth and a genuinely lovely man. Music that comes from heart. Love OC
You are outstanding band, distinguished among others for sounding value. May God attend you, keep you alive and healthy for handling your culture and traditions up to date.
Úžasné!!! So, so nice. Happy moment of the first day of the year 2014 to find so amazing band. I´ve never thought that I find so well played Irish music band from Serbia. Greetings from Czech republic!
At the beginning of the video I was a black haired Serb listening this song on my PC in Belgrade. At the end of the video I turned ginger and was drinking whiskey in a pub in Dublin with Aidan Gillen (Littlefinger).
