Tbh I think the level lowering is to help new players get to the new premiere content just a little faster, cant say I blame them because when new stuff drops a lot of new players are gonna rush to the content to open up events and see all the cool new stuff.

As someone who played since Seeles first Banner and who started playing such gacha games with honkai star rail i somehow managed to play through it without any issue despite not knowing what the hell i was doing.. i don't really think the game needed the level lowering? Or was i just extremely luck to only struggle with kafka? Edit: i wanted to add that my characters had at level 80 about 1400 ATK and basically no CRIT..

Enemies get a bonus damage reduction for each level above your characters. Less damage reduction plus lower defense stat and a lower hp stat 5 times over is massive differnce.

Basically it scales up exponentially. A Level 1000 Mob that doesnt do any damage would straight up be unkillable.

You're saying that like it's supposed to be a staple in the genre, yet not every rpg has drastic scaling, in a lot of rpgs having only measly 3 levels of difference would result in very minor stat changes and have no effect, especially in the lower part of the level range. Have YOU played rpg games before?

Every MoC stage enemy has level difference of 2.5 and you can see just how stronger they get with each stage.

I do not mind this change at all. In fact I see nothing but improvements for newer accounts. Trailblaze levels gates so much content, making it easier to accses that content is nice quality of life. If you are stuck on a trailblaze fight people often waste resin farming lower level domains with worse drop rates. They're farming low tier gear to beat current content that just makes the gear they just farmed instantly irrelvant. Farming higher tier domain that are already easy like xp, credit domains is a massive boost. If one gets stuck in a trailblaze boss they're forced to farm lower tier xp domains which massivly slows down progression.

And that's why the way the game is designed, to try to like constantly remind you to raise it, is objectively bad. But it is that way by design, to try to encourage F2Pers to adopt P2W. IIRC I didn't even beat the first world level in Genshin or the second. It was some lightning cube boss or whatever ?

Agreed. I got into this game more interested in the story than the gameplay. While I have grown to enjoy the gameplay/grind, I joined after the end of the Xianzhou main arc and thus the grind was much more bearable knowing that, after that arc, I would have time to build up my characters. If the story fights weren't doable as a casual F2P then I and many others would probably have bailed. And even if they downgraded the difficulty, the people like me who rushed to the end of the story without properly kitted characters are still going to suffer when the next part releases...but by the time a player reaches the end of the Xianzhou they're probably already invested and it won't be as much of an obstacle. So making the early parts easier is not a bad thing to introduce new players, especially since the company isn't trying to attract peak gamers but as many people who will spend money as possible.

@@hibitterness5990 Yea don't waste your Stellar Jades on the green/permanent banner, use them with the new banners when you can. I got Jingliu and Ruan Mei as a F2Per, but I really want Imbibitor Lunae and didn't get him. I am constantly paranoid that the team that I have is like three months or so away from being powercrept but idk

yea espically as since its a gatcha game, ya might have to sepnd a lot to get good characters to be able to defeat certian bosses which can be off putting to a lot of people

I don't really see the issue. Making story content, especially early story content, easier so newer players can catch up to new content seems fine to me. Penacony is right around the corner and the Luofu has a ton of mats new chars want. Letting new players get to these places earlier is good, and it doesn't really stop them from ignoring the games mechanics, proper team building and optimization is still needed by the time midgame to endgame rolls around. I doubt Hoyo will nerf story content for other games nor will new content be affected, this is more of a QoL change for new players so they can catch up faster. Also I don't think Genshin has ever nerfed past regions when a new region came out. Edit: Also endgame content is still pretty hard so really there's no harm in making beginner areas well, more beginner friendly.

Don't forget that the character mats will be made accesible before reaching that point in the game, they said that in an earlier stream. Not sure if it has already been added or not

Genshin did nerf the Tartaglia fight. The original version was uber difficult (especially when you don't have good characters) and he was significantly toned down around when Kazuha came out.

I’m kind of expecting this to happen much more for the future. They probably want to keep the scaling difficulty increase ramping up for the next areas of Star Rail. There’s no way to do that while giving the players a challenge currently without either increasing the level cap, or nerfing the enemies. I see this happening in at the final 2.X patch, as well as any further version updates.

Not to mention if they kept the same scaling as before then new players would find themselves far behind the mainstream. Lowering the difficulty and allowing new players to catch up faster definitely allows for more new f2ps to be able to enjoy the game

agreed. the story shouldnt be considered a part of the endgame or treatted as such. We just got a new endgame mode and they will definitely add more.

This is a completely positive change, especially when considering the amount of content that will be added to the future and how scaling for that needs to be considered too. Theres plenty of challenging endgame content, the story was never meant to be such. Even before the nerf it was quite easy. To the vast majority of players (likely on autoplay) not doing a 1 character run, this change is near inconsequential and helps speed up the sometimes poorly paced story.

I'm kinda ok with this because it got rather annoying if I didn't have enough time to farm super well for my characters I couldn't even finish the trailblazer missions to get caught up to the story.

You didn't have to farm to clear the story, till kafka bossfight you can go literally without relics, only some level up

​@@abaddon2040 And if you do use Relics, Level Ups and Traces as intended it completely breaks the game pre-Kafka because, provided you have the resources, it makes the game too easy (and not having them makes it way too tedious), which is bad game design.

@@boyishdude1234 not really, doing that is like leveling your party in the early area until lv 100 in a classic turn based rpg, you can do it but the story is made to be played without farming (till kafka intended at least)

@@abaddon2040 But I'm not really farming. I haven't even unlocked the ability to grind Relics yet. The majority of the resources I have, including Relics, were obtained from either chests or vendors, and any "farmed" materials to level them and other things up is incidental as a result of me doing my dailies every day. If I'm breaking the game by simply playing it the way it's intended to be played, there's something wrong. You shouldn't have to ride such a thin line between not being strong enough and being too strong during the main campaign of an RPG. That's a sign of bad balancing. Also, no, it's not comparable to reaching Level 100 in the tutorial in other RPGs. Clearly you've never tried doing something like that, because that takes FOREVER to accomplish, and if you do accomplish it you get far more substantial rewards for doing so compared to Star Rail's early game "grinding", unless of course it's a poorly designed game (couch cough Kingdom Hearts 1 and 2 cough cough). Besides, it's also bad design to make Level Ups, Traces and Relics largely optional and then all of a sudden make them required for Kafka. That's a broken skill chain on the flow channel that randomly forces the player to grind for no reason when those things weren't necessary up to that point. That isn't fair. Either make the player interact with Level Ups, Traces and Relics consistently throughout the whole game as part of the game challenge, or don't. You can't have it both ways, and the latter is intrinsically bad design for an RPG of any kind anyway, including Action RPGs, because it means that the RPG elements are pointless filler that detract from the core experience instead of adding something of value to it (n other words, it adds pointless busywork that the game could do better without).

I was worried about going to a higher trailblaze level because of the events(I'm assuming this affects events). Currently TL63 and my characters aren't built enough yet and I have a little bit of trouble with events that require certain number of cycles to get rewards. I think it's a good change though I don't inow why they didn't just give us the option to lower our TL World Level so, people that liked the current difficulty in events and story could keep it.

It makes playing Events annoying. I thought like Genshin I can lower the level. Using the support character I wanted to farm while lowering the level of my world. But then I realized there is no such thing. And I am stuck at 67 with Characters that nowhere near strong enough. And I do not have time to put in the game apart from playing the mission and events once a week.

@@Lusc1nt buddy I sunk 2k resin and didn't got a single speed boot. And before you say 'Well you have self modeling resin'. I already used the ones I have. The new ones need either BP which I don't have time for and Events, which I can't complete. It's an extremely slow process for me. I can probably fix this in like 1 month of playing religiously. But no. I don't have the time.

so true, i couldn't progress the topaz quest mission because i kept dying had to farm 2 weeks just to play the damn story. i dont farm on star rail at all. i only play for TB story

you cant even grind hours for character opimization because of TB power. the people who are too stupid to beat the bosses just push any buttons and have no gameknowledge. if you build the chars properly, traces, char and weapon level, some decent relics, most of the game is cakewalk.

Belobog stuff was indeed challenging, I never ignored those high rish high reward chests. I used to lose for little mistakes until I did it underleveled. Xianzhou onward with Luocha, it was mostly a breeze.

I see this as a win All bosses(starting from Svarog up to Phantylia) they took me two to six attempts just to get too the next story content (it was hell pain with school) and now atleast new players who are still early into the game wont have to go through troubles like I had

tbh I see this as a good change. Like how they’ve nerfed some bosses in Genshin it’s a catch up mechanism for new accounts. It says they’re considering the long term effort of gaining new players who are trying to get to the new content without having to farm as much. (Seriously I had to farm for and build characters I’d completely sidelined for a few bosses in the trailblaze missions) does it suck for those who prefer a bigger challenge? Yeah but at the same time they made MOC harder from what I’ve read on hoyolab. So it’s a balancing act. It works for me.

I suppose I should also mention I’m one of those not a day one players. Roomie didn’t register she had room on the computer till early 1.3(when she was swayed by IL coming out to let me see if we could find anything to delete/move to external hard drive) and I didn’t get a phone I could play it on until 1.5. Feels like the fact my experience is as a late addition player is probably relevant to my experience.

This change makes me happy, I can't even tell you how long it took me to complete the main quests because of the hard bosses, I had a full team but I didn't know how to build them properly so I died over and over until I just got lucky I guess. Great change

Tbh is a good change, my friend basically dropped the game because she didn't want to farm to complete the mission, and wanted to farm later. Hsr is still a good and challenging game in the right content, and I don't doubt you will face some difficulties even with the nerfs

​@@Glast04a 25% dmg reduction is a massive change. just so you know even the strongest blessing of destruction 3s when enhanced only give you 15% dmg reduction. this is 25% to all enemy for basically free

@@Void_Everfrost wrong, there is a destruction blessing that, when enhanced, gives a 36% damage reduce at fighting spirit cap. This, along with the 3* blessing, gives a 51% damage reduction, which can easily remove like all damage if you have like fire trailblazer. Even Claras ult with that brings you to like ~81% damage reduction, insanely op

BONUS: also total reduction is actually around 125% if you have the following conditions abundance 2s:at full hp reduce 36% dmg pair with shield to sustain full hp preservation 1s (enhanced): shielded character take 16% less (24% if enhanced) 2s destruction blessing: 0.8% per stack 45 stack max when enhanced around 36% when got hit countless time to even reach 45 lol 3s destruction(enhanced): share dmg equally among character (take 15% less if enhanced) 2s propagation: reduce dmg taken by 8% per 1 skill point consumption, last 1 turn so a little bad though fu xuan matrix of prescience: reduce 12% dmg taken for allies total: 36+24+36+15+8+12= 131% dmg reduction. however the condition for full hp 36% might die out before you reach 36% of 45 fighting spirit stack so in reality just keep dreaming of immortality it won't happen i tried especially in conundrum 6+

@@Void_Everfrost you brought up blessings before me, I just thought I needed to remind you that that wasnt the strongest destruction blessing, i am yet to even try Cocolia after the patch, I have only done the new boss and it still slaps. without the 25% damage reduction I would get killed everytime lol

kind of takes out the feeling of satisfaction you get from fighting the same boss over and over until you finally win but also helps new players catch up easier so ig its not all bad. I'll always have the memories of getting demolished by svarog 4 times before finally winning😔

i love doing content that's definitely at a higher level than i am, but i'd much rather it be kept to SU and echoes of war (swarm boss 6 is impossible without DHIL/Jingliu) than in the main story

​​​@@StellaTheBoymoderit make sense bro not all peep tackle game mechanic inside out. Like freezing enemy after they take action in a turn to make their extra action wasted. Not many people know this. Even prioritise stat like def or hp for , debuffer (nihility) , (harmony) support char. They practically contribute less than 20% dps even if u build as dps. Compared to the dedicated dps unit.. wut i want to say survivability is the priority, if the goal is to clear mission, weekly grindy content. I can see Swarm 6 is still hard for some casual people. Especially those that just got into equilibrium 6. Still farming relic etc.

@@SyrFlora If someone reaches the level to do swarm 6 and still don't know basic game mechanics they have no other to blame other than themselves. It's not like HSR is a skill heavy game either, everything you need to know is taught by the game while playing and the really advanced stuff is only needed for some extreme challenges like 4* only MoC 12 or SU.

I believe this is a good change. I legit quit the game for a while multiple times because I for the love of me could not beat bosses. And at the time, I just wanted to do the story, so I only wanted to farm later. Especially since they are earlier bosses, it’s very likely players will not have built characters. If people rly want the hard version of the bosses, they can just do the echo.

The issue with the bosses isn't that they're hard, it's that they aren't hard at all. They're tedious and mostly just waste your time with pseudo-challenges that barely require any thought or skill to deal with. If they aren't going to design the bosses to provide players with meaningful and engaging challenges like in a proper JRPG, it's better to just make them easier so that way they're not as time-consuming.

It's not dumb to be a story player. That's why many games have difficulty sliders and "easy/Very Easy" difficulties exist. Some people get home from work or school etc and wanna chill and relax with a nice game story. I think this a good thing because sometimes some could upgrade equilibrium level and be woefully unprepared especially at 60 and 65. I myself have been hesitant to upgrade to e6 till I complete Ruan Mei story

I still wait when they make abyss floor 12 lil bit easier or give 1 more minute to clear, cuz its simply impossible with 15-20 fps and 150+ ping

This change was probably implemented to make the bug boss more bearable in the Trailblazer mission. Seriously, that boss is absolutely stupid on max difficulty, even for players who have well-built Jingliu or DanIL teams (which is the minority of them and always will be). The booboss was hard enough without Kafka or DanIL, no need to make every weekly boss considerably more difficult than the one before.

Im actually happy with this, because when i completed the trailblaze ascendance quest, the game was so difficult as to almost make me quit. Not everyone that plays these games are hardcore soulslike players. Some people have much more fun when they can make reasonable progress with reasonable time sink. I'm guessing that the vast majority of honkai players are casuals like I am.

I think they should just give maybe one trial character in the boss stage of trailblaze missions, as that would help combat weakness breaks and so on. For example, I personally am a Seele main with a lvl 80 Seele and Blade, and literally have no more dps' built, and so I'm forced to wait for Dr Ratio to drop because I just cant beat the starcrusher swarm king in the trailblazer continuance mission and there's no chance Im building Herta or Welt and wasting my resin that I need to spend on Calyxs as the drop rates are so low. Giving players one trial character who's related to the story or who is useful (ie Jingliu or Dan Heng IL for this particular fight) is such an easy fix, and I am genuinely in stumped at how Mihoyo didn't think that this content was too hard for a trailblaze mission behing which events like the fairly new critter one are locked behind.

Drop rates are extremely low and way too expensive when farming calyx’s even just to get to lvl 8 let alone 9 and ten. Plus I can’t even unlock ascension passives for my Ruan mei cuz I can’t unlock the echo of war locked behind this quest

How is this a bad change? I just got Honkai last week and am currently TL 41. While I’ve been able to clear all the stuff thus far, you’re perpetually struggling against enemies in the early game and feeling weak constantly is really quite disheartening. Even with these changes, the fights will remain challenging. It just makes the honestly quite difficult early-mid game battles slightly easier and thus more accessible for players struggling. I had to cook up some cope to beat Argenti in Washtopia and the new bug boss in the event. Spending 15-25 minutes in one battle and losing because your Natasha burst was mistimed by 0.5 seconds is a very real thing. For new players, this game is *not* easy. And unlike Genshin, there isn’t a hyperbloom for you to abuse to cheese everything. Making the early game easier is a win in my book.

Considering both myself and my friend have been struggling immensely on recent bosses (they've been trying to get past the deer for over a month now) I love this change. Also, why would you not want it to be easier? I know a content creator probably has enough money to buy their way out of a problem, but for a lot of f2p players, getting stuck on a story boss basically means you're softlocked until you finally get enough characters to beat it. I was lucky enough to get both Luocha and Gepard early, but someone who is stuck with March and Natasha is going to have a WAY tougher time. Plus this change doesn't affect endgame content at all. Nothing changes for endgame players. Nothing really changes for whales.

Honestly I don’t see an issue with it, I have a different account that is a few levels down from where I am on my main. And I got blade on that account and while I did use the early access feature to get some of his mats, I think this direction for the game is good, especially for newer players, who are trying to play keep up. Plus, we still have simulated universe, swarm disaster and Gold & Gears as endgame content

I don't mind the nerfing. As someone who doesn't have a lot of time, and plays mainly for the story, some of the latest story bosses have been so annoying. I like a challenge, but this was just frustrating. For SU or Swarm I understand high difficulty, but for story content, it should be a little easier for players who don't want to farm and just progress story.

I really can't imagine how fast one rush the story quest so it becomes actually difficult for them. I don't remember getting KO'd a single time during my playthrough, and I only used relics from treasure drops.

It has a lot to do with what characters you've gotten as well. I had incredibly difficult time completing Belabog's mission where you fight Topaz and her goons. I just didn't have any team at rank 67 who could deal with the instant death strike attacks. The whole team would just die no matter how well built they were with lv.15 relics.

Also the only healer I had built was Natasha so the only way I finally managed the fight was by building Bailu (took a week) and giving her the tankiest gear possible so she could revive one random member of the party before dying herself. :D

Honestly? Good. Fucking good. Even at minmaxed builds, battles in this game have been snowballing into spongy chores (not actually difficult but just taking forever) with every new main story update since phantylia. At least Genshin's "make enemies spongier with every new zone despite max level characters not getting any stronger" snowball stopped for the most part at Inazuma, so hope Star Rail does more of this.

So that explains why I saw so many posts about certain bosses like Svarog being a road block for players while I one shotted them (not without trouble though, which is fine). So as a new player tuning in to this game (like a little less than 2 weeks atm) because of the upcoming free 5 star character, trying to play catch up, I appreciate this change. As much as the feeling of victory after your hard work is nice, I also like not having to redo fights over and over just to progress story. It can be sprinkled in, but there are other game modes you can put that difficulty in. I'm not sure if the same can or should be applied to side stories though, like the ones with Argenti or Ruan Mei's bug (I had to fight these at least 5 times each before I finally got through them). Maybe I'd like if the event locked ones weren't as difficult? Then again, it seems like events in this game don't go away as fast as Genshin Impact, and it also keeps the event and some of the rewards past the set duration. I do suppose a choice for difficulty like some are mentioning would be a good thing, though. Maybe something like Final Fantasy 14, where if you fail a solo duty and are about to enter it again, there's an option to lessen the difficulty or keep trying again with the harder setting.

Are we really complaining about this??? They added two new floors which can't be cleared by more than half of the playerbase so if you want challenging content,there you go. It's actually annoying when the story boss is so hard you have to repeat it several times and grind mats and levels to defeat it. I'm actually glad they lowered the story fight's difficulty because I also had a bad experience in a couple of fights as a new player,namely Bronya fight. She beat me so many times and it was getting annoying. Genshin did this too with Childe's fight. Before it was insanely difficult and now it's pretty easy. Most players are casuals who drop off just to get in,do the story quest and leave,as is evident by the MoC stats where most of the playerbase doesn't even touch it. They don't have time to go on a sweaty grind just to defeat a story boss.

Ntm this whole solo with trailblazer thing doesn't even prove his point since your average player is going to use an actual team to tackle content. I feel like he just made the complaint to for some reason cover up the fact that he just wanted to do a solo run with trailblazer or something. People are dumb if they think this change is even bad when you still have plenty of content that is otherwise difficult without at least properly built characters not even counting moc11/12, swarm, and gold and gears. That's so interesting, I can't even find other content creators talking about this. Is there any information on if and how this affects the final Equilibrium? Because I am currently sitting at Trailblaze Level 65 and have already maxed out EXP to go all the way to 70 (the end) but I don't want to raise my EQ Level, since the world already felt tough as is, with 0 really well built characters, but 10 endgame ready characters on my account (lv 80, lc 80, traces max), since relics just never wanted to drop right (I have Jingliu since her release and >crafted< an Ice DMG Sphere for her last week, after trying to get one with the 4 weekly SU tokens every week since I got her, including the "double bonus" event drops). Would love to know if I can raise the EQ without having trouble in the game in the future, as someone who just wants to vibe with team comps of character that I like, with them having max level, max lightcone, max traces but only somehow working relics.

If your characters have bad relics...I'm sorry but none of them are end-game ready. Personally I only have 3 Characters at Max Trace, and my average cone level is 60. Yet I have never struggled with anything story-related (Even brought along a level 60 Ruan Mei to Starcrusher purely because I just got her). I'd say you're focusing on the wrong thing. Traces at average should be left at around 6-8 (And that's for all characters you plan to bring to stuff like Con12 GnG, Diff V Swarm, Pure Fiction and MoC8+), since after that starts to give diminishing rewards. Max Traces should only really be reserved for the characters you REALLY REALLY like. They're too expensive, even if we ignore levelling Basic Attacks. Levels are worth it, though, so no issues there. Aside from that, Relics. That's really all you need. With half-decent relics built, even level 60 characters can be useful in MoC10+ (My Pela doesn't even have A6 Trace unlocked, but has seen multiple MoC10 clears). You don't even need that many well built sets. Just focus on 2 DPS characters. Having properly built characters is the easiest way to relax and vibe through content, and would frankly unlock some of the game's most fun modes for when you do have time for a longer session of vibing.

A nihilty character of every type cause I enjoy watching DoTs deal dmg in combat, and then I have both kafka and jingliu for which I actually went on trace material pause for a bit to get relics for. They have the ones they should wear, but 0 of these relics are really satisfying. I see moosashis trailblazer only challenge and hear him he frustrated over relic drops, and I totally get it. In genshin it took me like 2-3 days and not more than 10 fragile resin to get a navia that can go to 250k damage and has all that she need, while in Star Rail, which I've 100% explored and interacted with ever since it's launch still has to drop it's first good relic for me. I understand... It won't happen any time sooner when I focus more on traces than relics, but I'm probably just gonna slowly finish all characters I own with lv 80, lc 80, max traces, before I get depressed over relic rng. And I guess I will just keep it at trailblaze level 65, although I still would love to know if the final equilibrium is also easier now. As you are talking about vibing with the game, i guess I can already do that now too. I'm not combat focused and stuff like MoC stage 7-8 is enough for me, swarm disaster and the new mode I've both not touched a lot yet. I claimed half of both of their rewards, but that doesn't require going into the harder content.

One thing I forgot to mention, I love the trace system compared to genshin talents, and maxing traces is like a matter of a week per character, which can't be said for genshin characters, and the crowns being such a limited resource is just sad too. Maxing traces of characters feels like it at least shows some level of survivability with them, and it's permanent on them.

With the addition of the new swamp, extra MoC floors, and Pure Fiction, this is indeed a reasonable nerf since they properly want new player to get used to the game early on with a controllable pacing since these newly added end game content are actually challenging and need good investment on at least 8 characters which can take a lot of time + resources. Imagine the grind for gears + character with the high difficulty, it just make the game become unfun to play tbh

Its a measure for new players. On launch we had plenty of time to do the content and also only a few characters to spend our resources, new players will have more content to tackle and characters to try and waste resources, you can expect probably in the future for even bigger nerfs and also nerfs in trailblazing levels to access the quests.

It is actually easier for alt accounts who rarely login to get higher level. Meanwhile my account in level 68 stuck and takes forever to get 1 level higher. Also, no more luck for me. Only left with empty hopes. I have to save so much to get 1 character without signature light cone. Must select one limited character or get sign light cone. Must hit the hard pity and rate on meaning must get 1 5 star quality (character or light cone), then pity reset to 0 and must gacha again to get desire/target character/lightcone on the limited banner. I purchase monthly membership and battle pass. Play daily for an hour. But it makes my account get so unlucky. Meanwhile my alt accounts that I never spend money on get extremely lucky. Imbibitor lunae E3 + sign lightcone with just 100 tickets make me take a break for a while. I skip jingliu and argenti banner. Only return when dr ratio will be free. This game is not worth it for me to spend money. When you want to sell it, the price must be drop to get someone purchase it cause birthdate already set.

yeah this honestly makes sense from a business standpoint, people coming back means you want high player retention and if they get stuck somewhere right before the update they may get frustrated and not continue playing. I also think its generally a nonissue since the game isnt hard without intentional challenges such as yours until endgame.

Oh haha I literally finished the story content a couple days prior to this. I was lucky enough to get Bailu on my first 10 pull on the beginner banner, so I never struggled with anything. Some fights were slow, but I rarely lost characters. I think Svarog was the toughest, because the hand one-shot my Bailu. Unlucky (had it been anyone else, Bailu would've revived them), but it was fine still. However, I can see it being a bit more... difficult to players without healing. Or those who just in general struggle with games like this more. I'm in full support of letting players progress a bit faster, it's not a good feeling when you start to play and have to see all the events you're missing out on because you don't have X, Y and Z unlocked. Helping people progress through it a bit faster is going to be good. :)

I waited until level 60 (whatever the last important milestone is, because that's when the most difficult/rewarding tier of relic farming is unlocked) to start grinding relics and lemme tell you, even with max bis light cone and max levels my seele, welt, and blade + lvl 70 supports could not do some of those character/story/event missions. Folks do not do what I did. Level those fucking relics before making all the bosses lvl 80 T.T but maybe with this change it'll be different for those who are going to do what I did with this update

Thanks for the information man, this helped understand why I was getting less EXP from overworld farming in 1.6 from 1.5 for context, during 1.5 I was averaging around 70 to 71k EXP from killing all the mobs in the overworld while right now in 1.6 I'm averaging 68k, while for many this might not seen as much as it is a 4% drop in exp this drop it's daily meaning that weekly we are getting 20%~ish less exp from overworld farm while 1.6 is live (2.0 with the new areas might be the reason why they dropped the overworld lvls which in turn dropped the exp, as such with 2.0 the numbers should go back up again but it's likely that there won't be a significant increase) which translates to 126k~ish experience lost by the end of the patch. Edit: The issue is, how long into Penacony we will have to be for us to go back to the previous numbers? 2.0 (Feb)? 2.2(around July)? 2.4 (near the end of next year)?

@@friarpavel2155 We lose around 21k exp weekly, the patch last 6 weeks which means we lose around 126k exp (so around a day and 2/4) by the end of 1.6. We don't don't know if 2.0 will have enough areas to balance out the lost or if we have to wait till they release all the areas for Penacony. If it's the former, then sure it's not a big lost, but if it is the later we will be losing a considerable amount of free exp for months.

I really don't see the problem in all this. The early adopters of HSR, meaning players who've played the game since launch, paved the way for the game to continue to be refined and remove that barrier of entry for those who are interested in the game, but aren't willing to fully commit yet. A lot of people tend to forget that most of these live service games focus on end-game content as their main draw, and not necessarily the "quests" that take you there. In HSR's case, the main story is just there as a means to introduce new units, introduce you to new game mechanics, and let you enjoy the lore behind the world... so people trying to min-max during story quests and complaining about the difficulty being nerfed is always a head-scratcher for me. I, for one, am happy for newer players who get to experience this fantastic game without having to worry about some boss being too difficult for them to defeat. Heck, if you look at it objectively, Hoyo is dumb for nerfing difficulty since the new players wouldn't be incentivized to spend money on the game for them to beat the content more easily. Yet they still did it anyway in favor of the player experience instead of just trying to peddle us their in-game currenct every chance they get.

It's baffling. Make the game hard, people complain. Make the game easy, people will still complain. Make something sort of in the middle, and people will still find faults with the difficulty. That's why I laugh at hardcore players in Genshin or super casual ones in Star Rail when they complain that the game is not for them instead of leaving. You can never please everyone and the world doesn't revolve around you, so why should they make any changes that have nothing to do with the type of game Genshin or Star Rail are? If you like hard content don't play Genshin, and if you're super casual don't play Star Rail (or at least do as I did and only ascend when the story forces you to). Every time any game has tried having something for absolutely everyone, it ended up dying, because it's simply impossible. That's why you pick a target audience and stick to it. And that's why I hope they never make Genshin harder or Star Rail easier (story doesn't count, it's fine that they did this).

Now I wish they lowered the Inazuma Archon Quest to 25 AR max in Genshin Impact, so I can finally do stuff there. Including World Quests and other important Inazuma systems (like domains, offering), because as for now only Inazuma has such elevated requirements for everything. You can literally do everything in Sumeru or Fontaine with no AR requirements (not to mention, You can actually go there at any time).

Tbh it not really that big of a deal but if people really hate this so much they could add mode thing where there a switch between normal/without neft and easy/with the neft

As someone who can auto all the bosses, I wasn't paying attention to the change. I'm sure it helps with people getting that start playing the game late get caught up, and that is a good thing. (The longer you stay on the internet, the sooner they're gonna see a TINGYUN meme before they reach THAT in the story...)

I remember spending a whole night just leveling up my characters and losing my mind trying to do the equilibrium fights to be able to continue the story. Im glad they nerfed it, as for a new player like me this made me quite frustrated. Though in hindsight it is also the most fun part to be challenged greatly (except for that deer in xianzhou luofu).
