Hello and welcome. Today we take a look at the Star "Starlight" BM Chrome chambered in 9mm. Manufactured in Spain, Star developed a reputation for producing tough and reliable firearms at an affordable price.
I would like to hear your thoughts and experiences with the Star pistols and many thanks to my friend Greg S. for lending me this pistol for the video.
Thank you for stopping by and God Bless.

Nice review! You've been pulling out so classics. I remember these firearms when I first started shooting in the 80's

I have one almost identical, they are gorgeous. The only difference I could see was mine does not have the Star "medallion" in the grips. My serial number starts with 157 and yours starts with 151. I assume yours is an earlier model. Thanks for sharing.

Back in the day this was one of the smallest 9mm pistols you could get. The only other option was to get a PPK but that wasnt 9mm or you could get a small 38 special snub nosed that was it for CCW.

The hammer bite on those is horrible, and they don't like hollow points, but they are cute. I have a police surplus model. It was $200 and looks like a baby 1911. I had to bob the hammer a bit and remove the mag safely i also put checkered wood grips. Came in the original cardboard box with the manual.

That’s a beauty. I wasn’t aware they came in three different finishes.

For anyone with one of these Star pistols that is having trouble finding factory magazines, the Triple K ones are 99% the same quality as the originals

This is an absolutely beautiful old example of the Starlight BM. These were served as military + police pistols all over the world. They're good shooters as far as combat accuracy. Expect 3'' groups at 15 yards. Some will shoot even better but most (depending on wear) will be close to 3'' at 15yds. Sadly Star, Llama and Astra (All Spanish manufacturers) are out of business.

The Star made its appearance in Pulp Fiction as the gun carried by Samuel Jackson.

1911s are a pain the ass to make work well with blanks but Star pistols are a dream to set up for blanks. If you watch the old movie the Untouchables all of the 1911s are actually Stars.
