Boy I'm jealous ! I already own the three dvd sets from Best Buy , but if I didn't I love to get this latest upgrade. Totally agree the art work is amazing!
MAY 2017 are theese just a re package from what I own ? previous own transfers had a camera top right hand corner everytime special effects were added dose that show up on theese reboots?
I was wondering if this set include the remasters edition. Were Paramount went back and updated the special effects, ships, plainest, and nice little tweaks here and there.
I own the 2005 special edition 10 film box set which also included the director's cut for Star Trek the motion picture and the director's cut for The Wrath of Khan. Ofcourse it's not Blu-ray but do you think it's worth upgrading? I don't mind the grain
In retrospect. I have, over the years, purchased ST:TOS a number of times, and I am a massive fan of TOS crew......only. But there is always a limit to how many releases one is willing to hand out their hard earned cash for. Before my move to the States and living in England I bought everything I could on VHS, then replaced them with DVD, and again on HD DVD. After moving to the States in 2012 I, yet again, purchased them - but this time on Blu-ray. I decided to hold back from pre-ordering the 50th set to see what would happen. And then low and behold I was able to get TAS and TWOK: Director's Cut on Blu-ray as well. Everyone's pockets as well as patience and common sense has limits. And all the info on the extra disc is available.....if you know where to look for it. So what did I do with the money I had put aside for this set? I bought The Wand Company's TOS Bluetooth Communicator instead.

actually it's missing the much better and preferred director's cut, the directors-cast-crew commentary track, and 2 half hour bonus features from the motion picture, the directors cut of part 6, and all the text commentary's from the the series and 5 of the 6 movies.
I am screwed. I was going to order this set one month from Fingerhut to start off my account with them and now they only have a handful of blu ray titles. They used to carry alot. What the hell?! They can kiss my ass now.
The design is great, the packaging is AWFUL. It's really hard to get the discs in and out. You have to be extremely careful or they will become unplayable very quickly.
If you see this and still have the blu ray set i have a solution to fix the cases! All you do is cut these tiny pieces of plastic and you are able to press down the things holding the discs in place like a button on regular cases. The pieces of plastic are like struts you see in the + looking disc holders and there are four of them and if they are all gone you can easily remove and replace the discs much easier
